Second hand items can be much cheaper than first hand. I only buy second hand books and computer devices. But for other products like clothes and cell phones, I feel uncomfortable for using second hand. How about you? Do you buy second hand products?

The only second thing that i have ever bought is a bike some time ago. Else i prefer to stay away from second hand things although they may be cheaper, but one it can gets difficult to find out the true condition of it and how long before one needs to spend on it again. Here of course i'm talking about electronic items and bikes, furniture etc..

Hi alokn99. You reminded me that I have bought two bikes in my childhood. To be specific, it was my father who bought me the bikes. I begged him and he bought me. The quality was as good as first hand and they gave me an memorable childhood period.

Exactly. Second hand book has no different with first hand to me. When I manage to buy a second hand book, I just skim through the book to ensure it is generally clean, then I'll go to the cashier to pay for it. No hesitation at all especially when the price is so attractive.

Hi, jickyeung. Yes, I have bought anything that is second hand. It does not matter to me. I have bought clothing, books, shoes, dresses, skirts and anything that I can wear. If it still looks good, chances are it will fit well too. My grandmother once bought one of my children a car seat from the yard sale. And this car seat was gray and faded. Well, my husband did not want it for our daughter because it was already used. So, he complained about it. And we eventually gave it away. He was very concerned about the safety of our child being in this car seat. Many people say that it is not good to have a child in a car seat that has been used. This is because of safety purposes.

I have bought many things in second hand shops. In the beginning I only bought books and cds, but then I discovered that there were a lot of nice clothes in some of the shops, and since then I have bought quite a lot of clothes in second hand shops. It is cheap compared to the many of the new things, and some of the clothes are almost like new clothes and has hardly been used at all. I enjoy looking at the clothes in the second hand shops, sometimes there is nothing that I like, and sometimes I manage to find some really nice clothes. I have also bought second hand furniture and I wouldn't mind doing it again if I find something that I like.

i buy a lot of things second hand. if there is no problems with them I don't see why not. all of my books i get from good will stores. my daughter is 10 months and i think i have bought her 2-3 pieces of clothing. The rest was given to us by people who had girls and didn't need the clothes anymore. I have enough to last until she's up to size 3t.

I buy some clothes for my two younger kids at one of the local thrift stores. They are growing so fast it seems pointless to buy brand new clothes since they will outgrow them so fast. I also buy books at the thrift store- you can't beat a quarter for a softback book and 50 cents for a hardback.

Buying second-hand or used items can be a great way to save money and also get yourself some quality items you might not otherwise be able to afford. A slightly used car, for instance, is a much better bargain than a new one, as the new one is already worth less than you owe on the car loan from the second you drive it off the lot. Some types of furniture can be bought second-hand, and sometimes you find a treasure, like an antique.
If you don't want to buy used clothing, that is understandable. But many thrift shops take consignments from people. Often you can find new, never-worn clothing with the tags still on it in a thrift shop. And the price you will pay is a fraction of the cost when it was purchased in a store. It's a great way to buy expensive and fashionable clothing on a budget.
I shop thrift stores, yard sales and any other avenue I can to get the best products for the least amount of money. I hope I am not just cheap. I prefer to be described as thrifty.

The only thing I buy secondhand are books, especially novels. New books are very expensive; and I love reading and collecting books. So I would browse around second-hand bookstores, hunting for bargains - furthermore, many of these books are still in good-condition.
