What do you do for fun?

What brings you smiles and inner peace? I enjoy reading. I spend time writing. The family likes parks and playing games together. My son plays guitar. My daughter is creating a comic hero that saves the Earth. What do you do? What about your family? Do you spend money to have a good time or is cheap thrills? We have little extra money wise so I tend to find things we don't have to pay for or that has a less expensive way to go. Like instead of spending $6 a person to go to the movies, we spend that to rent two and make our own popcorn and nachos.

I enjoy reading as well, and my fiance and I will play video games separetely or together. Most of the time it's things like that. We aren't much for expensive things, so staying home and having fun reading, writing, and playing games is the way for us.

I love playing games as a couple! I read but hubby doesn't so I'll sit with him while he watches tv or draws. It's a little thing but it's couple time that's hard to come by once you become parents.

I have found that a lot of use music to sooth our mortal souls.... I'm hearing some now... I need to think what song.... American Pie maybe? Anyway... I'm not really good at video games. I like things like the puzzle games. I listen to music because I haven't ever been good at singing, writing, or otherwise. *shrug* I'm thankful to those who can.

I live alone ...believe me that is not much fun. I read a little and watch my DVDs over and over...my faves that is. I spend lots of time online. I wish I was a better drawer and painter because I would love to spend time doing that...it's no fun when you ain't good at it.. I love doing things on the cheap too. When I lived with my Dad a few years ago, I started buying ice cream cones and when he was watching the football on TV I would make him an ice cream...they were soooo good, he just loved them (he will be 96 in June), sometimes he would have2 or 3 lol. You've given me an idea...I think he might like nachos as well...about the only thing that gives him joy is being able to actually chew and taste something. He can't eat meat anymore cos of his teeth or lack of them and his taste buds have pretty much gone. Thanks

The fact that you care enough to find a cool neat thing to do with dad.... that shows how cool you are. Great job! My dad has ice cream before bed every night. I pretend to yell at him because it's bad to have sugar filled dairy before bed when you are on insulin but you know, it's a small thing in the scheme of things. I like my time online... it gives me a chance to talk to people over the age of 8.

For me, I think jogging may be the most efficient way to get rid of frastructure and pressure. Every time when I have many things to think about, or I am in low mode, I would like to jog along the river. It is so good to have fresh air around you and clean water beside you. And sometimes I may go with my friend, but I prefer to go alone mostly to enjoy a moment of peace in this crowded city. Besides, jogging also gives me a healthy body. I am not so sure of my other family members. My father probably smokes, but he is quiting now. So I am afraid it should be reading. My mother usually watching or knitting. My sister may go to KTV, LOL. As we are not a rich family, we don't spend much money on other entertainments. But I am making money now, we shall be able to enjoy more funs in the future.

It sounds as if you've mastered the art of enjoying your own company. Good Job! I too enjoy the water. I'm not a jogger but the water is very good medicine for the soul.

Just seating in the living room together with my family watching television show/movie, or playing board games, or just simply talking about anything under the sun is a great fun for me. Each one has work or school to attend to daily so we treasure when we have such not so frequent moments. Personally, a good book will also keep me entertained and be at peace with the world and so is spending some time playing with my pets.

Sunset at Camotes Island - The picture was taken when I went went my family in an island of Cebu. This is the sunset at Mangudlong Beach Resort.
Well, I love nature. So usually when I do not have anything to do, I go to good places where I can relax and have fun. Its like a short vacation. I go with my family and we usually do it on weekends. It could be in a beach or in the mountains. Its really great and fun.

I enjoy reading and writing. I read and then get inspired so I will write something. I also spend time with my friends or video chat with my boyfriend. I am working on finding different ways to do things without spending money, my boyfriend loves to fish and I'm not much of a fisher, so I will go and sit with him while he fishes just so I can be with him.

I was like that with my dad. I'd go and read while he fished. We would talk about all the things we didn't talk about in the "real world" I loved it. I always felt closer to him.

I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, games, traveling and going on the computer. (I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of right now.) My family is pretty active. Some of my other relatives just came over to the neighborhood, so it's kind of busy. Though most of my family loves to be outside. I often save money for something big, like for my family to travel to a place the whole family would like. (Only once or twice a year though, since traveling costs are going up.) Though occasionally, we buy smaller things to enjoy at home, like buying board games, renting movies, etc.

Bar B Ques? I miss the big family cook outs we had in the summers back home. Everyone brought something so no one had to overly spend. The guys cooked, Ladies did what we do best, and the kids ran around being kids. I miss having more family close.

We dont do as much as we use to do, as money has gotten tighter for us and we also have another child as well..she just turned 1 so now we could get out more, but it is so cold out, we have to wait til summer... when that comes around we have 3 parks near us that we love to go to... it is harder during the winter to find things to do that doesnt cost money, even if you go somewhere like bowling they charge for everything down to the rental of shoes... so we rent movies and stay home... and when the gas prices rocketted we couldnt even get out to much then either... so we got use to being home more...LOL

In the winter we buy the girls a happy meal and let them play at the play thing in McDonalds. We are a bit of health nuts so they get milk and apples but they think it's great. The littlest one is 18 months and disabled so he doesn't need the meal and doesn't play as much but he loves to watch the other kids. We do this a couple of times a month. I take a book to read. Hubby gets in there and plays so I'm off duty unless one of them is with us. It's really great.
