Does decreased MYLOT REPUTATION/RATING affects you?

Hello maean_19! I have notice it too. Mine was down from 96 to 86 and I was really very shocked. I thought someone really rated me negative. I used to have 10 star but now, it went down to 9. I know it would take long again to give back my rating and whoever rated me negative, thank you so much. Don't worry, everything will be alright. I don't know why there are people who love to make other people down.

Well sometimes spammers come here and just give out negative points randomly. it's their thing. SO even if you haven't started an offensive discussions, your rating might go down. Another explanation could be that you disagreed with a discussions starter and he or she rated you negatively. Not to worry though. I think that the rating system is flawed and doesn't affect one's earning power. As long as my earnings don't decrease, I'm good. :)

In July, 2007; I'd my experience regarding this issue. Where, my myLot reputation plummet in just there (3) minutes from 95 to 63 which is 32 points. Me too, I'd never practiced negatively rated others and only for positive rating icon. The poster doesn't like if we go for cons side to their discussion content, and they only wanted for pros side. That is what I learned on here. In this case, we can do nothing and myLot has already stated in FAQ index - frequently asked questions - User Rating & myLot Reputation - Why is my reputation going down? & A specific user is giving me negative ratings on all my discussions and my reputation rating is going down, is there a way of stopping this? http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx#4 From Silver Star to Yellow Star; it was really a hard time for and it is what I am enjoying now. Till my feeling no more interested in that particular area of star color and the myLot reputation system. From that point of time, I focus my discussion on Quality perspective and no longer catching up for quantity achievement. Much better enjoying great earnings rather than that "floating" reputation that vulnerable to "sinking". For your knowledge, maean_19; this kind of disagreement had been uploaded by more than thousand members through their posted discussion but the system still remains till today. Maybe myLot got good technical reasons on its application and operating system which no member knows about it for its subrosa, secret, clandestine, or surreptitious procedure.

I to was not very happy. I just recently started a discussion similar to this and how it made me feel like someone didn't like me...I don't think I have ever said anything bad about anyone! I don't think, I know I haven't. The only thing I can think of is I said something and someone didn't take it the way I ment it. That happens alot when people can't hear you, tone of voice, joking what not, people can't see or hear that when they are reading. They take it the way they read it to themselves. But we still love you so dont worry about it!

It probably would effect me as long as the earnings are not deducted for an unkown reason. Mylot has not published any guidelines as to how ratings, earnings, etc would go up or down. nor does it specify which content is prohibited and which is permitted. it does not tell if copy paste from other website for adding extra information is allowed or not , i added some information in my post from other website and my a few cents have been deducted from my earnings - most probably for this reason. mylot should add all guidelines clearly on thier website

Is it that because of negative rating such results? If so we have to be on guard now on. That its rating should go down is not something pleasant. This is like a big family and mylot.com is a house, and if my house's rating goes down it causes pain. Hope things would take positive turn at the earliest.

I would be unhappy if this happened to me, although I don't really know why it happens - it just seems to go up and down of its own volition. I try to remember that everyone will have different opinions, and that sometimes people will just rate you negatively not because you've been rude, but because you disagree with them, even if they don't say anything to you. It's frustrating.

no it doesn't bother me one bit even though my reputation has been lowered. its no big deal.

yes it is matter for me when my ratings drop down but we can't avoid it. Some members here rate you negative even you are not. It's usual happenings here. This is not the first time that members post a discussions with regards to ratings. I already answered many times. It's really affects me because it means you made a negative things to any members that is why your ratings drop.

Till the time mylot is paying us money, it does not have enough difference to the people. Anyways the decreased reputation affects adversely to each and every member of mylot.

I did not know about this rating earlier and came to know about through your post.Do not feel hurt if your rating has come down because mylot is a social networking website and it has members from different backgrounds,social set ups,traditions,cultures etc.All five fingers are not equal therefore you cannot expect each and every member here to agree on what you agree.So take it lightly and keep posting.You should not be bogged down by the difference of opinion and you are quite free to express your feelings towards issues. maybe that's not affect me so much cos i just new in mylott.but if that happen to me oneday,i'm not too worry about it. i've been happy can join th mylott and join in all discussions.

I should think that it's quite possible that someone spends their whole time going round other people's discussions negatively rating. There are some seriously weird people out there, so I wouldn't take it to heart!

I don't really pay attention. After all, I'm still pretty new, and I'm still getting used to the way things work around here - so it doesn't have a huge effect on how I do things here on MyLot.

Yes decreased mylot reputation ratings affect me.I was once on 95.Then suddenly i went down to ninty.Then after that i went to eighty six.Now after lot of hard work i am in eighty nine points.I am waiting to get the blue star.I like to have a ten star rating.
