Crying do helps in relieve the tension..But, if your feeling is hurt badly, it takes time to heal. The best way, is pour-out your hurt feeling to a good friend, who can help.

I deal with pain by ignoring it, however there is only so much I can ignore. I don't like breaking down infront of friends as it goes against my portrayed character. Yet often it can just be a little thing which gets me to that point where I have to find some space and time to be alone just to let it all out in a torrent of salty water. I find that it is very effective method of relieving pain which I'd suggest to anyone. It is particularly effective if there is someone who you can talk to about things afterwards as it helps to prevent them bugging you later.

yes i think the saying is absolutely right, i feel if we have more of happiness or if we are in pain then both the times we express it by crying and tears in our eyes and hence i feel that it is natural and is not forced. it makes us feel light and not heavy hearted and relax us. specially when we are in pain and try to control the hide our feelings we feel heavy hearted and unbearable.

I guess I believe that. I always feel better after I have cried about something. But as the poster above me stated, it has to be a natural unforced cry.
