Do You Have Any Abnormal Phobias?

Acrophobia - fear of heights. A funny story for you....my husband and I went to Ausable Chasm many years ago. We were crossing the bridge and I stuck to him like a burdock. My fingers were looped in his belt and my face must have worn a terrified look as passers by would stare at me. Hubby told me to look over the edge, mistake. I nearly puked. I got vertigo and had to turn away fast.

I am boarderline agoraphobic. Which means I have a fear of going out in public. Mine is rather mild compared to some people that can't go out of their homes at all. I have a hard time in stores, closed in spaces, where there are lots of people. I can't tell you how many panic attacks I've had at the grocery store or Walmart. I do okay in open/outdoor events usually. I am on medication that helps reduce the anxiety, but I hate taking it unless I have to. Phobias are very real.

Good topic! I am completely disgusted by shower curtains. I can't stand for them to touch my skin, kind of like how you are with paper. They give me the creepy crawlies!

I wouldn't call it abnormal, but I get afraid of extreme heights. I loose strength in my limbs and get the shakes, I also have a urge to decend or halt. I got it pretty bad when I was climbing, if the rocks are unstable it gets worse, and when I make the top I find the safest place and sit down. I can't stand up there without crouching for fear of falling all the way down.

What gives me the creepy feeling is this material thats really just so disgusting..i really dont know what the material is called tho. ahhhh! just talkin about it makes me have the goosbumps!

Cars i cant cross the streets easily because im scared of getting hit all the time and i dont wanna learn to drive either i hate driving i tried before but i just couldnt get it right (omw why do i have to reply 100 times before something gets posted?)

ok i am scared of tents yes you have read it right tents. I can not go near one with out getting hot sweats and the shivers. I went shopping the other day and inside the shop was this big tent that people could go in and walk around. I thought ok i give this one a try as it was inside a building and there was lots of people around. As i was walking upto the tent i started to shake and i was sweating. I managed it to the opening of the tent and i fainted. The next thing i know i am sitting on a bench outside of the shop with a guy looking at me asking me if i was ok. I hate this myself as my children love camping but of course that this means that it can never be me who takes them camping. I have tried everything to get over this fear but nothing has worked yet. Please dont think that this is a joke because i am very serious.

My daughter is like that with cotton balls.

im afraid to cross bridges, cemetaries, and im SOOOOOOOOO AFRAID OF ROLLERCOASTERS I CRY AND SHAKE WHEN I LOOK AT THEM i hate it cuz all my friends and family lovessss roaler coasters and my bf too and we cant to go much to amusement parks exspecially like 6flags in new jersey bcuz i want to puke jus lookin at them they make me so scared and idk wat to do bout it, if anyone has that fear tell me if u kno wat i can do to solve this phobia, the worst is i get the chills TALKING about roaler coasters=(

It's not abnormal but I'm afraid of the dark. I'm 24 so thats kind of bad. I am just starting to get over my fear of haunted houses which started because of being afraid of the dark and being forced through a haunted house as a kid. I started to work on concuring my fear of haunted houses a few years ago. I felt so stupid because we went through one that we had been through the year before so I was feeling condident, but they changed it drasticly. When we first walked in we were left in a pitch black room for a few minutes and then the next room was barely lit and scary and I lost it. I started crying and had to be led through the rest with my head buried in my boyfriends back. Yeah, so my fear of the dark is pretty bad. The power went out in a few places that I have been in and I was alone in pitch blackness one time and another time there was still a bit of light. This caused me to go into a panic attack. I still have nightmares pretty often that leave me very disoriented when I wake up and being in the dark makes it worse. When I open my eyes I don't see the room, I see whatever was in the dream. My fiance' usually has to talk to me and hold me to bring me back to reality. I clearly remember waking up one time and All I could see was this pattern. I couldn't see the room so I had no clue where I was. It scared the hell out of me because I knew I was awake but I felt like I was in a box. I kept trying to feel for the wall but I couldn't find it because I couldnt see anything and had no clue where I was. CRAZY! Jeez, am I a dipshit or what, and I could still go on and on about this. So there's a bit about my phobias! I'm not a nutcase or anything I just got issues! HA HA!

I am not afraid of anything really. OK maybe i dislike stuff but i am not afraid of anything. paper is OK as long you don't get a paper cut ouch. but here is something i go by "there isn't really anything to fear, only fear within itself" understand that and you can conquer your fear

Papyrophobiac? What a term.... I didn't know it.... You fear paper and you are a student.... how weird.... I have only one phobia: the blood. I can't stand seeing the blood flowing. Once I liked watching horror films, but now I can't go on watching them because I can't see people dripping with blood. I go mad when I see such spectacles....
