I look forward to my grandson getting to come spend part of his summer here with us. When he was younger and my daughter worked he would spend his entire summer here. When he is here it just depends on what all is going on around here or what he wants to do or where he wants to go.
I look forward to his spring break also, he will be here for that week.

Well yesterday my son and his wife and I bought a 32 foot camper that is parked in a permanent spot only 45 minutes away from my house. A lake is across the street and it has lots of other ammenities....so I guess this summer I'll be spending time up at the lake in my camper! LOL....For some reason I always feel more inspired to do my writing when I am closer to nature.....so I am buying a laptop to take up there with me...

I look forward to hanging out more with my children. It is warm outside so we can do more together outside. There is also no school so we don't have the same bedtimes as in Winter. We also can travel more and just over all get to spend more time together and that is a good thing.

I love swimming too. Just wish we had a pool! I love being able to start my car without having to scrape the ice and snow off. I love being able to open my windows in the house and letting the breeze in. I love having a garden and sitting on my porch reading books.
Two things I don't like: The humidity and mosquitos!

The pool is just wonderful. I have found that it is truly theraputic for my bath. Even small amounts of time in the water are very helpful. I dont care for the humidty or the mesquitos either...and I will surely have some of both lol

We have a Sunday ritual here at my house. First, it's the only day that everyone is sure to be off work. So that's a big, YAY! My brother will check to make sure the pool is good to go, and if I didn't take care of it on Saturday, I'll run to the grocery to pick up some stuff to grill. Then my sister and her family will come over. My brother's wife takes care of the salads and helps with prep, nad then my sister's hubby does the grilling. We spend quite a bit of time in the pool, having a nice relaxing time together.

I can't wait for the summer because I can go cycling again. Sure I can start in the spring, but only weather permitting and I will just be taking small rides because I will not be in the best of shape.
But as soon as summer starts I can go on 30-40 mile rides, and just make a day of it.
Of course, I can't wait for the warm weather and getting to wear less clothes than my usual 5 layers that I have on during the winter. Oh, and eating ice cream. I haven't had ice cream all winter because it is just too cold.

To be honest I am not really a Summer person my friend and I far prefer the Autumn and Spring where mother nature I feel is at her best! When things start growing in Spring is beautiful, the plants and flowers awaken and in the Autumn/Fall when everything changes colour and the smell of smokey bonfires. I am sensitive to the heat and Summer brings those nasty pests wasps too, our Summers are humid and sticky and we are not fortunate to have the dry heat that other countries boast of. I guess I would have to say the lighter nights when it's still light at 10pm and the beautiful Sunsets. We take so much for granted don't we, mother nature has so much to show us if we only open our eyes and look.

I love spring but summer here is very hot. I whine my way through it every year...lol yes, I must confess, I hate the extreme heat. I often feel like I am in the oven lol so we also share this problem...we like to be cool and comfortable . You are right, mother nature is amazing! Thank goodness, I can go jump in the pool when I want too. Maybe we should have resided iin Alaska or at the North Pole lol

I look forward to the warmer weather, of course. Summer is time t shed these God forsaken winter clothes and put on shorts and tank tops. Oh, let's not forget flip flops or sandles.
Also, the days are longer and my girls can play outside!! They can get into the (wink, wink) fresh air and just have fun playing in warmer weather.
Summer brings trips to the park, zoo, beaches, lakes, Nana and Papa's house, parties, concerts in the park and so much more...
Summer is the best season of all. Even in my city where it reaches temps over 105 from July-mid September.

It sounds like you have a wonderful summer. That is alot to look forward to. I am thinking about the flip flops, It will be nice to get back into them. It sounds like it gets pretty hot there too, and will be staying in the light comfortable clothes.

Hi eaforeman6! I do love going to the beach during summer but I am not really there for a swim because I really do not know how to swim. I just love to walk on the shore each morning and have a boat ride during the day. I love watching the family go for a swim while I am busy in the grill. lol
Take care and have a great day!

I look forward to longer daylight hours and more energy to enjoy them. Of course the energy thing is more about the job than the season, but I do find that I have more energy when I am warm, and the sun is shining. I like the pool as well, and walking in our beautifully landscaped parks.

I hope we get a summer this year. Last year, we had only a couple of weeks of fine weather and this was while I was moving house so I couldn't sit out and enjoy it. If the summer is good this year, I am going to spend most days sitting in my back garden and catching up on my reading, and at weekends I will probably go to the beach and go for long walks along the strand.

I use to take long walks on the beach and the strand. I may do it again sometime this summer but It still sorta sickens me after what Galveston went through. They are still trying to recover and its almost hurricane season again. I do love your ideas and appreciate your response.
