Is myLot FInally Turning BAD?

I know everyone loves mylot and know that we would all miss mylot very much if it were to disappear all of a sudden one day. Mylot is the only online community where we get paid to share our ideas, make friends, and discuss our interests. (At least it is the only one I know.) Mylot has also been paying on time users for around three years now. Mylot is a great site and I know many people would agree with that fact.
However, recently I have noticed that mylot is not up to there regular standards. Earnings are not updating on time, accounts are being banned and returned a few hours/days/weeks later with the earnings all gone, PM's are still not sending 100% of the time (a bug that has still not been fixed,) and I even heard that one member did not receive their payment on time last month.
What do you make of this? Do you think that mylot is finally falling apart? Are they finally losing their greatness? Or do you think it is just temporary? Share your opinions of mylot's future.

No snam!
It's not turning bad or anything similar in my opinion.
Yesterday was Friday, end of the week, and maybe they had a meeting that went over the schedule time and they did not get everything done.
Maybe they left work early to buy Valentine presents.
They have had extra work to deal with yesterday as they paid us.
They must have had a lot of extra work recently too with all the bannings and stuff that's been happening.
Maybe they are only putting us to the test to see how we react
I believe in myLot. I believed in it when I landed here, I have been here almost two years and see the progress and I believe in it in the future!

I hope you are right. Your reasons all make sense and now that I think about it, it could very likely be true. But if it is true, then they have not been doing a good job as they did last year. I'm sure someone with your experience knows what she is talking about. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

There are many more members now than there were this time last year snam and they are increasing much more in recent weeks maybe due to the economic crisis and certainly due to the fact that myLot has such a good track record. Maybe they have not taken on more staff. More members to be paid, more mails arriving, more problems to be rsolved with the same amount of staff as a year ago would no doubt lead to delays.
That's what I want to believe and I hope I'm right, I really do!

That is very true. The population here is growing more rapidly then every and like you said, maybe it is due to the economic crisis and of course for its very good reputation. More members with the same number of staff would definitely increase all activity and lead to delays. I hope the mylot team can handle it all and I sincerely hope you are right!

Hello snam23! I have been here for 5 months and I haven't had any problems with them I don't think mylot will turn into a scam. They still work good and that I saw my earnings except earnings for thursday but I know mylot will fix it immediately. I even received my payment for January so there's nothing for us to worry about. Mylot is a trustworthy site. So everybody, let's chill and wait..hehehe..

I have been here for a similar amount of time as well but have had more trouble than many others who have been here for approximately five months. I know it is a trustworthy site and I have been paid in the past but we must stay alert.
If Neobux failed to pay someone, it would get so many people's attention. The same could be said for mylot. However, I think we should also pay attention to mylot's activity and any warning signs. I hope it will stay a trustworthy site. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting!

I think and hope that it is only temporary. I have noticed all of the things you have
mentioned and I have also noticed that we aren't earning very much these days. Like
yesterday I posted 60 responses and only earned 77 cents where in the past I would
have earned $1.80 for them. I used to earn, on average, 3 cents per posting but not
anymore. Now I am barely making a penny per posting.
So I hope these problems will be fixed and things get better again. By the way, there
are a ton of sites out there that pay for posting discussions and responses. Just ask
for some in a discussion here and everyone will jump on you because they will want you
for a referral.
Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend,
Have a good mylotting day, Chris

I posted 4 responses yesterday and I never earned a penny for them when I checked
today's earnings update. If this keeps up I will be quitting mylot. When I spent half
an hour posting them and not even earn one penny. I don't just post anything and I put
a lot of thought into my responses so it takes me awhile and then nothing for my efforts.

Hi there. Well, I don't really know about the other bugs you mentioned but it's kind of disheartening to see that myLot hasn't updated our earnings yet. It makes people wonder what is going on. Is myLot under attack or something? I don't know what the real score is but I do hope that this is only temporary and that myLot's admin would start looking into things.

That includes people like me. If it was for only one day, then it would not be alerting but it has been like this, on and off, since January. I'm wondering if 2009 will be the finally year for mylot. Everyone will hope it is only temporary as I have yet to find a member that hates mylot enough to wish it disappeared.

