Bad Weather

Don't you just love it when the weatherman forcasts BAD weather and warns you the day before, only to have nothiing significant happen? Yesterday the forcast called for severe weather with thunderstorms, high winds and hail. They said the bad weather would hit around noon if not before. Well the noon hour has come and gone and we haven't had anything significant as far as bad weather goes at all. In fact, we haven't had a drop of rain here yet. I just checked radar and there are a few showers showing up in a 100 mile radius but nothing bad. I am thinking this is another one of those cases where the weatherman missed his mark. Hehehe. How is your weather today? Did the weatherman miss the mark for you too? Or was he right on?

I hate that. It happened hear last week. THey kept saying heavy rain coming. About 80% chance. It only sprinkled in one part of mobile for a few minutes. Whats that 5%. I was mad. I was looking forward to rain. I had my umbrella and was completely prepared.

It does suck when you plan your day around the weather. Good days can be ruined with the rain and outdoor events or trips. Then when you expect bad weather, you cancel errands or things you need to do outdoors. Then your whole day becomes wasted when the bad weather never arrives. Arrrfff!

This goes along with my "end of the world" theory. Someone is always predicting the end of the world, and some weatherman...excuse me, weatherperson, is always predicting the storm of the century. I think they make these wacky predictions on a regular basis because, eventually chances are that they will get one right. Then they can say "see, I predicted that one, arent I great" because no one will remember the hundreds of ones that he got wrong. Thats just my theory. Cheers!

BTW-why does everyone depend on the weatherman? What ever happened to looking out the window?

I think I take the warnings of a weather man very seriously, by the time it turns out that things are actually not as bad as predicted, my moods will have been dented with negative anticipation.

I agree that those warnings should be taken seriously. Anytime your life is in danger you should heed those warnings. I just hate the easy stuff like rain being missed and then you change your plans and no rain. Geesh! I guess that just goes to show we don't live in a perfect world, right?

my hubby builds bridges so heavy rain is unsafe to work...when the forecast said heavy rains all day they told hubby to stay home...he normally gets off at 3:30 well heavy rains didn't hit til 2:30 he could've gotten 7 hrs. in...i was pissed. i think they should let them go in then send them home once the heavy rain hits.

We are having down pours, but so far no bad storms. I hope they don't hit either. We have had enough already.

Our rain and wind from the last few days was supposed to last the rest of the week. So I go and look outside this morning, and lo and behold, it's nice and sunny and warm outside! Yaaayyyyy!! I still say I could do that weatherman's job. Teeheehee!

That happens here all the time, its really hard to even trust the weather man anymore..Here i am looking for rain & it never comes...I don't think these weather people that give us the weather knows all that because it has turned out to be opposite of what they say....

Today our weatherman was right on the mark. He said it would be warm and breezy and it was. Its beautiful weather and my family has been making the most of it. Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler again. But Monday and Tuesday he was wrong. Monday was supposed to rainy and cold and it was sunny and warm and Tuesday was supposed to be sunny and warm but it turned out to be tainy and cold. He got the days reversed lol.

The news covers a wide area so even though they called for bad weather and it didn’t get your area, it most likely hit other areas near you. When we lived in Texas then Arkansas, we had several broadcasts like that. Even one saying a tornado was heading our way and it didn’t look like it but I thought it was best to leave the area just in case. When we left, we saw the tornado go up into the sky and pass over our house and it went over a mountain and got the next town and killed 27 people on the 27th of May. We’ll never ever forget that.

Well so far, the weatherman has been on his mark.. But, there has been days that he hasn't been. I hate the confusion. It rained yesterday. And it is supposed to rain today.. Which I have seen some rain last night. I am assuming that the weather will be just as accurate as what the weatherman predicts..

hello kareng
i know what you mean when you talk about the weather men like that. and they never get fired from their jobs either, lol, have you ever noticed that? it is windy around here in Middle Tennessee this afternoon and they say that in some counties around here close by, are under tornado watches. isn't that crazy for the month of February? also hail was reported in some area here earlier and they said that the hail was as big as fifty cent pieces! yikes! that is big hail balls. that probably caused loads of damage to different things in that area today like vehicles or who knows what. i am so ready for Spring time of the year and Summer time to be here once again.
take care and have a beautiful afternoon.
