I've been flipping through everything and noticed that there are some really neat headlines on people's discussions.
Is that what catches your eye when you are just browsing around the different discussions? How do you come up with a new and interesting titles? Do you think that is a good way to get people to read what you've wrote?
Tell me your thoughts please.
I find that I will click on a title that makes me go "What?" or laugh or mad. What do you click on?

I don't start many discussions (honestly I don't) butI have done recently because I have more time to be able to respond.
When I start them the title for me is very important because I have noticed that an eye-catching title is what draws me to other user's discussions. A title creates immediate interest and if it is 'What??!!' and then I usually stop and respond.
I love reading the 'heavier' stuff but I rarely respond as there are others who do so much better than me

MyLot must be fun for me (and I presume for everyone) and if I feel I'm drowning that's not fun. I can't swim offline and in some occasions I would definately be out of my depth online too. So I avoid them
Thanks for your consideration though. If I find a topic where I feel I can add something without getting hot under the collar I usually do, time permitting

I think the headline is very important. You could have a very mundane question but an excellent title, but that works both ways.
Sometimes the best discussions are missed because of a bad title.
It is the headline that hooks you and provokes a response. Newspapers have been doing it for years.

When looking for a discussion to write under it has to be something that catches my eye or i know what im going to say. I dont want to be stuck on a discussion thinking about what to write to them when there are plenty of disucssions here that i cant write under and help them out.
The titles i come up with are usually things going on in my life or if i find that topic intersting to talk about. I want others to open up my discussion and hopefully respond to it and enjoy waht they are writing on.
MyLot also helps me and others i hope to get things off there chest and even maybe help with someones stress and axiety if they are capable of writting a new discussion and getting someone to respond to them.

Exactly! A title that can catches our eyes or even intriguing. Well, for me I rather go for original research. It's so educational and exciting :)

I go for the "what" or the ones that I know will make me smile. I try to make up titles like that. The more eye catching, the more of a chance that new people or the ones on your friends list will go for.
I'm a writer at heart and I know the more a title has a hook the beeter chances are that someone will check it out.
