What? Giving best response in less than a few hours of posting your discussion?

What do you think about that? Well, I have to be honest, I'm behind, like months behind on giving my best response for my discussions and I do need to work at that. I'm not here for best responses but I'm greatful when I do get one. I was just very surprised this morning when I noticed a discussion posted and within a few hours I went back to it because I was interested in others responses to it and noticed it already had a best response. I'm not sure if people play favortism here or they really just absolutely loved that response but I think we should all wait a little more than a few hours, lol. In my opinion, if you notice your not getting any resonses to that discussion and it's just totally dead for like a week, maybe even two, than yeah, give your best response to whoever you want. But if it's getting alot of responses and you notice it's still active over a week I'd still wait untill I notice the responses are dying down. What are your opinions on this?

I'm one of those who did award the best response a few hours after posting a discussion. And I think I will still do the same for any of my discussions that are looking for somewhat specific answers. I may even give the BR right away within an hour as long as I think and I feel that what I'm looking for is answered adequately by a responder. But for discussions that I really meant for the real sense of discussion, then I have to stall giving the BR until I believe the thread is buried for good.

Really, within an hour? I guess everyone has their own ways on how they work here but I really don't think you're giving others a chance if you do it that soon. Have you ever done that and found that later someone else had a better response than what you picked? Now sometimes there are always more than one best response and it's difficult to choose one but an hour, really, I think is way too soon.

It's fun responding to discussions so thanks for starting this too.
Fortunately, no, the later responses after I've given the BR are good but no better. But as I've said, I was just looking for facts so there's not much leeway to expand the discussion.

I don't think it is fair to hand out Best Responses that quickly. Some people on your friends list may not even be able to check their email that quickly. I normally wait at least a few days before handing them out.

Yes, it is unfair. Maybe some do have favorites here but everyone deserves a chance. Atleast wait till the next day if they can't wait that long I guess. Thanks for responding:)

That is a good question. I think waiting to get as many responses as possible before deciding on the best answer would be the right way to go but the person is in charge of what he or she wants to do in this matter.
