What are your reasons to use facebook?

As I have posted to a previous discussion, at first I used facebook to stay in touch with my friends abroad or with those living in different places in my country. It was fun and I liked it as they could follow my life even from distance, they could see and coomment on my photos...I like this interactive"thing" that facebook offered its users! So, I liked using facebook to stay in touch with selected people! After a while and as facebook became so overcrowded, there were too many friend requests from people I knew, but also were not friends of mine, but couldn't ignore their request at the same time...So, after that I stopped using facebook that frequently..I thought of it as a place to gossip! :p
But as I saw that many people don't see facebook as something personal and they don't mind sharing many personal things in this network, I am wondering what are your reasons to use facebook! :)

I use facebook coz all my friends useing bebo moved from it to facebook.
Facebook is better than bebo tho so I can see why.

I use facebook to keep in contact with my friends from high school. Its nice to keep in contact even when everyone has moved on different colleges or the military.

I use Facebook so I can connect with my friends, make new friends (not just anybody from the internet though! :P), learn more about my friends, and see what they're up to. I used to follow my ex boyfriend on Facebook to see if he had any new girlfriends. Sadly, he deleted me six days ago because of something he thought I did, but didn't do. I'm always on Facebook looking at my friends things.

No matter that I don't use it frequently anymore, when I eventually log in, it's what I do to, and I always find something "important" for friends that I would have missed if I wouldn't log in! It depends on how you use it, facebook has good things noone can disagree :) (i even do this for my ex too sometimes :p) Thanks for your response

I use facebook to find old friends, keep track of politics, and know what's going on with events across the country. Facebook has greatly improved my life because it has reconnected me with people who I thought were gone forever. I check facebook at least once a day just to see how my friends are doing, even if they live right down the street. The one thing I'm worried about is that now I can know what my friends are doing without actually having to interact with them. Just what I needed, another excuse to sit around the computer.

I use facebook to keep in contact with my kids and view the ever changing pictures of my grand kids. I also use it to promote my online business. And yes every so often I get caught up in the online games.