I am new to MyLot, very new. I have noticed anything bad about MyLot. I am very pleased with the social network we have here. I have met some awesome folks here and learned quite a few new things. Some of the discussions have been very thought provoking for me. I love this site and I hope it grows. I think it is awesome to earn money for sharing opinions and learning things and making friends. I have noticed that on weekends, MyLot updates are a tad late. I think this is to be expected as even God took a day off to rest. LOL

I don't think it is turning bad or something?
Have you yourself faced any such issue that affected you?
Build upon that, then you probably would know what may have happened. I don't think there is any need to generalize this.

I have faced an issue that has affected me. I was away from mylot for six days, I come back to find it set to "inactive." It took mylot over a week to reactivate my account. I lost $4 in earnings and lost a chance to reach payout in January(2009). I have also had my earnings not updated for over two days and my profile hasn't been saving correctly either. I do not know why any of these things happened and is why I started this discussion.

I do understand that you had to face the hard time. And am so sorry to hear about you loosing $4 in the whole process.
What I however meant to say was that don't generalize it, it promotes negative publicity. I do agree with you on this now.

I have been a member forthree years myself and I do not not think Mylot is turning bad. If you think that, than by all means take a break from here or leave. But do not stay in a community you think is bad.
MyLot is not the only online community that pays you. All you have to to is look through the threads on here to find many discussions telling of other such sites. You will get the same thingh you do here on them as well.
MyLot has never giving a certain time each day when the day before earnnings will be posted. Nor should they. I have seen MyLot post our earrnings at different times through out the years I have been here. I see nothing different happening.
Accounts usaully are being banned because peopel are not reading the guidelines / rules and are breaking them. After awhile that tends to upset people in charge. So, peopel get banned. Also people tend to say along of crap that isn't true just to get people's goat here on MyLot. I have seen it happen. Just for them to come bacak and say it was all a big joke at the vey end ina comment of their discussion. The PM thing is s glitch. It has always been a glitch. If a member did not recive payment last month. Than they either didn't make payout or they made it up.

I never stated that it is turning bad, but am just wondering if it is. And by "bad" I meant is mylot losing the quality it used to have. Is this the end for mylot? That would have been a better title.
I am here for more than the money. Anyone who is here for only the money will find themselves addicted or bored but never in between. I am addicted to this site and will never leave.
Mylot staff should put aside there feelings and act professional. If they are banning users because they want to and they are upset, and not because they feel they have to, then they should not be working for mylot.
I haven't heard much "crap" about mylot, but on it I have seen a lot of spamming. As I have said before, the glitch in the PM should have been fixed when it was first discovered. I don't know about the payment, but there are still other things happening that are making me doubt mylot's success in the future.

Gee, if you are so anti myLot, maybe you should just leave. I haven't had any problems with myLot at all and I have been here nearly 3 years. Some of the members can be a bit of trouble and I understand the difficulties those members create can cause problems but generally speaking I believe myLot admin to do the best they can and they always behave with ethics. I think it's a shame that some members who have been here only a short time have the hide to bad mouth them.

I never said I'm anti-mylot and I think you should reread the discussion if you think that about me because I am just listing some continuous and common problems that almost everyone is experiencing. And I quote myself "Mylot is a great site and I know many people would agree with that fact." I love mylot as much as the next person but it doesn't mean it is perfect. And I'm not trying to bad mouth mylot, I love it as much as you do. It just can be a pain in the neck sometimes, and that sometimes can be a lot these days.

I do not think it is turning bad. It could be that there are more members and with more members, it takes longer to update the earnings. I do get worried, because I do not go to the earnings page, and when I see that it has changed up a few cents, I immediately think "who was that idiot who used such bad language that the discussion I answered was deleted?" or "what did I do wrong," As for the accounts being banned and returned, it could be natural first reaction to a complaint and then after the one banished, says that they were not doing anything illegal and the mylot staff reads the discussions, they are returned to their former status.
If they had done something illegal, the banishment would have stayed, but other companies work the same way. Try getting reinstated if you were banned by Paypal. Not that successful and only after you have written tons of letters, etc.
So I would say much of it is oveload. Now myLot could hire extra staff to make the payments go faster, but in this economy, why should they?

I think that is the most logical reason that everyone is coming up with. Mylot should not ban someone just because of one complaint or someone could get everyone banned. I believe they look into the matter before taking action (as they should) but sometimes they take the wrong action. I would think that as mylot has grown, the mylot staff would have grown as well. But it could be the same size as last year because of the economy. Nice suggestions! Thanks for responding!

