Do you head straight for the clearance racks?

Personally, whenever I go shopping, I (out of habit) storm right to the back and to the clearance section. I pretty much do this whenever I go shopping, and when I shop with my friends, sometimes they're weirded out by this. Do you do this, too? What are your "habits" as far as when you shop? Do you check out the clearance first or later on? :)

I head for the clearance racks first and sometimes that's the only place I go. Why pay more for something you can get at a much better price. Target is my most favorite store for clearance bargains. You can find their clearance items in every department on the endcaps. If you are lucky enough to have a coupon for a clearance item you can get a really good deal. I was at CVS yesterday and actually asked it they had any clearance section. There wasn't anything in the usual clearance section. You just never know when you'll find a good bargain unless you look.

Very true! Thanks for the answer! I also like Target, although in the past couple of years I've noticed their clothes are getting MORE & MORE expensive! (Have you noticed this too?) I've always considered Target to be a "discount"-type store, so to see their jackets being sold for $70 and sweaters for $40, it makes me kind of upset. Also? DOES cvs have a clearance section? I've always been kind of curious about that. :)

I usually only buy things on sale. I hate paying full price for something. Most people think I'm nuts when I tell them that I get alot of my clothing off ebay. Mostly I only buy new things, but people dont get it. I always head right to the sale items rarely do I even look at the other things they have. In one store I only look at a certain brand they have because its the only t-shirt i will wear. My husband thinks I'm nuts.

No, I agree with you! I'm the same way. I personally love certain brands too, because they fit the best and are the most comfortable. I think most girls pay more attention to this kind of things than guys (who usually just shop without caring too much about looks, brand-names, and comfort). I hate paying full price too. Call me cheap, whatever! Thanks for the response! By the way, doesn't shipping on Ebay get to be too much/too expensive?

The clearance rack is the only place I go. Especially the 75% off rack - I just love getting a bargain. You can get more this way - and good stuff cheap!

Yup, I like checking out the clearance racks; and if I shop alone, I don't have to worry about my friends and what they think. Sometimes I could get very good stuff out of these racks!

True! I agree with you, sometimes it's a lot easier to shop alone than with your friends - that way you don't have to compromise where you want to shop (and which sections of the store you want to shop in). Thanks for the answer! :)

When I was a kid K Mart used to have these things called 'blue light specials'. They had this blue flashing light on a big tall pole and when it started up you knew that something by it was on clearance. My mother was drawn to that light like a moth. We always used to think it was embarrassing but now when I see 50%, 60% or 75% off signs I practically get giddy too. I rarely buy any clothes that aren't 'vintage' (thrift store finds) or deeply discounted. I'm love a good bargain (and I guess I'm a little cheap!).

I look around to see what the prices are and if the store is expensive then i go looking for the clearance rack. I like saving money and getting something cute when i go shopping. When I go out alot of people comment on my silver flats and i secretly smile because they were $5.00 and other stores sell flats like them for $25. I think that you should keep an eye out for the clearance rack maybe one day your friends will find something amazing like cute shoes or a hot skirt.

I always shop the clearance rack, it's ALWAYS my first stop, even at outlet stores. I've been told that I'm cheap, I prefer to call it thrifty....besides, if I pay less they full price I can buy more for the same amount of money. I have to need something really badly to pay full price for it.

I would (personally) call it "practical", not "thrifty" (which has a negative connotation, don't you think?) I find some amazing deals at regular retail stores as well as at thrift stores. And I agree, sometimes I will pay the full price if there's the need for it (although, you have to admit, there usually isn't!) ;) Thanks for answering!

YES. I definitely head straight to the clearance racks unless I'm looking for something else in particular that I know isn't on clearance yet. But why not? Shouldn't we try to save money first and foremost?
