Well Tn, I cant say that I've had Pinto beans recently or cornbread for that matter, but I do cook almost every day and this evening I had to cook my step-daughter's favorite which is Broccoli and Chicken Stir Fry! I make my sauce from scratch and its very yummy, and she even stayed home from youth group so that she could have it fresh and not warmed up. Yours sounds good, too though! Happy Mylotting today! (and save me some leftovers...)

The closest I come to that is navy beans and ham with cornbread but I haven't made the cornbread for years because it's so high calories and so irresistible! There's nothing better than good cornbread with real butter unless it's accompanied by navy beans and ham!

I have never had corn bread and pinto beans, but over the holidays I had ham and beans (which we use great northern white beans) with some corn bread. That is something that we always make after we bake a big ham, to use up the left over ham.

It's been a few months. We've been so busy with classes that I've not had the pleasure of baking bread in a month. I love cornbread though, and does my hubby.

Hmm now you are speaking my language. We had pintos and last time in January. I try to cook a good old fashioned southern style meal at least once a month for us. We had pintos and fried cabbage, fat back and cornbread. Now with your corn bread did you use the yellow corn meal and bake it in the oven or did you fry up some skillet bread using the white corn meal? My family loves the white corn meal skillet bread and I love the yellow cornbread in the oven. Making my mouth water thinking about it right now. Wish I had some cabbage.

I do not know the food that you cooked but I think that seems to taste good. Well the last time I cooked is yesterday morning. I cooked rice and fried spam and also stir fried yakisoba noodles. I do minor cooking and my husband does major cooking because he cooks better than me. I can only do frying and cooking rice. But when it comes to more complicated dishes he is the one who does it.

I just remembered that since I have never cooked either one of those things...that I must be that guest that is coming for dinner!!...I hope you made lots cause it looks like theres a few of us mylotters coming..lol.. I have never made cornbread and wouldnt know how but now that you mention it, maybe I will look it up. When I was in tennessee about 14 years ago, I bought a southern cookbook that was some very nice recipes in it. I bet that is there too!!!

I have never eaten pinto beans but love cornbread. My mother use to make ham and beans and I would skip dinner. Just not something I like. My husband won't eat any southern dishes that are healthy and tasty. He wants chicken or a salad every night. Once in awhile he will eat a hamburger. The last meal I cooked was a big pot of chili and he did devour 2 huge bowls.

I love beans and corn bread and cook them as often as I can. We all like them and can eat them alone with the corn bread as a meal without anything else to go with it. I cooked this a few weeks ago. I've been sick and haven't been cooking as usual. I plan to make some tomorrow.

Last time I cook food was three days ago when I felt hungry at night, I boiled myself instant noodles. I love instant noodles, never get bored of it. Before that I made spare ribs for my family , it's sour and sweet. yummy
