Eggs are one of the most nutritious foods.Everyone consumes egg daily.
They are cheap. They are easy to prepare.Even you can consume raw.
Egg contains only 70 calories. They are protein rich, low in sodium, and contains vitamins and minerals.
But people are worried to consume more eggs because of the cholesterol content of the egg.
A large egg contains,4.5 grams of fat(1.5 gm saturated fat)and 213milligms of cholesterol.
The dietary cholesterol is different from high blood cholesterol.Only saturated fat increases the bad blood cholesterol.
So we can have one or two eggs per day without any problem on our health,as 300 milligrams of dietary cholesterol per day is recommended by the American Heart Association.
How many eggs you have per day?Do you eat raw or cooked?

I just enjoy my big smiles on reading your discussion content before I started my typing to make respond to your discussion. Because I'd learned something new during my Chelation Therapy and EECP Therapy for my heart problem. During my Chelation Therapy period of time, I have to take at least two (2) offspring chicken eggs or HDA~Omega3 enriched eggs prepared in a real half-boiled in each day. For what?
That kind of food intake and the method of statement for it is to reduce my cholesterol level. First week of intake, my cholesterol level shot up very high and I told my doctor as I worried for that weird kind of development. My doctor said, it is a positive development and asked me to continue taking that menu. The next(2nd.) week, my cholesterol level went down and below the standard level.
After that, I enjoyed six (6) eggs per day of intake. Completed my Chelation Therapy for 10 weeks, went for my HLB Blood Test and am really happy after seeing my blood oxidation level really almost nil and my red blood cell in very healthy condition while my cholesterol level in good and stable. BUT must remember, ONLY offspring chicken egg or HDA~Omega3 enriched egg is a healthy one. Till today it is a daily menu for six (6) eggs per day.
As seeing is believing, if you don't try you won't know it. A REAL HALF-BOILED.

Hi michaeldadona
Under Doctors advice, you can take whatever they recommend!Because they know about our body much better than me and you!
Of course you have also specified, what type of egg it should be!
U.S.Dietary guidelines and the American Heart Association recommends no more than 300 milligrams of dietary cholesterol per day.
So one or two eggs are recommended for a normal person.
As far as I am concerned,I don't take eggs except in cakes as I am a vegetarian.
For my heart health,I take omega 3 capsules.
Happy mylotting.

Yeah...you got your right point there. Whatever, it will totally depends on your blood pattern after you've tested. Without our blood tested we don't know about our blood oxidation level. To know more about our red blood pattern and the formation, you can watch this video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wtqs8gOqx1I

Average I eat about 1 egg per day depending how it is cooked. If it is hard boil then I will eat 1 by myself. If it's fried in omellete style then I will share half with my husband. If it's fried with sunnyside up then I'll eat it all by myself. I love to eat eggs..they are tasty and easy to cook and cna cook them in various styles.

i used to eat one egg per day.
But apparently, it's too high in cholesterol and not healthy to eat daily. *shrugs*
According to my mother and her "friends".
Anyway, now i restrict to about 4 - 5 in a month. That's about once per week.

Hi,
It will depend on Ur health status and how much calorie U can burn out of your activities. But, if U r Hypertensive or Diabetic,if U r having nephropathy(kidney related disease)egg eating will be restricted.Even diseases associated with Liver,egg- taking will be prohibited.
Geriatrics are recommended to take 1-2 eggs/week ,as their digestive system become relatively weak ti digest egg's high protein-cholesterol content.

I really love eggs, especially when they are mixed with some crispy bacon :)
I have about 6 eggs per week, I might need to increase this amount.

Regarding eggs... and cholesterol... the nay-sayers who demand that people restrict their egg intake are off-beam.
The yolks do contain cholesterol, but the whites (albumen) contain something (I can't remember the name) that actually lowers cholesterol. The net result is that eggs do NOT raise serum cholesterol and are, as you say, a GREAT food!

I don't eat eggs that often. I think I probably have a total of about 2 eggs per week. I do like them, but I'm not incredibly enthusiastic about them. They do taste nice, but there are many things that I would rather eat instead of them.
I do like them on the odd occasion though, they are rather tasty.

They say that the yolk contains high cholesterol.
But when you'r not exagerating eating them, then is ok.
I personally love eggs.Very much.
I could eat every day, lots of them, specially those hard boiled.
But, because lack of time, I eat them mostly on week ends when I have time to make one big omlet, with muhrooms, and cheese, lots of greens and onions.
And on the side, a big salad, with lots of tomatoes.
And a big glass of juice, does not really matter what kind, as long as I have a juice.

Hi muru,
Not every day I eat egg. Normally, I eat egg as a part of sandwich. Sometimes I mix it with other inggredients or vegetable that I cook. I also make an ommelete from it. I don't really like a raw egg because the taste is really weird although many people say it makes our body fit and healthy.

Per day. I don't eat eggs every day, but when I do, they are always cooked either scrambled, as an omelet, or sunny side up. Almost always with a side order of bacon and/or toast. Two eggs if it's sunny side up. Any other amount simply depends on the recipe and how much I want to eat.

I love eggs and I usually eat at least ine a day. I like them about anyway that you can fix them. Studies have shown that eggs are not as bad for your cholsterol as they once thought they were. As with anything, just eat in moderation. I mean if you eat a dozen a day they might not be so good for you! LOL My favorit is soft boiled eggs. I have one a lot of mornings!

I don't think i can eat an egg raw. Even if i have to consume egg, it is good for me to have three eggs once a week, i don't go further than that.
Even if eggs are good source of protein, i will not consume it on a regular basis. Yes it is true that it is with cholesterol and fatty acid, but i can only tolerate till 3.
I don't know abut my hubby if he likes eating eggs more than i do but i think that i can eat those 3 eggs if i prepared them in different ways, boiled, scrambled or sunny side up.
