My dog loves to chase squirrels

Our dog that adopted us..the second one in this house since we moved there 5 months ago chases everything. He is really a good guard dog and wont' let strangers get out of their cars. He chases squirrels, birds, raccoons, rabbits, possums and armadillos and the deer that wander into the yard at night. He doesn't hop though, probably because he is a larger dog but he is funny to watch. He just sits and his head moves from side to side as he patrols the borders of the property.

hello moneymommy Doughnut as well loves to chase the squirrels that she might happen to see out in our yard. she will run as fast as she can to catch one but she never seems to be fast enough. lol i haven't ever seen her hop like that, but i have seen her trying to climb a tree before when the squirrel runs into a tree, she will stand up on the side of the tree with her front two paws, looking up into the tree barking like i know that your up there, i seen you go up the tree. lol and i bet that your dog is soo cute like that hopping. lol i do not think that i have ever seen a dog hop before. lol too cute! take care and have a beautiful day today!

I don;t have a dog now but when I did she used to chase anything, including cats, but she just ran after them.

haha, funny. my puppy used to chase the football with which boys were kicking. He often caught the ball first and bite it so that boys dare not get the ball to continue their games. ;)

Nope, I don't have dog and enjoy with my parrot as my pet. Talking about dog and squirrel, as dog very sensitive to scent and fast moving object, I think dog like much squirrel's scent. That is why any dog, once found squirrel on the ground they will chase after squirrel before the squirrel runs up the three.
