....so i guess I'd better start saving up some money to buy one. Unfortunately, right when I start to save a bit of cash to get one, something comes up. I'm hoping they'll come down in price by the time I can afford one. LOL
Do you tend to buy technology when it's new, or do you wait a few years till it comes down in price, and then buy one?

I'm usually the last to own something electronic, I have an iPod, matter of fact everybody in my family does. When we travel we all plug in and tune out, I'm sure the truckers on the road shake their heads but nobody ever wants me to change the station.

I usually wait until things develop for a while. When something new comes out they are always improving it and if you wait a year, the thing you wanted will be outdated. Have you checked on Ebay? Sometimes you can get some really sweet deals on there!

Hi Sweets
I'm one of those if it isn't broke
don't fix it and use it all up before you get new..
I don't buy because everyone is getting one..
I did go to a laptop a few years ago but
it was due to my health not just wanting the latest.
Good luck with your ipod quest..hope you can get one soon

You shoudl shop around, they also have them on ebay, and you can get a good deal on one. I have one and have not used it. but will soon, when we take off to Vegas next month, I have to wear them since my husband snores like a bear. I waited a while before buying one.

I usually wait a little bit. Technology is moving so fast, there's a new invention or upgrade every month. The Ipod shuffle is a good deal. Just for music though, no videos. I still love it.

I rarely buy anything new, I mean off the shelf, been there two days new. I usually wait several months to a year, maybe even more till it goes down in price a bit. I like knowing that in a few months time, any bugs that have popped up in the system will probably be fixed and that once the novelty wears off it will be so much easier to buy one at a better price. I think it's wise to wait awhile before you buy anything technological very new.

I, too, want an ipod and am saving and praying and waiting hoping that one with a decent amount of space will be in my price range. I have to save to get anything beyond the basic necessities so I tend to wait more than I want to. Sometimes, I feel its better to wait but I love gadgets and wanna be on the edge of that technology. It's probably wiser to wait though, don't you think? Because if something is a dud and a waste at least you didn't waste your money on it.

Yeah, I tend to wait until a product has been out a while before purchasing it. I don't have to have the newest of technologies. It's usually best to wait too, so they can work out any problems that they have with the product.

I want one too but I don't want to be spending $100 for one. And that is what they are
right now, to get a decent one. I too, like to wait till the prices come down when
new stuff comes out but I don't know if ipods are going to come down much. They seem
to be going up in price right now, not down.
I know I waited when I bought my DVD player and the price came down big time. Same with
my flat screen TV. But somethings don't come down, like computers. I mean, you can get
a cheap computer but if you want something good you will still pay a lot for it, like
years ago.
Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend,
Have a good mylotting day, Chris

I try and wait for some time when the technology is new. As and when time goes on you tend to see the reduction in prices and thus teh things become more and more affordable to you. But I think now you should buy your ipod as it is already cheap now.

I've noticed there can be a lot of flaws with brand new technology...
Depending on my needs/wants at the time,
I usually wait a while.

And I want a digital camera! Since I couldn't afford one, I went in for a manual one. It is a bit of a pain, but takes great pics. :) I had some developed recently and was amazed at the quality. LOL! But, I guess, like you, I would save up and get a digital camera when it comes down in price. I really love those cameras.
Cheers and happy Mylotting

We're always the last ones to get what ever the product is. We were so computer illiterate for the longest time that we thought other people were just smarter than us till someone showed us how to use them. Computers, digital cameras, camcorders, anything and everything inbetween, we're the last to get it and because of that, we've saved so much money and bought other things. We have a lot of stuff for only 17 years of marriage all because we waited till everything went on sale or at a way better value. In light of your money getting used before you're able to buy an iPod, look at it this way, at least the money was there for what ever the reasons you needed it for. You didn't go into debt by using a credit card. We're working on a nest egg for ourselves to have at all times just in case of an emergency and the gas prices might go up again.... we'll be more prepared.
Am I babbling? lol
