there are so many food around the world with different countries & different cultures have different types of food.
surely there are food that we have never tried before, in that case, would you try it firsthand or would you only try those which were highly recommended by chefs or friends?
have you eaten something that it tastes so bad or gross for you? will you eat it again if you have the chance in the future (or will that be the first & the last time for you in this lifetime)?

I once tried snails, at a company dinner. I didn't really want to, but I figured I should at least try and, since it was a really nice restaurant, they should at least be about as good as they could be! It was like chewing a pencil eraser, though the garlic sauce was nice. And no, I wouldn't eat them again!

So far, the only food i ever regretted eating are, vegetables.. lol =D Because they are so tasteless and so hard to chew, that i simply hated them.. hehe ^_^
Other than that, i dun eat most meats too, such as lamb, pork and beef.. lol =D But i do eat some food which might be gross to other ple, such as goose liver, foie gras, pig liver, escargot and kidneys.. lol =D
I like majority of them, and i will definitely keep eating them if i have the chance to do so.. haha =D

I regret trying a persimmon. It had been some years ago when I was a teen. My mom and I went to see one of my friends so I could visit her, but no one was home. I would have called first, but they didn't have a phone. Anyway, on the side of the house was a persimmon tree. My mom claimed that it was a delicious fruit, but warned me that it could be quite bitter if not ripe. I picked one off of the tree and bit into it. Apparently I grabbed an unripe one because it was the bitterest thing I had ever tasted and it left an awful dry feel in my mouth afterward. That was enough of eating persimmons for me. I haven't tried one since!

You gave me three (3) prime question marks about food related to its different origination of country and culture for me to answer with my true life experiences. Fortunately, I am a foodie type of person or epicurian especially gourmet foods. But, will never attempt for exotic and nocous type of foods.
Answering to your first question ~ I'll take indulge accordingly as firsthand to get it try like what I did to these menus; Braised Chile-Spiced Short Ribs with Black Beans, Confit Duck Legs, Hearty Casseroles and Root Vegetables.
Secondly, some of them tasted gross at the beginning and half way on it I found ambrosial and toothsome. Actually, it totally depends on the ingredients as an added value to its delectable and scrumptious taste including method of preparation done by one chef. I mean the masterskills in cooking make that particular food tastefully out of common or ordinary.
To your third question ~ yes and absolutely I will eat it again if I have the chance in the future to let me know more about its recipe and the secret of cooking. I will use my quality communication skills of how to get closer to the chef, whom has done that great cooking job. I mean the secret keys of his skilled cooking. Different chef with different pattern and formation of their cooking although to the same kind of food.

It is mushroom. I heard that this is very tasty but when I ate it, yuk. The taste was aweful. I should not say it but this is the food, I would never like to take in my future because it is not only tasteless but also very costly too.
I don't take it in the party also where I get it free!

Hello my friend victorywp Ji,
Well, I am confined to remain pure-vegetarian, and cooking is my birth right and hobby
of my hubby, one day, after taking red portion of water-melon, he di not throw rest of
andnext day he prepared curry out of white portion. Like he will not throw skin of many
and turn them to dish. He keeps experimenting. He is of the view, God has created all for
us. let's enjoy them. may god bless you and have a great time.

Hello my friend victorywp Ji,
My hubby is very fond of cooking, when he is in kitchen, he does not want anyone to
share his cooking. He does all alone. He learnt cooking as he never wnted to be dominated
by any women's threatening taht they won't cook for him. There are amny men like my both
, who are at mercy of their wives for cooking. I am really fortunate to be my hubby. May
God bless you and have great time.

I love food whether its gourmet food from a hotel or a street food or something exotic
The food that I ate that I really regreted was Beef with Green Curry in Bangkok, Thailand. It was so damn spicy that my ears felt like smoking and I even shouted while in the restaurant.
I ate mint leaves to get rid of that sensation onmy tongue which was really uncomfortable
The lesson I learned was, never go or eat in a restaurant that has no customers, there should be customers either locals or tourists.

I don't try anything I'm not sure I would like. There are many foods that I will never try. I rather stick to the foods I like than try something I don't like and then have to buy something else.

I guess that would work, I would have to tell them what I like and they could see if there is something similar, I am a meat and potatoes type,Nothing too spicy, Thanks , that may work.

that's a good point, sarahruthbeth22! sometimes i felt the same. when i go to some unfamiliar places, i will surely look for the food that i know, rather than to try something new there. but later i stopped doing that because the taste of the food that i know in those places are also not as i have expected. it's the same thing as trying new food there. LOL! anyway, it will be the best if you know some people there to bring you around for good food.:)

if you have no one to bring you around & you would not dare to try new food on your own, just try to look around for franchise restaurants. the taste won't go too bad because they were guided under tight rules.:)

I am usually willing to try anything new as long as you tell me what it is. I have tried many things and actually liked them, such as chocolate covered ant, fried frogs legs, rattle snake, alligator tail as well as other game such as rabbit, bear, moose, elk and deer. However, the worst thing I have ever tried and will never eat again is octopus and sushi. I am not too sure what the taste actually was, but the feel and texture just grossed me out.

Sushi is one that I would not want to taste again. I'm glad I tried it but I couldn't even swallow it, I spit it out on my plate and then had to go rinse out my mouth, it was horrible. I'm usually game to try anything, though. I tried squid once and found out later that the reason I didn't like it was that it was overcooked and rubbery. The taste wasn't too bad, though.

I just tasted one piece from a plate someone had. They bought it from the grocery store and I've been told since that I should go to a place that specializes in sushi. It was visually beautiful but tasted very nasty.

Hi ya victorywp
Well when I was out in America my auntie took me to a sushi bar and she told me to taste the green paste stuff that comes with it. I did as she suggested but really didn't like it and it was very hot. I wouldn't eat that again that's for sure. I don't like guacamole either and anything with sweetcorn in it is no no for me too, apart from that I think I will usually eat and try anything! I think I would have to stop at bats wings, or eyeballs and stuff like that though

Iwill try most things once and then if Ilike them will eat them again.
After I gave birth to my son I spent the next few days in hospital and most of the food tasted good and was nourishing. One day we were served tripe. It was sort of swimming about like some sort of soup Nope I'm sorry, I did taste it and that was it - never again!

I can't really think of one specifically at the moment - maybe because I'm tired? HahaBut one I think I don't like is food with MSG. It makes me so thirsty & makes the tongue feel like it's scorched & even the pee smells YUCK! I met a guy in a sports club who was once a chef to a Spaniard ambassador. They never use MSG for their cooking. He told us the MSG can corrode even the woks & leave a mark on them
