Does anybody else get frustrated by the fact that GMail doesn't have folders?
I really with they did. I personally think the whole tagging thing isn't very efficient with sorting my mail... I just have a lot of mail!

I was definitely frustrated with this for awhile because I too get a lot of mail. And, even though my mail was sorted with the labels, it was all in the inbox and just made it difficult to sift through sometimes.
I think that now Gmail has improved on their labels and they can basically function as folders. On the top bar there's now a function for "Move to" that's to the left of the "Label" function. If you use the "Move to" function, you can actually move the email to a particular label and it will no longer appear in the inbox, just the label you specified. I hope this made sense since it might help you with your mail sorting frustration! I know it helped me!

I was just thinking about this today actually. I have some emails that are in my inbox that I really could shift to another folder if it existed so I could clean my inbox out. I hate having a bunch of emails in my inbox that don't need to be there, but they are emails that I need to keep around so I keep them until I no longer need them and then delete them. However, folders would be an excellent addition to Gmail.

Gmail is my favorite free email service, I use them for everything.
Getting used to labels can be a bit confusing but in the end, its really not much different than folders once you learn to function with them. Several years ago labels in Gmail were so much worse to use, I love Gmail so I kept using it, however I creted a yahoo account as well, and forewarded anything I wished to keep over to it and filed it away by folder. Maybe this will suite you better if you wish to continue using Gmail.

Hi cord and welcome to mylot...I switched to gmail from aol also. Someone hacked into my aol account. So that was the end of that. And I find that there's less spam with my gmail account. But I agree with you - I'm used to folders and I wish they did have them also. Tagging isn't the best for me either.
