Matter of fact I have been thinking of my best friend when I was a kid Roswita ..only don't remember her last name as she is German. I think she is thinking of me too because everytime I have someone on my mind..that person is thinking of me. I wish to know where she is..

All three of our daughter's have been contacted by high school and college friends. They love it. I don't have a Facebook account. Just not interested at this point. i usualy do but not in facebook. these sites are really exciting especially when we happen to bump inot long lost friends.

Isn't that lovely about facebook? I think that's really great for reconnecting with "old friends". I am on there as well and it's really easy to maintain connect with everyone else, I just love it! Hope you would enjoy it as much as I do.

Yeah,exactly.In the point of your event,up to now I communicate with my mates who havenot kept contact with each other for couples of years by means of XiaoNei Net.In that point,I prefer to consider the Internet to be a bridge to connect our memories and emotions.

I also find some long lost friends when I signed an account for Facebook, maybe they have searched our names from Facebook that's why they find us.

I'm happy for you, TnWoman. The internet really can make the world seem smaller. I wasn't too keen on joining social network sites before, coz I thought it makes your life too public. But I joined Facebook last year only because I had one of those "OMG" moments. My daughter found her biological dad on Facebook through a friend who searched his name. He's never seen her all his life (She's now 19!!) and lo and behold, suddenly he's there!Her dad and I never got married as it was a very short affair, and we drifted apart after she was born. We've both since moved on and found our lifetime partners. I'm happy that my daughter and her dad found each other. They are now communicating through emails (and Facebook chats) and making plans to see each other. But all things considered, after we all got over the shock, I think it's wonderful to find old friends (and lovers, hahaha)through FB. I've reconnected with relatives in other countries, schoolmates whom I haven't seen for 30 years and friends through FB. My daughter got the best Christmas gift last year -that of finding her biological dad. Now she has 2 dads, my husband (her stepdad) whom she's known all her life and her birthdad. She feels blessed to have them both in her life.

Thats what myspace and facebook are for.. connecting with people you otherwise would never talk to. I found a friend that I hadn't heard from since I was in 6th grade.. I no longer use facebook or myspace. Its more trouble than its worth, plus all those younger kids getting into tons of things they don't need to be on them.

I think facebook is the best site for meeting new friends and finding old ones. I have several that I have not heard from in over 30 years...Its so exciting to reunite with them and see current pictures...Also when I joined facebook , i also joined world friends where I have met many wonderful people all over the world. I have learned lots of new things. Its amazing how we can now talk to people on the other side of the world. But be carefull....facebook is very addictive!!!....lol... You can search for old friends my name, also through classmates.com and by school names ..there are ,many different ways. Good luck and have fun with it!

That's really an excited and happy thing. I'm always looking forward to coming across my friends whenever and wherever.But it never happens to me. If i were you,i will be so excited too.It's relly a pity to lose an old friend,and it's really a happy thing to meet him/her occasionally.

I have let fear of new things stop me from going to facebook. I have read horror stories about it. I thank you, TnWoman, however, for bringing this subject up. I have read all the replies you have received and think I will go check facebook out. I hope you and your long lost friend make a new connection and become "friends" again. I love hearing about these stories. I have not ever, via the internet, found a friend from long ago. But who knows, once I have checked facebook out, it might be a different story. If your friend does live near you, would you like to meet her again, in person?
