Woohoo I made it another RE-BIRTHDAY

Today is lucky Friday the thirteenth of February. It is the third year since I came home from the nursing home after learning to walk again. I had an accident on the previous October when I slipped on the kitchen floor and laid there for 3 to 5 days before neighbors came to investigate the continual howling from my three little dogs. At the hospital I was given 3 hours to live...well as you can see that was wrong but I was told I would never walk again as I had broken my back in 3 places. So I was sent to a rehab nursing home in an amazing 4 months I was walking, able to come home and take care of myself and my one dog who was left. I am still considered a walking miracle so I give motivational talks at the same nursing home. Do you considered Friday the thirteenth of February to be unlucky?

Congratulations on your miracle. In the future, when I fall, I will never complain again when I skin a knee or get a bruise.

Wow, that is so good for you! Definately a walking miracle! It amazing how often doctors are wrong! I don't consider Friday the thirteenth to be unlucky. I have to admit that sometimes strange things happen, like this morning while I was in the bathroom/laundry room, we have a shelf up high that was holding some old clothes and stuff and all of a sudden it fell, knocking the box of laundry soap off the top of the dryer and spilling all over the floor and clothes! But, really, that could have happened tomorrow or yesterday or next week right? I try to be positve about things and tend to go against the flow when it comes to luck. Happy day!

Oh lucky whiteheather, God must have sent 3 angels in the form of 3 noisy dogs. A few days ago, someone was asking about miracle. Guess you really are a miracle. Guess you must be enjoying life by walking, talking and writing.

Wow good for you!!!! My step-daughter was in a car accident and doctors didn't give her any kind of a chance either. She sustained the same injuries as Princes Diana did in her accident. However my step-daughter pulled through, and is her own miracle. She's not walking, but she is living independently. Good for her, and good for you!

Holy cr%p that is awful! I knew about your back injury, but I guess I was ignorant in how it happened. I'm glad you are okay. I guess if you survived that, you can survive anything. I like Friday the 13th. I'm not superstitious. Just as many bad things happen on other days as they do on any Friday the 13th.

Wow whiteheather! I'm lost for words! You ARE one lucky lady, that's for sure!! Congratulations for making it and Happy Re-Birth!! I've gotta tell ya, when we lived in Texas, I fell so quickly on my kitchen floor that it knocked the wind out of me and the phone I had in my hand went sliding across the room! I had to scream to my mom to please wait that I had fell and hubby come flying out of the garage to see what all the commotion was about. Luckily I was fine.... that time. The next time was in Arkansas. Hubby was out running errands and I slipped and fell backwards and my leg was under me as I was falling and I knew I'd break it if I didn't turn and land on my shoulder and that's what I did which bruised the heck out of my shoulder and so my arm was in a sling for a couple of weeks. Neither incidents were anything like yours. You are one lucky lady!! I'm so glad you made it and are walking!! Many more blessings to you!!
