I have been wondering why, they have not included food production, and monies to promote the production and storage and transportaion of food? If they were to increase food production and bring the food prices down, it would help the economy . I am also looking at a few more facts, food banks struggle to meet the demands of the people, why wasnt there any stimulus directed to feeding the 20 million or more unemployed ? What in this stimulus has been done to prevent hunger or to help bring food prices down? Grocery chains have been struggling, many stores closing down, how does this make sense?

As you already know it doesn't make any sense at all. The food prices are still very high here as well. For many years already I can hardly afford to buy a beef roast at the grocery store and steak is out of the question, yet you talk to the farmers and they're getting next to nothing for their cattle. The unemployment rate has never been so high and getting worse with each day, it's going to get very devastating and very soon. I definitely am most concerned about food prices, Thank You for your post.

Grandma, these are questions that we have a right to ask. We elected these people and they are suppose to be working for us. I think we are getting a constant runarround. Its a shame but I do not see them working on the most crucial areas of this economy. Appreciate your response!

The farmers do get barely anything for the cattle. I do know people who rather than going to a store they go directly to the farmers find out when they are getting an animal butchers and say I'll buy half a beef from you...pay for the cutting and wrapping of their half and come out saving money because the stores charge so much more.
It cuts out the middle men and you save plus the farmer ends up making more too.

I agree with you! You have got the right ideas about this. We all need to think about this because this could well be an answer. This is the closest that I have seen to any reasonable solution.

These is very little I understand about this stimulus program. I see nothing that directly affects our everyday problems.

you said it all in one sentence my friend. If we are wrong then I would like someone to explain it and show us just how does this help? I am waiting for answers, because if there is any help in it, I would really like to know where is it?

It doesn't, but I don't see how any of this is going to work, if we can't get people back to work so they can buy things. Gas seems to be headed back up too.

You and I think alike on this, I do not see any way this can work. Its not any partty favortism, it is the plan itself and I do not see anyway that it can possibly work which means , we are in big trouble.

Some of the things in the package I do question too ....you question should be diverted to your senators.....LIke I don't understand when the governors went to Washington some of the requests they made like a golf course in Lincoln NE...we do have more important issues that need to be addressed.....like feeding Americans!

My point is they should have already been on this and quick , years ago. You cannot play with food shortages in a nation that is already overpopulated. They have their priorities backwards and as we are paying for it now, we shall continue to pay. This new administration has also bypassed any measures that would actualy reduce food costs because they have denied the funds to stimulate food production and competition which is the only way you can reduce the cost of food. Appreciate the response!

Hi eaforeman! It doesn't make sense! I think there shouls be a stimilus directed towards food too. The gas prices have went down and the food has stayed at the same price. There should be something done about that for sure! If everything keeps closing we will all be very limited in where we can buy our groceries. This is the way the poor keep getting poorer.

I agree! People have to eat and how can they neglect the most important area of all? I do not see any true emergency actions bring taken here at all. Anyone with a sense of reason can see what the priorities should be.
