Everyone loves potatoes. Baked, fried, scalloped, in soups and stews and served cold in salads. Mashed, smashed, smothered, boiled, there are so many different ways of serving them from culture to culture. Whether its french fries on the side or patatas fritas with cheese fondue the world seems to be in love with potatoes. What is your favorite potato dish?

One of the favorite ways that my daughters and I like it, we call it sliced potatoes. I will slice them very thin and spray butter on them, cooking them in the microwave for a few minutes laid out on a plate individually and then turn them over and spray more butter on them and sprinkle with pepper and cook them for about five more minutes. Then when they are done top with shredded cheese and sour cream.
This discussion idea must have came from Tim's dinner last night while we were playing winster. LOL

I don't remember where it came from but I think I had already posted it by the time we were playing Spell Squad. Your cooking method is one I don't think I've ever heard before. I think the past I may have sauteed sliced potatoes and then put cheese on them as a sort of makeshift au gratin. Your way is really interesting though. I may have to try it, though without the pepper :-)

I know that I am strangely picky. But I am not much into baked potatoes or fried or scalloped or mashed or any of that sort of thing. I only like hashbrowns, frenchfries, and tater tots. I do not eat any of these very often by the way.

You wanna hear (that is read) picky? I know someone who won't eat mashed potatoes but loves smashed potatoes! I truly do not see the difference.

What kind of oil do you use? Do you cut it up before you bake it?

Mashed potatoes with gravy. Soo yummy. I especially love KFCs mashed potatoes with gravy. I could eat some all the time.

I like mashed potatoes but I don't know how to have gravy without some kind of meat being involved.
