$1 per referral gone. Is CIAO still a good site to earn? Obviously YES!!!!

I'm really wondering how people thinks so little. When ciao stopped to pay $0.25 per review lot of people leaved the site. Now they stopped to pay $1 per active referral and lot of poeple says "ohhh so sad, i will leave the site, there is no more earnings"... I really can't understand these people. I want do some math to let your brains think a bit more. As you know, quite all the products on ciao have a rating worth of $0.03. Some have $0.02 and some $0.01. Let us consider the worst case: product with a rating value of $0.01. This means for each helpful or upper rating, you will earn $0.01. I want assume you work properly in ciao, having 100 good friends there that actively rate your reviews, as you do with their (it means having at least 400 friends in total, coz lot of them will not rate you). So for each review you write you earn $0.01 x 100 rating = $1 (but more often is $3 coz of the quite standard $0.03 rating value) If you write 10 reviews per month is at least $10 So the $2.5 they don't pay anymore for your 10 reviews are the good reason to leave the site? About referrals. You will get 50% of their earnings for 6 months. Supposing your referral write 10 reviews with a rating value of $0.01 and work properly having the famous 100 friends that rate his reviews, YOU will earn at least $0.50 for each review he wrote. Supposing he post 10 reviews per month is $5 per month. A TOTAL of $30 in the first 6 months!!!!!!!! So is the $1 for active referrals that ciao don't pay anymore a good reason to leave the site or to don't referr people? i don't guess so. I would like pay $1 to have an active referral that write 10 reviews per month, and actively rate other people getting 100 ratings for his reviews every month! Try to think big, see the potential, and keep writing and rating... and of course keep referring ;) Btw, if you not joined ciao yet, you can join it clicking on the ciao banner in my profile: i'm still glad to have referrals in ciao, also if (as someone said) i'm refferring people there for free now ;) Happy earnings to all of us.

The truth is ciao is actually the site where I earn much more. I also tried the scam site comparedbyus, but I really guess they are a scam. At least they changed so many time their rules on a daily basis! I really like ciao, and wish this site will continue to pay us for long long time

Hello friend. First of all, thanks for sharing your experience with us about comparedbyus. I think the same about that site, i wasted few time on it, then i decided to leave. For me too, actually ciao is the best site where i'm earning online. Wish you great earnings on ciao.

Thanks for sticking up for Ciao! I joined a while ago and haven't yet started to write reviews or anything, but it seems like they've been getting a bad rap lately, especially here at MyLot. =/

That's because people usually can't think more far than "today". If they could try to think to "tomorrow", or better "next months", they could better understand what's good and what's not. Like the people runned to write reviews for compared by us, writing like crazy for 2 months, just to find they earned nothing ;)

Thank God for someone posting a sensible discussion about Ciao apart from the ones all crying about how bad it is (because they didn't even read the rules of the site). I think I've referred about 3 people to the site and these people were genuine writers but they didn't really bother coming back as the standard of reviews in general was so poor apart from all the copied ones and what with them being harrassed dozens of times a day by idiots adding them as friends saying "rate me and I'll rate you", etc, they said they won't bother coming back until most of the cheats have been removed from the site. Referrals ARE one way of making extra money if you know decent writers to refer to the site (as long as they stick around long enough to publish some reviews). I've been over on Ciao UK for years and have made decent money from there and have been making decent money on Ciao.com since June of last year (aside from a break I took until they included movies as a category as that's what I mostly write about), I haven't referred a single person to Ciao UK and have still managed to earn well from the site. Some people are confused about the 6 month payment period from referrals. It's quite clear to me when reading about it on Ciao that the 6 month period refers to the 6 months from when your referral joins and not 6 months from now, as in Feb 2009. As to your last sentence, if people join under you from your banner in your profile, it's not true that you're referring people for free as you will earn from their earnings in their first 6 months LOL!

Hello anonymili, nice to meet you here too (already done in ciao ;) ) Yes you're right, but about my last sentence, obviously I was joking. I would love to referr 10 good writers every day for free ;) The problem is lot of people don't understand the rules, probably because they think is a waste of time spend 10 minutes to read the guidelines. So lot of ciao members don't know exactly how and how much they can earn there. And, to be frank, is not so bad if some people leave ciao. :)

Hahaha so cool to find someone who is not totally disillusioned by it all. I'm so glad you rated 5000+ of my reviews (hehe I've just written over 100) but what about the other 18,000 about mobile phones? You know that I owned ALL of the mobile phones that were ever invented and of course I have used them extensively enough to be able to repeat parrot fashion about the phones so that it just looks like I copied the features and specs from the manufacturers website LOL! x

Sorry but Ciao might be a good earning site for you. However, they don't give a rat's behind about blind users, and their site is extremely inaccessible to screen readeres, so it's not a good earning site for me and my friends, all of whom could use the extra money.

Hello friend, thanks for your response to this discussion. Sad to hear that, i guess web designers should do any effort they can to realize fully accessible sites, according to the latest web standards. Wish they will make ciao accessible for you and your friends too, in the next future.

Hello friend. For sure the ciao earnings, if you are active on the site, are hundred times higer than the mylot ones. If you compare any rating just like a response on mylot, then is as if any response here could worth 1, 2, or 3 cents. Too many money, compared with the money you can earn here :)

In my opinion is not possible compare the earnings you can get on a site like Ciao with the earnings you get on myLot. Earn $10 per month in myLot is quite hard, earn the same in Ciao is just like drink a glass of water ;)

Despite all of these changes going on, there is ONE ELEMENT WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT WITH and that is the fact that they are PAYING and definitely not another scam! As you explained above, we could still get income from Ciao for as long as we work hard and share our time and ideas with the site. I am definitely sticking with Ciao!

Yeah, you're right, i forgot to say that ciao really pay! ;) Well, i supposed all the ciao members knows that, but you're right, "smart" people here consider any site in the same way, so they don't care who's behind the site. Ciao is backed by microsoft, so when they change rules, the new rules are effective since the date they published the rules. Not like someone other, that promised to pay for rating, and then changed rules saying "sorry guys we can't pay for rating, and all the ratings you already given, are for free" :P :P :P Obviously i'm talking about the scam site comparedbyus. See you in ciao, and happy earnings ;)

Hello. You're totally right, i guess that ciao is still a good way to earn money, my earning are good enough there, also if they don't pay anymore to let your friends join (anyway i've only 1 friend that joined under me, so i'm not loosing so much ;) ), and also if they don't pay anymore to write reviews.
