My dad used to smoke reefer back in the days. I am unsure if he still does it.. We don't live together. I know that he drinks, but not as heavily as he used to. I have many family members that smoke now.. They are young.. And older. My mom used to smoke when she was alive. My uncle, two of them smokes so much.. I hate when they do this. One of my uncles smokes so much until the scent of his smoking gets caught on your clothes when you leave his home.. That is how bad he smokes. I do hate the habit of smoking especially when I am pregnant, or when I have small chidren..

Hello karubod! My husband doesn't smoke and that's what I am thankful about. But my dad and my brother smoke. I really don't want them to smoke but I can stop them. In our culture, we don't have a right to say something to our parents or to tell them what to do. I am very disappointed about my brother when I got home from college and then I found out that my brother was smoking. I even scolded him but it's not on my hand anymore.

nobody from my immediate family is fond of smoking..which is im glad..but the thing is..my current partner is a heavy smoker..i don't know how to stop him though he promises that he will stop eventually..he knows that it is not good for his health but he can't stop it in one go..anybody who got addicted to smoking should stop it slowly and not in one go coz their body will not take it..

No body has the habit of smoking in my family. Now a days there is no difference between men and women. every one is addicted to smoking. However women does not much privacy or atmosphere to smoke . so women smokers are comparatively less in India.

All male members in my family are smokers and that includes my dad, my husband, my father-in-law and brother-in-law, all my uncles from all sides of the family. I know smoking is a bad habit but I have grown up seeing the men smoking so its natural to me. I have never tried to make them stop.

my father, my brothers even my mother... my father quit, my oldest brother quit, my mom is trying... my father had suffered a relapse for suddenly stopping and now has to maintain some medication so he will not convulse... my oldest brother became conscious of his teeth and lungs... my mom, seeing the effect on my father, decided to stop it too

My father smoked, but he quit when I was a toddler. Most people (aunts, uncles, cousins) on both sides of my parents' families smoke or have smoked. I am happy to say that not only have I never smoked but none of my siblings or their children smoke. That is pretty amazing in this day and age. One brother and one sister tried it but neither kept it up thank goodness. It is so much better not to start but when we are young, that doesn't occur to us.

Smoking is injurious to health but most of them knowingly smoke. my dad has the habit of smoking and he never listen to anyone and it is gooing on. My husband was not having this habit but slowly he too started smoking with his friends circle. But I have not seen him smoking anytime. My son had seen his dad smoking, but he is no more now with us nor in the world. Once when I questioned him he just smiled away. Happy mylotting.

luckily no one in my family is smoking. some of my friends are smokers but usually i join less with my smoker friends. i know smoking is a bad habit & it affects our health but i have not tried to help someone to quit smoking. i believe the smokers know about the disadvantages of smoking but they already take it as a habit or some might say they are addicted to smoking. just hope that they will realize one day & have the will to quit smoking.

yes! my husband and my youngest brother does it! Now my husband is complaining of slight fever every night till dawn and when i tell him why, he exclaimed that he's not that smoking too much. But then again, i reinstate my complain to him regarding on how many times he smoke and how i observed him (coz i really count his smoking), he'll be surprised for a little while but still would ignore all about what i just have told him. Sometimes when we're talking about it, he will not smoke for a two or three sticks in a day but if im not beside him, he'll do it more than that.
Never was a time Ive tried to help him stop smoking, why? It is because I wanted him to be responsible for it. I wanted him to quit on his own pace. You see, the technique there is that, make them feel that you don't care especially when they feel illed because of that, coz it's where you can get your reason of advicing him and telling them whats causing there ill feeling. And from there (am not saying this for all smokers, but some do) they will realize that smoking is the cause of they're sickness! Also, people who started smoking at a very young age, like in their highschool years then it is very dificut for them to quit smoking at present time. Another is, people who experience starvation or those who want to get on a diet, they do smoke instead of eating. See, smoking is sometimes a reason to get away from something.....

My dad and two big brother-in-laws have smoking habit and long age. My dad had been to quit it, but he smoked again these days. I'm sure everyone who have smoking habit know it is not good for their health, just like we women know we have so many clothes, but keep on buying more clothes. It's easier to get into a habit than out of it. We need more hard work.

Surely smoking is a very bad habit which not only does harm to the smoker himself but also does more harm to the surrounding people. My husband has the habit too. I have adviced him for many times to quit smoking. However, I fail all the time. Nowadays, he smokes much less than before. I hope he can quit smoking as soon as possible.
