My life is finally taking a step in the right direction!
In a few short weeks we're going to be moving!! We found a house, actually it's a mobile home, but we were approved and we'll be moving in around the 1st of March!! This is very exciting news. We're finally going to be self sufficient and no longer rely on his parents for anything.
We're also taking a few other steps to straighten out our lives and finances. We're hoping that in a year or two we'll have better credit and will be able to purchase our very own home!
So I am very happy and very excited!!
Have you gotten any great news lately? Have you been looking to move or buy your own home?

Thanks for sharing your good news and congratulations !Don't worry about your moving, although it will tired and you will also lose your rest time on weekends.Anyway, you finally have your own home,a home that belongs to you, that's really a happy thing, isn't it ? Then i believe that you can buy your own home sooner or later under your united efforts step by step
I'm renting a room now ,and i also wish that i can have my own home before i'm married. So both my boyfriend and i are working hard for our future.
Best wishes to all of us

congratulations! It is always nice to know that you are making it on your own. It is hard to do right now with the economy the way that it is but I know that you will enjoy being on your own and if you are careful and make a budget, then I am sure that you will be fine. My daughter lives on her own and I know that she struggles a lot but I help when I can.

That is awesome news and congratulations! We just moved a couple of months ago to an old house in the country. I love it! We have lots of animals that visit in the yard including raccoons, deer and rabbits. Hopefully, we will be there for awhile. We still have our other house with a few things yet to move...well a couple of bedrooms of furniture. We need to get that house remodeled and SOLD!

The house we're staying in now isn't ours, so we just have to worry about moving and that's it, then we wash our hands of this place!

Not yet, but I do plan on beginning to weed through things and get rid of stuff we know we're not bringing with us.

My good news is that I might actually be able to move into my own house within a couple of months. We might have to live partially in our caravans, but I don't care how primitive it is if it means we're on site! I've owned it since the summer, so you can imagine how sick I am of living in a rented house.

Well that's great! I'd hate to have to live in a rented house even though I own my own place! Good luck with your house!

hello katsmeow
that is awesome! congratulations to you-all in getting to move into a place that will be yours. and March 1st will be here before that we all know it. well that is good news. and my family and myself have been living in our home now for almost six years. we were renting where that we used to live, and that was killing us, plus we weren't getting anywhere either, renting is like throwing money out the window. we have a two story house with a two car garage, out back has a nice good size back yard that is fenced in. we are close to the interstate, airport, lake, stores, and about anything else that we need within minutes where that we live right now. have fun packing everything up and moving into your new mobile home.
take care and have a beautiful evening. i hope that you are feeling better.

Thanks, I am feeling better today.
Your house sounds very nice. We're hoping for something like that someday, but we have to straighten our finances first.

your very welcome. our house is a nice house but the house that we are living in now is a HUD home, but it is nicer than when that we moved into it already, we have done some painting, we have painted the kitchen, dining room and the bathroom so far, and the rest of the rooms in the house need it also. so i guess the next room that we paint will be one of the boy's bedroom's. oh yeah, and my hubby painted the inside of the garage when we first moved here, that looks loads better and he also painted the other side of the downstairs area. let us all know how that you-all are liking your new living quarters.

It definitely sounds like this is a great opportunity for you right now. Your little guys having to share a bedroom is worth it just to save yourself from the uninvited guests! I hope it all turns out for you and it sounds like all your money and in law problems will soon be well behind you.

As for the sleeping arrangements it's not much worse than what we're dealing with now. At the moment I've got the twins sharing a tiny room, my oldest has his own, and the 2 youngest are still in our room. The only thing that's going to change is my daughter may get her own room, or at the worst she'll share with the youngest, and the older 3 boys will be sharing, so hubby and I will have our own room to ourselves and the oldest will no longer have his own room.
Space is going to be a big issue, mostly storage space, and closet space. But we'll adjust without too many problems. We've moved from a large house into a tiny trailer once before.
As for the money, that will only get better. Our rent will be about the same as it is here, maybe a tiny bit higher, but our power bill will be significantly less, because not only is it a smaller space to power up, it's also well insulated so we won't be losing heat in the winter!

No, I don't think that's possible or allowed, but the maintenance man told us he'd give us a shed. It's the one that belongs to the office, but they're not using it. So that will help, I can keep our holiday decorations and the kid's seasonal outdoor toys in there. We can also add on to the trailer, there's a huge deck we can turn into private space if we're willing to give up the deck, and there's some room in back to add on to, it's just having the money as I've said. We'll make it work!

Congratulations! I'm so glad you will be getting away from your inlaws. I hope things start looking up for us soon. I've been trying to get approved for childcare so that I can start working but it isn't going so smoothly. Two out of 3 kids are sick and I've been feeling pretty run down lately myself. We are buying the home we are in now. We moved here two years ago and don't plan on moving any time soon. Good luck with your move!

We're all sick over here as well, I have the worst of it though. I had to cancel my weekend plans due to not feeling well. I hope I'm 100% before we have to move!

We have been looking to move lately too, just getting our ducks in a row at the moment. Maybe I'll be here soon with my own great news on this front.

Hey, good luck with your move too! I know how bad the economy is, luckily it's not affecting us very badly at the moment, and I hope it doesn't affect you and your move either.

Kats, glad to see you are getting to move out on your own away from his parents. I know you and your family will be more satisfied. Perhaps there won't be the 'dropping in' that you've had to deal with. Just have a good budget and get your credit back into good shape and you'll be doing fine. You may have to do without some things you would like, but it's better to have the money to purchase them than it is to go into heavy debt. We think the material things are what make us happy, but that isn't so. The family and a clear mind is better than having things that you can't afford.

I guess that I am far from getting my own house now. Although I have great finance advantage before, I didn't manage it in a better way. I was blinded by my desire, and I was stupid. Now, I owed a lot of debt in credit cards and personal loan. I hope that I can pay them off as soon as possible. I was keeping on working, that is at least a right direction for me. Now, I am trying to limit my personal expense at least. So, I won't let my parents worry.

That is really good news-I think it is in the milestones of gorwth that at some point, you need to leave your fathers home and find a hom of your own-anybody who doesnt seem to jump over these milestones of life leaves quite serious unanswered questions! Good luck in your new home!

finding a home that you like is great. I remember when we went house buying. I hated it. It was so stressful. Now that the economy is getting so bad I just hope we can get it paid for before we loose our income. Scary out there today. Good luck in our new home.

That's wonderful. it's nice to live in a house you call your own. We already have our house and we have been living here for more than four years. It needs some renovation and refurbishing but it's nice to have our own house.

Great news. Best of luck!
We've lived in our own house for 24 years now. Actually this is our third one.
Can't think of any great news of late, but at least there hasn't been any bad news!!!
