What do you do for YOU!

Do you make a little time for yourself in your week? In between all the other stuff that you have to do, is there an hour or so where you maybe just lie in the bath, listen to music, go for a drink, do a class (for fun). What constitutes "me time" for you?

I use to set a time for me if not every day, at least it's every other day.. haha..
I do not live life like every day's my last, but at I make sure at least for every single day, I take time for myself and do something I enjoy even at least for an hour... Talk to the phone with my friend, write anything, surf and share to mylotters hehe, listen to a couple of songs at a very loud volume, have a cup of coffee with my mom and chat for a while, or watch... ^_^
This way, you can always generate ample energy to proceed with what you are doing... ^_^

tatikika, that's a really good idea. I used to do the same when I was at my last job. I went swimming a few mornings a week before work. It made me feel very relaxed, and I really appreciated this time just by myself. Plus it's so nice to be up and around before everyone else, and to be able to appreciate the early morning - which is actually a lovely time of day that most people miss!

I found time before the rest of my world wakes up. No one will need me or call me before 6 AM. So I am packing my work clothes, and leaving my house in sweat pants. I have an hour free from concern at the gym to exercise. My body and mind feel more healthy. It's been only three weeks, and I'm happy to say I'm actually making it happen.

Hi P1kef1sh. This is a very nice question. Now I finally remember, I'm not making enough time for myself. You see, I work in a BPO industry. Where the workload is long, heavy and seems endless. My normal working schedule is 9:00 p.m to 6 am but I normally leave the office later than that. I starts giving me the cramps and backache due to long hours of sitting and working in front of a computer. However, I try to enjoy my life on weekends. Sometimes I invite my friends and I prepare pasta or some desserts for them. We watch movies online, walk in the park and go mall-strolling. I sometimes watch cartoon shows with my siblings. If feels young to spend their kids. The long working week is pretty exhausting so I think I need to find some ways on how to make time for myself in between. I hope you have enough time to relax no matter how busy the day gets. :)

Whenever I take my shower at night that's pretty much time for me. Plus, I stay up a little later than everyone else, so when I'm alone I get to relax and do the thigns that I want to do without being bothered too much. Other than that, I don't have much time where I can do things for myself.

At weekends I often spend most of my time alone, without any friends around or whatever. Perhaps I, who don't have many friends to have fun with, would be regarded as a "loser" in the eyes of most Americans. Not that I don't like to spend time with my friends. But anyhow, I like the idea of being alone and doing something he likes. Sometimes I would spend a whole afternoon practising Chinese Caligrahpy indoors and singing pop songs or watching movies online.

"me time" is the time I am on the computer doing what I want. And connecting with friends. That is what I consider me time. And if not able to get on the computer then maybe taking the time to read a good book.

Wait, stop the presses, where do I request this 'Me time'? Me time what is that? Ok so I answered your questions. Wait, 'me time' is when I get to go on the Staten Island Ferry and see the lady.

Funny, the last time I went to the Ferry, I picked up some US TARP papers and notes from the hearing.
I do go once a week, maybe next time I will get more papers on the other crud going on here.

"Me time" for cinders consists of having a couple of hours on facebook or mylot or listening to the tv while doing abit of cross stitching. I really enjoy this and it helps relax me, I also enjoy having a good munching snack if there is something really interesting on the box.
What "me time" does pikey get to enjoy??

Quite few people sew and stitch. When I used to frequent military people, especially overseas, the wives used to have weekly sessions that they called "Stitch and b1tch"! But relaxing sounds much more profitable. I get some me time to. I read, listen to music or garden. XX

I only do the stitching, not the b1tch1ng as otherwise it wouldnt be me time and I would be so engrossed in the b1tch1ng that I would put down the stiching!!! lol
Are you able to do all three at once?? Sit in the garden, reading while listening to music!! Have you been taking multi-tasking lessons pike??!! lol xxx

Annoyingly I don't get very much me-time at the moment. In the evening when my daughter's asleep I often plonk myself in front of the television, but these days I normally just fall asleep! So sad, lol! I'd like to find a relaxing hobby that I can do (preferably one that I have to leave the house for..) I'm thinking of taking up swimming again. I used to love doing that, before I could no longer afford the extortionate gym prices . But it was very relaxing, so I'm going to try and pop off to the local swimming baths once in a while.

Yes, she can come too! Maybe it will give us enough stamina not to fall asleep in front of the television.

Hi friend! This is a good point that you have arised. Myloting is also a one type of time that we use for onself. We dont use the working hours to do postings when we get the leisure time we are in mylot having postings and making fun. But In a week holidays I do take 2 hours for myself and take rest in the afternoon and dont do anything. Sometimes I watch TV movies and have some snacks. Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

I enjoy listening to music in complete silence and peace. I listen to music either very early in the morning or late at night, with my headphone 'on', when others are sleeping.

My "me time" is spent first thing in the morning, around 6am. I then practice zazen (Zen meditation) where the mind is stilled and focused only the breathing. This activity helps me to remain mindful throughout the rest of the day. My other "me time" is when I sit down and play my piano and get lost in the music. :-) Derek

My way of getting my "me time" first thing in the morning is to get up around 6 a.m. Some people think this is mad, but if you take into account that meditation can be even more refreshing than natural sleep, I am probably better meditating than getting that extra hour or so in bed. If we have to go somewhere early and I feel there isn't going to be time if I get up at 6 a.m. I will get up earlier. I have trained my mind to wake up at whatever time I want to. I guess that ability comes with meditation practice too.. :-) Derek

I have always made sure that there was something that I had for me. When my children were young and I was in a very stressful marriage and was basically raising the 4 of them on my own AND working fulltime to keep the home together, I made sure that I did something. I have bowled in a ladies' bowling league for more years than I want to remember, and now it is twice a week...........some nights it seems like work, though. I also belong to a sorority that is a cultural and social group, and have for over 30 years. We meet twice a week from Sept-May. So I have always had my out time and was lucky enough to have family to keep the kids for me so I could go to do the things that I needed to do for me. My sister kept my kids most of the time that I worked and sometimes it was great to come home to dinner started!! She was also good at keeping them from chasing me throughout the house as soon as I came in the door......particularly to the bathroom!! lol

My sorority isn't the typical associated with a college one. It was started by a man for young women to have something to do besides sit around. It's a cultural and social club called Beta Sigma Phi, and if you check, there is probably a chapter near you!! We are international, with myself helping to start the first chapter in Africa a couple of years ago with a friend I have there!! But there are groups all over the world. In the city where I live, I am one of the YOUNGER members at the age of 54!! For some reason, the membership here is dying out from when I joined back in 1973.

My "you time" is sometimes on a Saturday when I do not have to go to work and my kids are not at home. It is usually a little lazing around, with the music on, make some juice just for myself and have it, may be some television with my favourite show, or else just rest and reading.

Does a bear mess in the woods? Me time? ALL time is Me time! Here I am alone all day - unemployed, unemployable and unimpaired. I can read, write, swim, eat, dance, dress up in a bear costume and mess in the woods ... in fact, it's pretty hard finding time to do anything else ...

Did you know that a sheep only digests 50% of everything that it eats? The rest is useable fibre. So be like a sheep and make sheep poo paper from those fibres- or bear poo paper. Suddenly you have a rich source of second income. LOL. That's the job sorted. Now relax!
