Are men more intelligent than women?

I define intelligence as ability to respond to a given situation and environment. Knowledge does not always equal intelligence. I don't think you can say "men are more intelligent than women" because its simply not true. There are plenty of women who are smarter than men and vice versa. I think as a humanity, we are all capable of incredible knowledge and intelligence. Based on experience and expertise, people can seem more intelligent than they really are. A perfect example of this is between me and my wife. My wife is a service desk manager for a large IT organization. She sits there and talks about "the M.P. this months went a little over the C.C.R. so I think we need to readjust the D.S.P. in order to retract from the mistakes we made from the I.N. and the V.N....." Now I honestly have no idea what she is talking about but she sure sounds intelligent to me. On the other hand, if my wife sat down and talked to me about music production (which is my career path) she would have no idea what I am talking about when I mention XLR and 1/4 inch cables, Subtractor Synthesizers, elastic time tools, etc. So again, men and women are both intelligent being. We were put on this earth to share in knowledge and love. If you are a man, to think we are smarter or more intelligent than women is a dangerous notion. And for women, to think that they are smarter than men would be a wrong assumption. We are all creatures of intelligence and we should learn to share and live together in love and peace.

Ummmmm In My view Males are more intelligent from Women. Thats why man have lot of girlfriends more then women. MAns mostly work with mind not with heart. BUt women work with mind and heart also..so some time women loose in some feilds from males......

I think men get more opportunities to exercise their intelligence. Most women get married and have kids and that's their life but men go out and do things to produce and make enterprise work. That's the real difference.

Hi,on an average men are double the smart than women but, women are much more intelligent than men...you don't believe me...well here in my lot you will have that proof sooner or later...

this surely depens on person to person and surely I think that the woman succeed in focusing on a lot of things in the some moment,the men have not this ability

Intelligence is a term used to comprehend many abilities like, planning, reasoning, solving problems, understand ideas, abstract thinking , using languages and learning. Concepts of "intelligence" are attempts to clarify and organize this complex set of phenomena". There are also different factors affecting intelligence like biological, environmental and ethical issues. So I don't think that men are more intelligent than women or vice versa.

Intelligence...is knowing, imo. Facts and book learning account for some of it, but adaptability, experience, and intuition can account for the rest. So, from person to person, who is the most intelligent on WHAT. Some people have alot of skills, some only a few, but that doesn't mean they're the best. So how do you measure intelligence? Personally, I measure it on imagination. Imagination is the key to being adaptable, it plays a part in intuition. Einstein believed it to be very important to intelligence. Take me, I'm a girl whose best subjects in education have been science and math. My IQ's highest measurement's been up in the 150's...and it's lowest has been 125. But I don't consider myself a genius, because I've MET geniuses...and I know that I can't compare. I know where I fall short. Due to some of those shortcomings, I'm often afraid I'll lose chunks of my intelligence. Being male or female just determines the likelihood of how your brain figures something out, but it doesn't naturally say who gets their faster. It really is a matter of individuals. Everyone has the capability (baring genetic defects) to be the smartest person in the world, it's a matter of debate on why some get there more quickly than others and how. Some geniuses haven't even considered the how exactly, since it seems like a straight-forward question.

yes men are more intelligent then women, men will always think before he spends money or will think before he does some work but women will never think and they are just ready to spend money and well ready to work without thinking the defects in that and just run , well if a women finds some think that she wants then she will not think but just be ready to spend money without thinking the future .

intellengence has nothing to do with gender....its only the sense and the timing...in now way they are realated to male/female....

As far I think , No one is more intelligent than other till they try to improve themselves than each other , god has given the same powered brain to all the humans . So,It really doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman . The thing is how you are towards others out there and your mentality.Thats all

Hi, Lindery. i think the term 'intelligence' is too general. if intelligence refers to various qualities good for our life. there are surely some differences between men and women. from my expeirence, i feel men are more sensitive and more able to view things as a whole, while women are more able and more subtle in dealing with the detailed part which requires preciseness and carefulness. maybe that is why God creates man and woman to form a family, complementing each other to make it complete.

hh I really dont know I hope men are more inteligent but it is only my wish :D I think it depends on person.Some men are stupid more than animals but it is the same in women population:) But I thint it is 50 on 50 but on the world are more women then men so if it is 50 on 50 you know what that means:D

I don't think that you can go by gender really, I know some not to smart people of both genders, along with smart ones. There is so much that goes into being intelligent, how you were raised along with so much more. My husband says women are. I looked at him and told him he didn't have to lie. lol He said no really that we can do more at once and get things right the first time with almost everything. My opinion is the same that no one gender is smarter than the other.

I've to see scientific proof that men are more intelligent than women. Back in the old days women are usually kept in the background and doesn't have the opportunity to grow careerwise that men enjoy. But nowadays women are proving themselves good decision makers and some are actually placed in sensitive positions in government and in private businesses. I could say none is more intelligent than the other. but women usually uses her heart together with her brains. whereas men don't.

Intelligence defers from person to person. Some men are more intelligent than women and some women are more intelligent than men. However men are stronger physically and women are more stronger mentally. Women are more matured than men. But still it does not defer with gender. it defers with person to person

Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating the fruit of that tree of knowledge of good and evil read on (Genesis 3: 2-7). Both of them got the same knowledge of knowing what is right from what is wrong. Both of them have intelligence given by God and that we as a human being have the ability to subdue what is here on earth. So when you say about intelligence, it is just equal. God doesn't have favoritism. If men are gifted, the same thing that women too are gifted.

my take is it is depend on how to define intelligence, obviously men are tend to be more smart in mathematic and physical fields but women are born with good sense of imagination
