Well, they're low cost, easy to use, light weight, ultra-portable machines. They aren't the most powerful thing that you can buy, but the price draws the eye of the consumer, especially at these hard economic times. Most ranging from $300-$400, netbooks can handle most basic tasks with a very energy efficient processor that most possess called the "Intel Atom Processor." They are also known for having great battery life also. I'm saving up for a netbook myself to be honest. The ASUS EEE-PC 1000HE to be exact. So are you guys buying into the netbook craze?

I was going to get a netbook. But after trying them, and doing some processor comparisons I realize that the Intel Celeron is even faster than Atom. Not as power sufficient no, but if you want a cheap laptop - What's cheaper than a Celeron? Haha :)

That's all that some people need though. A computer that can handle simple tasks such as web browsing, email, a little video, etc.

Well I might consider getting one in the future but not this time. I'm more of a desktop guy. I like playing games in my computer and I know that notebooks cannot handle games that require high graphics. The only thing that I find convenient about notebooks is the portability.

I was actually checking out the MSI wind and it was highly considered, but then I saw some info the EEE PC 1000HE which has a slightly better processor and up to 8 hours of battery life. It's up for preorder now and is supposed to be released near the end of this month.
