Do you think tags...effect our earnings?

Ok so this is something that i was thinkng about after posting in another discussion. After we make a response or start a discussion, and even when we send a private message, or add a picture, we are asked to tag it.
Is it possible that these tags effect our earnings? Think about it the tags determine the ads that are posted on the discussions. Different topics are more popular therefor those people pay more for thier ads. So in turn would good tags not increase our earnings?
Just a thought what do you all think?

hello kayla
i always tag every Mylot discussion that i respond to with tag words at least one time to the same discussion. if i go back and add a second response to the same discussion, i will not tag the discussion again. and i always add at least five tag words and that way your Mylot discussion cannot be highjacked and that way some other member here at Mylot cannot tag your discussion with mature content. always make sure that when you start a new Mylot discussion that you always tag your discussion with at least five tag words. i am pretty sure that that is the reasoning behind why that we are to tag our Mylot discussions. i hope that i have been helpful to you in aiding you in tagging your discussions.

Thanks for sharing that. Recently a new topic I started was filled with not nice tags. The tags are still there but the person who did it had their account stopped. I'm thankful that at least Mylot authorities did that.

I never knew 5 was the limit, or that people could tag a discussion with things like that. why would anyone do that...what could they possily gain by adding inappropriate tags to a discussion that is not based on that topic? I dont understand some people lol. I will from now on tag with 5...i always use lots of tags...but i never knew the magic number was 5. Thanks for the advice!

I think our earnings does not affect our earnings whether we place tags or not. For me, the purpose of tagging is putting "keyword/s" to our discussion, responses or images that we post. Try to place keywords or tags on the "Search" button and there, it will give you results according to the keywords you searched on.
It does not affect our earnings because mylot does not include tagging thereof....Or why not observe it. When you respond, try not to put tags then on the next day or after 2 days, try putting tags whenever you respond to a discussion. If the average earnings have no difference, then tagging has no effect on our earnings.

I always tag my discussions, and was told very early on that to maximise your earnings on here then you need to Tag your discussions and responses as well, as MyLot regard this as participation.
The same I believe also goes for rating the responses as well with the + and -, or that is what i have been told in the past.

Ya i do think that tags do effect our earning because one can hae an idea about what kind of discussion is this all about and if someone is interested he too can reply so that`s the whole idea of my lot so ya it has to effect our earning according to me....

i don't think there is something to do with tags when it comes to earnings. it is the number of posts that count here. The more posts that we make, the higher we earn. I just keep on posting.

Hmm...I wonder the same thing as well. Maybe i will start tagging more just in case.

I really don't think they do. I've seen a few discussions on this and there seems to be mixed opinions but I can't see anywhere in the Mylot rules or guidelines that suggest tags effect earnings. I think earnings are based on page views more than anything so one theory could be that tags get discussions more exposure (via searches etc), which gets them more page views and therefore gets you more money. I really don't think that's true though because Mylot's search engine is pretty much useless.
Another reason I don't think tags make a difference is that many times you can't enter them. A discussion will only accept so many tags. I think that the author of a discussion should have the ability to edit tags as they see fit. I hate that you wont be able to add a completely relevant tag and there's a whole bunch of garbage ones already on there.

its always better to add tags without forgetting. If we add tags its better because our discussion will reach to mylotters who are interested in that topic. Generally I used to write tags. Its not a big work. It takes just few seconds. I am not whether it reflects the earnings or not. I think it may reflect earnings..