I sure hope myLot doesn't change. I have not been around for a long time but I sure like knowing this site is here when I can come back on a regular bases. I use to belong to other sites but left them all for there unfaithfulness and lack of respect for their members. MyLot as always been above board and I believe it will stay that way.

I have to say I have been a member for a while and that all companies have minor bugs and set backs. Not everything can be run perfectly all the time. Does mylot have it's share of bugs yep but I will still say that this is the best place of it's kind. I don't know what the future is for mylot here but I hope that it is nothing but good.

I don't think so. I joined myLot in May last year and have seen all sorts of problems. But, I also understand the technological side of internet sites and know that problems exist everywhere.
I've experienced the problems you've mentioned, all but losing my account here. I just wait them out because they always have, eventually, been straightened out, even though they come back in for a peek every now and then.
I've noticed, since being a member, that earnings are updated late on weekends, every weekend! I don't pay any attention to it. They will eventually be updated. My earnings seem to have dropped in recent months but even that is okay with me. I chalk that up to the ever-increasing population in myLot. To me, "sharing the wealth" is more important than complaining about lower earnings. The earnings here are icing on the cake, anyway... a really nice 'perk' for spending time in what I consider to be the very best social networking site to ever hit the internet!

Hey snam! I know that mylot has some glitches in their system,
but what do you expect with over 161,000 people on the site!
I think that they are still doing a pretty great job! My
PM's don't send and they haven't worked since I got here 8
months ago! But, for a site with so many people on it I think
that mylot is doing a great job! I love it here and I wouldn't
want to be without it! I'm sure that they will iron out the
problems soon!

That is exactly what I mean though. I thought a site with a good a reputation could handle over 160,000 members and work out all the bugs. That is another thing I mean, mylot has not fixed that bug in the PM for at least a year. I think they are handling it the best they can. I think they are just not used to this many people on the site at once. I hope these are all temporary bugs that will be fixed soon!

I am pretty new to this site and I really enjoy it. I don't see any bad things going around and the site is doing there best to manage all the members... the site has probably grown alot in the past 3 years... so things are going a bit slower.

I did not see anything bad when I first joined either. It was only after I was gone for six days that I started to notice new things, both good and bad. Different point of views is one of the things that make mylot such a diverse and unique community. Anyway, if you had your account banned after 5 months of no problems, I'm sure you would understand my problem. Also, I see no reason why I am banned after 5 months. I mean why not in the middle. I was gone for six days when this happened.
I do not blame you for seeing things differently, but you should remember to keep an open mind and try to put yourself in other people's shoes.

I have been a member since December 2007, and during that time I have seen a number of changes, most of them for the better. Occasionally there have been a few problems, sometimes caused by servers, sometime other causes. There have been a few instances when payment updates have been temporary delayed for various reasons.
During this time, membership has grown from less than 40,000 to over 160,000, you have to excuse the hiccups that occur. This is a good site, and has almost always paid on time.

I was hoping for something like this and nothing more serious. I can see how the number of more than quadrupling could cause some serious server overload and late updates of earnings and mylot being slow. I think it is time they invested in a new server, don't you think? I'm sure they have everything under control, or at least it will be soon. Thanks for consoling me with your response!

If you look at MyLot not so much as an online site and more of business which is how MyLot owners look at it...every business has hiccups or problems. Some ppl think that b/c it's online it should be able to be fixed quickly and should run like a finely set watch...businesses don't always work that way.
Despite the problems that recently happened, MyLot is one of the few sites I've found online that, like you said, pay members to do what they like to do. Generally they pay on time and it's a fun site. They also don't charge to join, require a certain number of posts or demand referrals to earn. That's saying alot.
I've been a member of sites that have simply folded up and left taking the earnings with them...MyLot has 3 years of good reputation behind them and in the internet world...that's saying alot too.

Yes, reputation goes a long way on the internet. The reason I asked this was precisely because of that. Even a site or business with a great reputation can disappear. But what you have said has helped me realize that mylot is a business to its owners and they are doing everything they can to live up to their great reputation. Happy mylotting!

I'm new, so I can't speak from experience, but so far I haven't had any trouble. Maybe they're just having a hard time keeping up because there are so many members? I mean, hey, stuff happens!
