Are you taller than your mother?

My mother is 5'4 and I am 5'7, so I am taller than her. All but one of my mom's kids is taller than she is.

Kids usually are taller than their parents...or at least close to their parents height. Definitely not the case with me though! My mom is about 5'2" and I'm only 4'9" and before you start wondering, I'm 25 and definitely done growing. Lol

I'm about 3 + inches shorter than my Mom. I'm 5'2", and she was just shy of 5'5". Not positive, but I am pretty sure that I'm the shortest woman in my family. Both of my daughters are way taller than me. My one Aunt was very tall, she used to tower over me. Some of my family used to joke that I was the runt of the litter lol, all of the ancestors were very very tall.

yep I'm taller than my mom she's only abt 5ft2in or so, I'm an only child & I have no idea how tall my dad was as he passed away when I was really young.

I am taller than my mom but I never quite made it to be taller than my dad. Mostly everyone else in my extended family was pretty tall, a lot of people over 6 foot but I never made it quite to that height. I am not short I guess but I would have liked to have been a little taller.

In my family my father is taller than my mother. He is 5'10 I think or taller than that but my mother is only 5 feet. I am lucky enough because my height is 5'4 and I believe I got it from my father. My sister is 5'2 and she is also taller than my mother.

hi Pleiades ! well i am not. my mom is 3 inches taller than me. it really sucks, because my mom is already a small woman at 5 feet and i am still 3 inches lower. oh well, i guess it is okay, as i am also blessed in other things. and by the way, my husband is 5'9" so that makes him a foot taller than me. lol and well, there is hope that our baby will grow to be so much taller than me. lol take care and God bless you! happy mylotting and happy weekend! :-)

I believe that better nutrition has brought about the fact that many people are growing taller - to a point. My mother was exactly the same height as her mother, 4 feet 11 inches. I was 2inches taller than my mother, 5 feet 1 inches, and my daughter, at 5 feet 3 inches, is 2 inches taller than I. My oldest granddaughter, at 5 feet 6 inches, is 3 inches taller than her mother. The younger granddaughter is probably not through growing yet. Who can say how tall she will be, but she is already taller than her mother. Both our children are taller than my husband or I (allowing for gender), and all their children are taller than their parents. None were adopted.

Yes, much taller than my mother, and also taller than my 3 sisters. The only reason I can thought of is playing basketball when in high school. Jumping and ball games, involving jumping, is stimulating to getting taller. For kids wishing to avoid potential height inferior possibilities, start in due time with good diet support.

I'm adopted also, but I am not taller than my mother. Matter of fact I'm much shorter than my mother. My mother is 5'9 and I'm only 4'6. All my brothers and my sister are also taller than me. I'm next to the oldest but the oldest girl.

My mom is 5'6 so obviously taller than me ,i am the smallest in my family which is only 5'2 an average height of a filipina.

i am taller with my mother,i am 5'7 ft and my momther's height is 5'4.most of my siblings are taller too :)

I am taller than my mother and sisters, but both my daughters are shorter than I am. I feel like a giant when with my mother's extended family. With my father's extended family I feel short. So, I know what it's like to feel short and to feel tall.

My sister and I are the same height and we are taller than our mother who is less than 5' tall. We aren't tall...but we are definitely taller than our mother.

I am shorter than my mom. I'm five foot two and she's five foot six. I am almost the shortest person in my family. I don't care though, I make up for it by wearing awesome shoes.

No, we look about the same height but she is about an inch taller than me.
