I have realized that many don't have home phones anymore but just the cell phone. Actually, I would also but where I live the signal doesn't get in.
I live in the forest at Lake George and I can't even have a computor so my mom told me to buy a laptom and she sells aircards that permits me to put it in my laptop and I can have the internet anywhere even on the highest mountain.
That is great idea..one can go in the bush and bring their laptop so if anything should go wrong..and you have no signal..get on the laptop and get someone. Of course the battery better not conk out hehehhe..

I only have my cell phone what the use of having a home phone if everyone in your house hold has a cell phone. Why make two bills when you could just have one, I think it is better to have just the cell phone and not the home phone because you can take the cell phone every where you go with the home phone you can't take it with you. With the cell phone a person can call you where every you are and if your out and about and need to make a call you can just use your cell phone. I really think cell phones are the best and I really think they are helpful to people. I don't think I will every get a home phone.

I prefer the cell phone better. It answers to my need of being in contact on the move. I can have it whereever i go. And then the place where i live in has good network signals. Ofcourse i have a landphone at home. Its cheaper than a cellphone. But, i can only use it when i'm at home.
Have a gr8 day.

I have just the home phone, and at home there are two phone lines in the house. My home phone and my mothers. We've been keeping it going for over two or so years now. At one point, it was three with my cell phone, well, four. Now it's just two.

I still have both. I have one of those bundled cable, internet, and phone deals so its like I do not pay for home phone. Not everyone has my cell phone number and I like it that way. Why pay for minutes for someone you do not really want to talk to?

last year, I temporarily disconnected my home phone (landline) and instead used cellphone. But my brothers who are living abroad find it costly to call on my mobile phone, so I decided to have it re-connected only this year. My cellphone can be used as internet modem, so I had no problem when I go online. Now that my telephone is back, I am into dial-up again but it's too slow.

I can't take my home phone with me outside the house so I have to have a mobile one. But my land line is part of my internet connection bundle so I can't neither let go of it. Anyways, there are advantages having both. If you need to discuss something or need to have a lengthy talk, then I have to use the land line than sending too much text messaging. Or if I'm outside the house and I need to check something at home needing immediate response, the home phone is very useful.

We have both cell and home phones so unfortunately we do pay line rental without really using the land line. It seems to work out at an ok rate in the end though as we need a home phone in order to get a package deal including broadband internet service. also home phones are best for emergencies in the home as mobile phones are quite unreliable even whene you have the latest one.

really u think they are unreliable for emergencies? for me they have been a real Godsend when I have been stuck in the middle of the bush and no one in sight.

I have both a cell phone and home phone. It is good to have both because if something happens to one you will always have another one. I have a friend who let her house phone get cut off because she now have a cell phone and do not want to have two bills. My home phone goes with my internet service.

I'd rather have them both. I use my mobile phone in sending and receiving text messages and sometimes in making calls especially when I'm on the road, while I use my home phone in making business calls, or if I need to call a certain establishment to purchase or to inquire something.
