Where Did You Meet Your Partner or Spouse?

As of now I don't have a partner, but I met my ex partner of 2 years on the phone chat line. I took a blind leap of faith and jumped on a greyhound bus and rode almost 24 hours to be with him.
I'll say that this story is a lot more scary than romantic. I was freaken lucky, or better yet blessed that the person I was meeting for the first time was harmless in ways that counted. He wasn't a rapist, murderer or anything weird.
Did I mention that I only talked to him on the phone 2 months before I jumped my crazy butt on that bus?
I haven't even seen a picture of him first. Hmmmm Unbelievable.
Whenever I think about how far gone my mind was, I just scratch my head and move on.
Where or how did you meet your spouse or partner?

I met my partner over the internet on a site called HI 5 we met up in the family chat room there. We took it form there we started chatting on MSN and then we exchanged phone numbers and texted and spoke to each other on the phone.
I travelled up from my home to where he lived in Scotland which meant a six hour train journay with my four children.
Then spent ten days with him in Scotland and when we come back he came with us and moved in with me and the children.
We have now been together four years in May and have a son who will be three in May.

My husband and I first starting talking in a chat room . We did that for a year before we met in person. We have been together 10 years, and are very happy !
You do hear of some real nightmares of couples that meet through the internet ,
and you have to go slow and be careful, but I think you take a chance anytime
you meet someone new, even with regular dating. For me blind dates are the worse, because you don't know anything about the other person.

I met my husband at work, we were workmates and seatmates at the same time. We were working on an IT firm and our cubicles were beside each other. He liked to knack jokes and I remember we were always laughing out loud that the whole office often heard us. Then we had our Christmas party. We were outside the office with our office mates and after chatting for a while, some of us went inside already and he said he likes to stay outside with me. That was the first time I noticed that he must have something in me. We were inseparable then.

I met my partner on the internet. We are both members of the same site, and it is a site where you can find friends as well as a partner. We exchanged some letters and then after a while we decided to meet in the town where I lived. Our meeting went really well and we talked for a long time, and decided to meet again. That was exactly one year ago (last year on Valentines day) so today we are celebrating our one year anniversary. We got engaged about half a year ago, and in May this year we are getting married.

we met through my bestfriend. they have been friends for a long time. she actually had no intention of setting me up. she just introduced us so we can all be friends. turns up we fell for each other after a few months of being friends and the friend who introduced us was just so ecstatic when she heard the news.
well it's been 6 years since that day and we're about to get married soon. and the friend who introduced us? she's gonna be our maid of honor.

My brother met my husband before I did. They became friends and my brother went to work for him. Well, he came to our house one day to meet my brother and I was there. We talked for a few minutes and after that he asked me out, but I would not go as he was into the partying lifestyle and I wasn't because I had a 2 year old daughter. After a few months of us talking and me turning him down for every date he asked for,he got into some trouble for drinking with minors and decided that he wanted my daughter and I in his life so he called and asked if he settled down and quit drinking if I would go out with him. I said yes and we have been together ever since- 15 years and counting!
He adopted my daughter at age 8 and they have a fabulous relationship and she is more like him than me.

I met my hubby ten years ago in our local nightclub. When I first ever met him we were both seeing other people and so although there was an attraction between us we did not do anything about it. The second time we met a few months later we were both single and so we arranged a date and it went from there!

I love to hear about Stories like yours that has a happy ending. Alot of people look down in relationships where the person is met in a nightclub. But I think it just all depends on the individual....There are good and bad people all over the world and just b/c a person is in a nightclub doesn't make him or her a bad person.

We met working in a theatre - North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly MA. I was working there in the scene shop at the time. She came in for a summer internship as a Production Assistant. We knew fairly quickly that we were right for each other, though we had a fairly long engagement.

I met my boyfriend ironically through my ex husband. Let me explain-My ex was incarcerated in the same cell as my boyfriend. The way we met was two weeks before my ex husband was due to get out (the first time), my boyfriend sent me a letter telling me about how my ex was going to continue to give me grief and then went on to tell me about why he was in prison ( a non violent crime which he regrets) he then said that I had the option of writing him back, which I did about 10 months ago. Since that time, I have no regrets, he is a very decent guy, and honest. We have a great relationship and I have never been happier. Its all good.

My husband and I had met on myspace. He was an artist that lived 84.6 miles away so there was never any discussion of a relationship.
Then there was a Saturday I decided to go get my nose pierced and for some reason I wanted to go to the Zen Factory. I had no idea why because I never went to that Tattoo Shop, but my best friend and I went.
When I walked in my eyes connected with a man and there was this spark. This tingling sensation I had never felt before.Well, through out my wait I could see and feel him watching me. We never spoke just locked eyes and moved on with our lives.
It was not till later on we discovered who the other person was at the tattoo shop. We have been together ever since.....

Wow! I don't think that I would ahve ever had the courage to do that. I'm glad that everything worked out for you but please don't let yourself do that again. I met DH at the swimming pool at the apartment complex that we both lived in. Six months later, we were married. We just celebrated our anniversary on 2/12. I guess that it's going to last...the wedding was 37 years ago. Best of luck to you and I hope that one day you meet someone who is as special as my DH.

Like you I met my partner or ex partner on an online dating program .Like you I too took a leap of faith and wnet searching for this person.Luckily I have seen a picture of the person before and spent hours talking to her .It worked for a while but then it crashed and I suppose these relationships have to involve hours of face to face talk and interaction. The initial talk is just a way to establish contact but in forming any meaningful relationship will involve greater interaction

This sounds kind of corny to say, but I met my partner at the bowling alley. My friend introduced me to him there. I was holding a friend of mines child and he thought that child was mine, so he was doubtful that anything could happen between us. A couple of weeks later we met up at that same friends house and he asked me out about 6 hours later. The sweet thing is that now I am expecting a child with him. :)
