Its been a dull depressing, winter and that's how I've been feeling all day — well the dull and depressing bit
Have you got the blues, do you think the bad weather affects our moods and how do you cope when you're feeling down?
I have found that the best thing that helps me is to listen to some of my favourite music turn it up loud and sing along...

I have actually heard of the SAD disorder before. I think that a lot of people experience this. I know that I feel a little more discouraged or blue when the weather is more dreary. The dark winter time doesn't help much for a good mood either.

I think that I get affected adversely also when it is too hot. It makes me a little more irritable especially in the humidity of summer time. A pool is a great way of cooling off that's for sure.

Hi Riya,
Yes, sometimes it affects our mood. In winter if it is too much cool then don't feel to do anything and wish to sleep or like to be wrapped in the blanket. If it is heavy rain the same feeling may happen. Don’t like to go out because water is everywhere (lol). But I love to watch the rain from inside the home.

yes!it is very depressing/Days with no sun, lots of snow or rain, makes me grumpy, touchy, moody - too much.
Once, a scientist told me that the athmosphere is filled with negative ions, from the rain, and they affect our mood.If it's scientifically proven, than we're "good".
Also, they say that taking extra vitamin D and B, helps improving the mood and the good feeling. The only problem is that every time I go shopping, I forget my needs, always in mind with anyone else's needs/
I think that I'll ahve to make a list for myself only.

I think if it is extreme weather conditions, we feel uncomfortabe and uneasy and this in turn can effect our mood. Suppose, it is very hot, humid or very hot and dry, very chilly and cold, it will efffect our day to day functioning. If the weather is pleasant we get a sense of relief and we enjoy disposing of our tasks. I do not feel comfortable in extreme weather conditions.

Yes music can be a big help.
Keep yourself busy, so you don't think about being in a bad mood.
That usually helps with me.
As for the bad weather being an influence on your moods.
Yes indeed it can be. But, you can be stronger!
Take care, keep smiling!

Eating helps me as well, but is not good for my diet.
I am not in a great mood today. The weather is terrible, gray outside and cold inside. I don't feel well at all. So, know I am going to take a shower once I have
replied to all my emails. Then I should feel better again.
So, we could put that on the list too. "Taking a shower."
Take care, have a nice day.

Yes, it can if you let it. If it is cloudy and gloomy outside, then it will make my pace inside slow. I will feel like I don't want to do anything but just recline back on the couch or lay in the bed. It can have an impact if you allow it to. And sometimes, I am glad when it gets cloudy or rainy, that gives me a good excuse for staying home..

Yes in some ways the weather condition affects my mood in one way or another. Say for example if it's gloomy and cold outside, so I tend to just stay home the whole day and miss the things i might be doing outdoors. It's winter time by now and i felt am very much confined inside the house and was quite limited to to the normal things I used to do when it was warm.

hey -riya- hope you are doing well :)
oh yes, rainy day blues, aren't they just peachy? LOL
I find the weather affects my mood and my energy level/motivation.
Cabin fever plays a big part in it too, over the winter, here in Canada, unless you board or ski, people dont go out much. We kinda hybernate with the bears :). Dont have this worry too much if you live in one of the larger cities, but for country peeps such as myself it plays a role.
Work doesnt count, thats mechanical ;)
I am very somber on rainy days, really have no motivation for work. The sunny days, well hell, I am bursting with energy, only thing that sucks about summer is that we still have to work :(
Our winters are what suck, well, dont get me wrong, we have beautiful days with the snow falling and scenery, but man, The world looks nice from inside your house, but then mother nature bites you in the a*s when you walk out the door.

i have seen kids wearing tshirts and shorts on some pretty chilly, and yes, even snowy days, yet, when its hot as hell out side they are wearing long pants and 3 shirts...
oh to be young!

Sometimes the weather affectsmy moods. Like in the spring when we have a really nice day I get all chipper and am in a really good mood. Of course in the winter when you have the cloudy days or in the summer the rainy days just make you very gloomy.

it definitely affect our moods.. but i like the weather in moderation like not too much sun. i love the rain when its only enough to cool down the surroundings and windy but not raining. The rain gives me a sense of relaxation. its like the earth is watered and cleanse from all its dirt.

yes it is proven there is a mood disorder that affects people who do not get enough sun light. In areas of the world that do not have a lot of sun light some people get depressed because they do not see the sun enough. Some people have to get it treated by sitting under sun lights. Not the lights that you can get tanned by but actual lights lights that mimic the sun.

yes many a times weather does play a major role in our changing moods.sometimes if we had a great day and in a great mood to go out with family and then suddenly rain plays a spoilsport then we get really annoyed.

Hi ya riyasam
I think the weather certainly does effect my mood. I supposed to go swimming this week but it has been cold and I haven't felt like it at all. The cold weather seems to make me lazy as all I want to do is stay in the house and keep warm! I have to go out and pick my kids up from school which is a good thing or else I think I would simply go into to hibernation for 3 months! LOL Hey wouldn't that be great?
