I finally washed my car!

I don't when the last time I washed my car was. I know it wasn't last summer, it was most likely the summer before (I hope it wasn't longer than that). But, with all the snow the last 2 weeks, and then the temperature being almost 70 today... I just couldn't resist! I got out there and washed the windows on the inside (I had some dog smudges on them) and washed down the entire outside. This was great too, because I was finally able to put my magnet on the back for Breast Cancer Awareness and also put my window clings on for the 2009 3-Day Walk. It does look so much better, I can't wait to drive it to work tomorrow!
How long do you go before you wash your car? Do you wash it yourself, in the driveway or take it to a spray-place? Or do you take it to the drive-through car wash or maybe to the detail carwash?

My car is in need of washing, since it has salt on it from the last few weeks of snow that we had. I just got my car the last of Decemeber and ran it through the car wash. That is what I might do today if there is enough time to do it after I go grocery shopping. I was hoping for a good rain, so I wouldn't have to wash it to get the salt off the car. But with it sunshining today, it doesn't look like the rain trick will do it today.

The salt was pretty bad on my car too, that was the main reason I washed it. And it was almost 70 out there so it was kinda nice to do it. I don't know when we're going to get any rain, but I didn't want to wait that long either!

We try to wash our car once a week in the summer, and once a month in the winters. But we took a trip in December and came home wanting to wash the car.. But that still hasn't happened. Oppps.

It's amazing how that stuff just kinda gets away from you! I'm sure you'll get it cleaned up before too long :)

My husband sells Dri Wash and Guard, a waterless car care system. It is great. He does all of the car cleaning. He set up at a flea market yesterday and sold some as well. You only have to use it every six months. The dirt will just wipe off. It treats the glass as well, and they have interior products too, I think.

I take it to a drive though car wash and then I get out and dry it myself because we have really really hard water and you can see the water spots on my car.

I will usually dry my car off after I wash it also, but this time I only did the windows and also where I have car magnets.

We wash our car the least on a weekly basis. but if thee is a need to clean it as often as weekly, then we do it. We have a spray at home to clean the car, just like what is being used in car wash establishments. Cleaning the car on our own is a lot of savings for us.

It does take a bit of time to do it yourself, but you do definitely save some money. I also think it looks cleaner when you do it yourself...

My husband is known as the man with the cleanest car in the village.Everybody complements on our car,he is out there as soon as there is anydirt on it,he takes great pride in his car,he is always washing and polishing his car and hates it with all the snow as he cannot keep it as clean as he would like,we have a caravan parked about a mile away from out house in a storage place, even up there he is known with the cleanest caravan in the place he cannot help it.Mind you he does not really give a monkeys if I leave the house work ,he makes me laugh,he does no cleaning indoors at all,he never notices if the house becomes a wreck.Maybe it is just as well as if he was as fussy indoors he would drive me crazy.Saying that he does do jobs for me if I am ill ,or get behind, the cleanest car we will have that on his head stone.Bless him.

I was like that with my first car - ALWAYS cleaning it up. But that wore off and now it's just a mode of transportation. I should try to take more pride in it though...

My car is definitely due for a cleaning. It was too cold to wash it while I was living in Ohio (stayed below freezing). Since I moved, the weather has been warm enough here. However, I've always been lacking either time or money.
Hopefully I can find the time to do it tomorrow before I have to go into work. Laundry may win out on that battle though. We'll see.
To answer the question, I generally take it through the automatic car washes. It's a lot cheaper and faster that way.

I have never actually been through a car wash, although my son did take my car through it once. I've always washed it myself by hand though, I kinda like it.

We have one of those hose 'em down places by my work, but nothing really by the house. It worked out good though because it was so nice out I was able to do it myself in the yard. I need to do that more often!

hello reinydawn
i bet that your car is thanking you right now for washing it. and it is also awesome that you can now display your sticker on your car. whoo hoo! now, do you want to come on over to my house and wash my car for me? lol it was last summer sometime when my car got last washed. and when i do decide that i want to wash my car, then all i have to do is get my hubby to get out the pressure washer out of the garage and he hooks it up for me and hands me the wand so that i can pressure wash the car out in the drive-way. that is what that i should have done today, but i have been driving the mini van lately thou, due to my car having a flat tire on it. lol grrr. another problem to deal with.
take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

I never even thought to use the pressure washer on the car. I kinda like that idea...
It is so nice to drive my car with all the windows clean :)
