Tomorrow I am having my new fridge-freezer delivered as mine packed up two weeks ago and I have been relying on a mini fridge and taking advantage of the recent cold weather and the outdoors to keep what was the contents of my fridge, cold!! I usually get up around 7.30am, leave the house around 8.30am to take my kids to school and return home around 9.45. They have given me a time slot of between 7am and 11am.
Taking sods law into consideration when do you reckon they will deliver? LOL What has been the most inconvenient time someone has attempted to deliver something to you?

Hiya Humbug,
well we just know they will deliver when you are out, I'm sure delivery men have a radar system to detect the exact mo you will not be home. It gets me how they always expect folk to have a whole day in just to wait for their deliveries, I reckon we should all boycott home deliveries and put them all out of business, not quite sure how we would achieve this but it should be done..lol..I've never had any strange ones just the normal sit in for the next 24hrs and wait!

Its always inconvenient whenever something has to be delivered to my place because they always come when I'm in my pajamas or taking a bath or when I'm just about to leave my apartment house, and the most inconvenient time for delivery for me, is any time early in the morning because I dont like getting up to early and having to rush to the door especially during a good sleep, I'm just not a morning person at all.

Hi Humbug, Recently I waited in with a neighbours key for a delivery of their fridge freezer, promised before 2pm. Well I had to leave to get son from school at 3pm and YES you've guessed it that is when they decided to deliver and they left up the stairs of another neighbour which it then took four of us to get down the steps and then walk to the other neighbours house. If you go into my profile of Facebook there is a video of us walking the fridge LOL. Hope sod's law oesn't happen for you and that they deliver before or after school run. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi ya ellie333
Hahaha yes I remember the discussion you started about 'walking appliances'! LOL I will have to check out the video clip though, that has gotta be funny to watch. I am amazed that the delivery man was allowed to simply leave it there without a signiture, anybody could have taken it!
Thanks ellie

Good luck with that. When I was younger and just moved into my apartment, I took off from work to have my bedroom set delivered. I waited all day and night and then never showed up. They said they couldn't find the house. Yeah right! I finally got it delivered the next day.

They won't be early, but it would be my luck that they would come while I was gone. But usually, I find they come as late as they can in the time frame. I suppose they might have other deliveries, so yours could be first, the middle, or at last. Just hope they come while you are home!

If your days run anything like mine, they'll show up around 8:25 (5 minutes before you need to leave). I'm guessing they didn't let you pick a delivery time?

First I think that them coming at 7am is a bit ridiculous. I think they shouldn't start
doing their deliveries till after 9am. But that is only my opinion.
Secondly, if it were me they would end up coming when I wasn't home. I would leave them
a note saying where you want it put, if you can somehow leave your house open or if
you have a front porch or somewhere where they can put it. But then you would have to
have your husband bring it in and place it where you want it and if it isn't level he
will have to level it. Does it come delivered and placed and levelled or do they just
leave it up to you to do that?
Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend,
Have a good mylotting day, Chris

Hi there chrislotz
I must admit I did find it odd when I was given this time slot but then I guess they have a lot to deliver in that day and have to make a start when they can. This particular company will unpack the item for you and place it in the place you want it so that you inspect it before they leave.
Thanks chrislotz

Hi p1kef1sh
That sounds about right. Once I was in the toilet and I heard my letter box go. When I had finished and checked what it was I found a card on the mat saying that a the postman had tried to deliver something but I wasn't in. Cheeky so and so didn't even ring the doorbell or knock on the door. If I can hear my letter box rattle whilst in the bathroom I would certainly have heard the doorbell or a knock at the door! I then had to go to the PO depot and pick it up myself. Maybe he left it there and forgot to bring the parcel with him on his round!
Thanks p1kef1sh

When I was on vacation in another state. They called me and asked if i'd be available for them to deliver my washer and dryer. I said "Sure, Come from Texas to Florida where I'm visiting and i'll sign for it!" So dumb.... I told them that i'd be gone when I ordered it!!

Taking sod's law into consideration then the most likely time that they will deliver is as soon as you have left your house and are out of sight. No one ever delivered anything to us as we lived in the wild. We had to take our own delivery vehicle and collect it ourselves. what they should have down is to take your cell number and call you when they know what time that they will really be there. But this is too simple and convenient for everyone so it probably would not happen.

Hi ya cynthiann
The last few large items I have had delivered from a different company have called me an hour before they think they will be there and that gave me the chance to make sure I was in and meant that I didn't have to stick around waiting for them. This is a different company I have ordered it from!
Thanks cynthiann
