I had to weigh-in at Curves on Monday. I was down 3 pounds! This is great! My body is really aching though. This is especially true with my shoulders. I have to see a doctor to figure out what is going on with them. There is so much pain in them at night that I can't sleep on my side. Hopefully I won't have to give up exercising. I enjoy going to Curves. Maybe I'll just have to modify the workout.

Congrats! I weighed in at Weight Watchers today, and I lost 1.2 pounds this week for a total (since October) of 29 pounds. I hope that there is nothing really wrong with your shoulders, and I hope you get to keep on exercising! Good Luck and keep us posted.

I take each day as it comes. No sense in beating myself up if I eat a cookie or two.

I haven't stopped the exercise, but have modified the routine so I don't have pain in the shoulders. They seem to give me the most grief.

Good for you! I would say that you will have to modify, someone should be able there to help you. I would talk with them before seeing a Dr.. Put some cream on your back and see if it helps, just to see if it is just muscles. Vicks vaporrub works great.

I have tried rubs on my aching muscles and the relief I feel is only minimal. A hot shower helps along with a dose of pain meds.

Good for you on the weight loss!
As far as your shoulder is concerned you might want to get that checked out. If the pain does not go away after a few days it may not be a problem with your muscles. Definitely look into modifying your workout until you know for sure. Your muscles need to repair themselves before you work on them again.

I have not been using the machines that focus on using your shoulders. When I used them the pain increased.

Congrats on the 3 pound loss. I used to do curves and I liked it a lot. I quit going because I wanted to cut down on some of my expenses.
Be sure and stretch after your workout. Have they told you to hold your stretch? I never got sore when I worked out a Curves. I believe the stretching and holding the stretch helped.
I would discuss your pain with the instructors. They might be able to help you figure out why your shoulder is hurting.

I do the stretches after a workout. Sometimes I have to skip on a couple of the suggested stretches due to having such pain in my shoulder and left knee.

This is great! A good news indeed. It always feels good that your goals are slowly becoming into reality. I agree that losing weight is a very difficult thing to do since eating is so mesmerizing and that it's very easy to gain weight again. Just don't exercise more than your body could take.

Keep up the good work, Elusive! Maybe the pain in your shoulders could be due to the fact that it takes some people longer to adjust to an exercise program when their muscles have not been used so much. I have been losing weight also but mine is due mostly to modification in my diet since I became a diabetic.

The pain in my shoulders developed about 2 months ago, and was prior to beginning the exercise program. My doctor said it was arthritis without even checking. Knowing the symptoms of arthritis, I tend to believe that she is right. Just wish it didn't hurt so danged much.

Congratulations on your weight loss. I wish that we had a curves where I live. I would love to go and get fit again. Check with your doctor re the pains in the shoulders though. Are you making sure that you warm up before exercising? Muscle pain can be caused by not warming up properly. Take care.
