You spent hours studying a particular topic and you can recite it word for word .The only problem is you get in the exam and see a question on the topic and and you freeze ,nerves get the better of you.Or it maynot be nerves but for the life of you ,youcant seem to summon up all the knowledge that you know is there in the recesses of your mind. And the worst part of it is that when you leave the exam ,it all comes back to you in waves ,you could do all the paper in your sleep . Ever happened to you ?

Hey it has never happen to me. I was never scared of exams. I never byhearted anything which i have to write, i write understanding the meaning and the subject on what the question is based on. I rarely was scared as far as i remember, yes, forgetting happens but not for all the questions when we are really prepared. there will definitely be questions which we can answer and the rest leave them in choice.

Lucky you ,this has happened to me a few times .I ahve never had a total blockout but there have been times when I have forgotten some things that I have studied.Well in your case I dont think you would be phased in an exam because you are required to write what you understand but in case you have to use recall ,like for formulas as someone mentioned before ,it might be more taxing

Hi ronnyb! Oh that happened to me a long time ago when I was still in high school. I never crammed in any of my exams and usually i am always prepared days ahead. But this one examination, I got a panic attack that my head went blank..and good thing that I was able to calm my nerves just in time. i tried to breath deeply and pray. Just before the examination time was over, i was able to answer as many questions as I can but of course, I was not able to answer all since the time was over. I am just glad that I managed to get a passing mark. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

Yeah it happened once to me and it was a math test and the formulas just skipped my mind. Well good thing I passed the exam but i learned a lesson not to cram before an exam to avoid mental blocks.

I hardly meet those kind of situations.Usually,i revise as many times as possible. So i have not met those terrible sitautions much times.I could remember one such time of ma maths examination where i forgot one of the integral formula.I thought it is not of much importance and to neglect it and i went through just once but it came in 2 marks and i beagn to blink!blink! and blink!.I missed out that only two mark of the exam and i could not forget that matter any time because it taught me to be very careful in preparation

no I mean yes for only one paper, course was bit tough to remember as there was lots of equation, where you can write equations up to two pages for a single answer. And i forgot the answers for that paper only

Never and thank God for it.If I had studied something thoroughly, there has never been one instance where I had forgotten something or nerves got the better of me.There may have been occasions when I did not write an answer as well a s it should have been because I had not devoted all my attention w hile studying that particular topic; but if I had studied God has never let me down .I am ever grateful to Him for this.

Yes i happened with me once.I studied a data structures answer few months ago.The same question came in the exam.I was not able to recollect it.But somehow i managed to pass the paper.such problems should not happen with us in life.If we study from day one we will not face this problems.

It happens so many times that I tend to forget all that I have learnt during the preparation. Sometimes the extent is that the last page which was opened for the revision was the same question which I got in the examination but I could not answer because I forgot. So this can be the level of nervousbness.

I took a course in computer maintenance last year and it was a year's course. I still haven't taken the exams as yet, I will be taking those in a couple of weeks. Anyway, ever since completing the course I have continued to revise over and over and over! I said to myself that I would do this until I had finally gained that long awaited qualification. I'm thinking that you are going to be ok provided you have done a lot of revision as it needs to all sink into your mind and this doesn't happen overnight. Thankfully I have never experienced what you have experienced as yet and hope that I never do. I'm a little nervous about these upcoming exams but I think that I am ready for them now, it has been a year that I have been revising. Good luck. Andrew

really and it's irritating, horrible,, and really really duhhh?! after all night studying the lesson and in a blink its just loss, but other said you're so nervous that you suffer from mental blocked,, but no matter what the reason is,, its really unfair..

Oh my gosh, I super experience this every examination! This week is our midterms week, and you know i have to do all the focus and perseverance to pass my course (which is nursing). We do have 2 exams a day and what i experience is my mind cannot handle both! Hahaha, that's why when i am taking the exam, there's the tendency that i forgot this particular term or word which i cannot recall! But i know that i have read this particular topic! Sometimes, its better not to study than to study. Hahaha, But i am so lucky that i always pass the exam even though i didn't study at all! =)

Dear Ronny, that is the most painful and most ineffective way of studying. Try this method: 1. Read only the heading 2. Close the book and try to recap the information related to it 3. Read through the paragraph 4. If you have recall most of the information, then continue to the next headings 5. If not, close the book again and try to recall. Read through again to see how many main points you got them correct.

Oh G-d No! If that ever happened to me, I would look for the highest building on campus and jump! Thankfully, I have a great memory. And if I paid attention in class, I can remember most of the facts of the classBut I have studied for a spelling test, remembered most of the words for the test and forgot every word as I left the classroom.

That's called brain freeze or NERVES! My daughter went through it all through High School. She could recite the book backwards, but she'd freeze up during a written test. She could give it orally with no problem. She has a daughter that is the same way. She's in college now, and I hope she's much better at taking tests.

Yes, it happened to me when i was still in college.. i've spent hours in studying for my exam and yet i end up forgeting some of the important terms in our lecture.. i hate it! maybe the anxiety/pressure has something to do with it.. it was on my later years when i've realized that i shouldn't be afraid of taking exams.. i've learned how to take things easier, calm down and focus on the questions being asked on the test paper..

Yes, it happened. It's soooo frustrating, unbeliavable! Usually it happens when you learn too much at once. It's filing your brain with so many things, that when you'r all stressed to give the right answer, it does not come. And once you calme down, everything comes to you in a boom. Once I studied all night long, went to the exam and passed it just with the minimum mark. And I was so well prepared, I could not believe the answers I gave. And it was the best exam - supposed to be - that I thught I'll pass with flying colours. So, yes, it happens.Too much, for my taste.

hi ronnyb, in my school days i used to forgot everything i studied after entering in to examination hall..this is mainly because of nervousness and tension..one fine day my social teacher advised me to write in the paper that i have studied..so i took his advise, from that day it yields better results in exams...so try for it.. happy mylotting:-)
