Shower in morning or at night?

Shower - A showerhead that's turned on.

I'm curious to see how many people prefer to shower in the morning or in the evening before bedtime. I personally always shower at night, I have school in the morning so I don't have time to get up early and shower. Sometimes I get home late and am too tired/lazy to shower, and would then shower in the morning. Or else I have a special occasion to prepare for, and only then would I shower in the morning. What about you, which do you prefer? Happy myLotting!

Hi friend reichiru! I have the habbit of shower in the morning. But in summer season when I arrive home from office it is so hot and I cant withstand without having a shower in the evening too. I feel so comfort and so fresh when I have the shower in the eveing. I will be finishing all my house chores and can go to bed at the earliest. In winter I used to have only morning showers. Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

I definitely agree with you here. There is something about the summer that makes me feel a little more grungy even if I don't do a whole lot. It is basically the humidity that makes me run to the shower a couple of times a day. I just like to feel clean all of the time.

Yeah it definitely is super hot sometimes during the summer, I would take two showers also during the really bad heat waves. Thanks for your response!

..yeah.. you're right.. doctors say its a natural feeling for pregnant women to feel that way most especially that there are changes going on inside us.. and more, we are using more energy than what is usual.

Wow it's different when you're pregnant? I've never heard of that before. But I almost never take baths anymore, our bathtub went kind of gimped 4 years ago and we've never used it since. Thanks for your response!

I dare not face the world without a shower in the morning and without being freshen up.It is customary and a ritual in my country to have a morning bath.It is a must for all the sects of the society ,the rich or the poor. Each person cleans himself whatever way he finds the water.Shower, river, pond or lake. And many of us wash ourselves several times during the summer.

I like showering in the evening before I go to bed better, it's not like I do much in the morning other than preparing to go out anyways. Won't really work up a sweat doing that, so washing my face in the mornings is all I do. Thanks for your response!

Hello reichiru,I like to take a shower in the morning when before going to work. Even though it is tougher to do I prefer it because I feel more refresh than doing it at night. Also taking a shower at night will make my hair standing up in the morning and it's a bit hazzle to make it look good. During the weekend taking a shower late in the afternoon is more advisable than in the morning, especially if I just stay at home and no plan of going out. Regards.

I shower at night, because I have more time and not in a rush compared to my morning routine.

I prefer to shower at night. I'm not a morning person, so of course I wake up at the last possible minute. There is no way I'm going to wake up early to get a shower. When I wake up I want to throw on some clothes, brush my teeth, and run out the door.

Haha same here with me. I usually wake up, then spend 10 minutes in the washroom, another 20 minutes fretting about what I want to wear that day, and then 10 minutes to eat breakfast. So I basically have no time in the morning to shower with all my dawdling and stuff. Thanks for your response!

It depends. If I worked my butt off at work then I like to get a shower as soon as I get home. If it was relaxed , then I just wait till before I go to bed.

I shower at night. I know there are a lot of old wives tales about letting your wet hair dry at night, but they are just wives tales. Unless you open a window on a winter night, you're not going to get sick from sleeping with wet hair. I also read that it is good to shower at night because it gets all the pollutants that may have settled in your hair or on your body during the day washed off, so a person doesn't inhale them as they sleep. You know, allergy pollutants, any kind of smog that sticks with a person. We can't see it, but it is there.

Yeah you do get lots of germs on you during the day, especially when there's a virus going around (half of my school is sick right now, thankfully I haven't caught it yet). So showering before bedtime to wash that all off is definitely a good idea. Thanks for your response!

I always do it twice a day. Once in the morning, mainly to tame my rowdy pillow hair. And also to wash away whatever sleep is left in me so that I can prepare for work. Once in the evening, usually before bedtime or after dinner. This is to clean myself before I climb into bed. After a long day at work, a hot shower is always welcomed to end the day before I rest in my bed.

I cannot afford not to straighten my pillow hair in the morning. Cos it will frigging stay pillow-haired for the rest of the day. So the shower in the morning is a necessity!

I prefer to shower in the morning and early evening just before going out. I find showers too invigorating at night so prefer to have a relaxing bath before bed! If I'm working it's usually a very quick wash as I'm too lazy to get up early enough!

I too prefer a shower for cleanliness but find lying in a not-too-hot bath, the perfect way to relax and ease the aches and pains I get thanks to Arthritis! It's especially relaxing if I use a lavender bath oil! My father-in-law used to have a wash then get in the bath lol

The weather here in our country is quite humid that is why I shower in the morning before going out of the house and when I come back in the evening I take my shower again before bedtime.Even if I'm very tired at night I take a shower to have a good night sleep.

Hello friend! Trust me, there is nothing like a shower in the morning. I know it sounds really difficult but just try it out for a few days and it will work wonders for you. It freshens you up and sets you up for the whole day. It fills me with confidence to take on the entire world! Being an Indian, I believe in the country's mythology and even there it is clearly mentioned that a shower in the morning is better than one at any other time during the day. I am not against a shower at night. Just presented my point of view. Thanks and happy mylotting!

Yes I understand what you mean, a shower in the morning does wake me up well whenever I have tried it before. But unfortunately, I'm a student who tends to stay up late, and has to get up early in the morning, so I can't take showers in the morning. Plus I don't want to wake the rest of my family up too. Thanks for your response!

Yes I totally agree with that, whenever I have headaches I always shower earlier than I usually do to try and get rid of it before I go to bed. If it doesn't work, then I take a nap. Thanks for your response!

Is it due to all the extra weight you're carrying around? I've never heard of that before. And yeah when I was in Taiwan I would take a shower twice a day during the summer, because of the heat. Thanks for your response!

I tend to have a shower in the morning before I go to work in which case I make sure I go to bed earlier than usual so that i feel fresh enough in the morning. Sometimes if Im still feeling sleepy ing the morning I will bot bother with my morning shower and have one when I come home from work or make sure I have one the next morning.

So you sometimes go for a day without a shower if you don't shower that morning and come home and decide not to shower that night as well? I would never be able to do that, I must shower every day or else I won't feel comfortable. Thanks for your response!
14 Feb 09
I make sure I have a bath or shower every other day. If you shower/bath every day then you are getting rid of the body's natural oil. I can understand washing everyday to freshen up, which I do but I feel there is no need to bath/shower everyday, as long as it is done regularly. Thanks for sharing your view.

I can't shower in the morning because the water isn't hot yet. I shower mid afternoon when the water is hottest. I have a solar water heater and don't want to turn the electric part on and pay for electricity just to shower earlier.

They save a lot of energy. Everyone has one in the Middle East. Most people have a timer or switch that can turn the electric part on when needed. Mine is just broken and I haven't got around to fixing it.

Pretty much I shower with my partner in the morning. If for some reason I do not shower with him, it will be later in the day when I do. I shower at night sometimes after I have had a long day at work.
