Do you really trust that the pharmaceutical companies are working for us?

Personally, I always feel that the bottom line is more important to them than curing people's ills. Not to say that there are not good drugs out there, but there are drugs that they will not manufacture, and not because they don't work, but because they either work too well or not enough people are ill with the disease to make the drug profitable for them. I hate to say it but no and more often than not..I don't trust the doctors prescribing them either. I have come to find out a lot of doctors hold stock in these companies and I think they will often prescribe things depending on that. I now there are a lot of good medicines and good doctors but these companies rake in the money with unhealed sicknesses. It's a shame but I do think they use our illnesses to profit more than they want that cure.

I feel the same way as you. I also know, because I have friends in the school system, that schools get a credit towards their budget, for each child who is diagnosed with ADD and ADHD. So many kids are on Ritalin and it is scary.

Wow, I didn't know that about ADD and ADHD. That's scary. No wonder so many kids are "diagnosed" with it any more.

Thanks for the best response. I know what you mean about the ADD and ADHD. The sad thing is that gifted children often have ADD and ADHD symptoms because they are so bored in their current classes. Imagine the gifted children that are having their gifts doped right out of them..shame.

I don't trust pharmaceutical companies at all. Diabetes cure isn't the only one they ignore... if people get well, they don't make money. There are different kinds of sicknesses in this world and I think these companies are sicker than the people whose lives they destroy by withholding treatments.

You also need to understand that consumers and the public increase the expenses of pharmaceutical companies from frivolous lawsuits. Indirectly, we actually increase the cost of prescription medications.
