Turning to God for Health and Healing

I feel that nearly all illness that comes on us suddenly, comes because of our negative thoughts. When we turn to positive thoughts of love and well-being towards ourselves and others, this has been scientifically proved to have a beneficial effect on the nerves of the body, which in turn enhances the immune system. If we catch a cold or something similar, then our immune system deals with it more efficiently. And if I should fall over and break my leg, it would be because I was not being focused on where I was walking and had an accident. Not paying attention, starts in the thoughts also. . Derek

The final statement you have here is so wonderfully true. As you know, My Sheila was very ill for most of our marriage. We saw things and she endured things that few could nor would, including myself. Her strength was mine and mine hers but we always knew one thing. Both of our strengths came from Our father God. I am studied in the bible and in the spiritual learnings of the gospel. I have taught young adults and adults the spiritual meaning of the bible including the numbers and colors. I feel very authorized to speak on your subject here. I am a born again Christian and believe very strongly in God's heaing. I have witnessed it time and time again. If not for his love and compassion and the blessed healing that he gives to us, My Sheila would not have had the 24 years with me that she did. 15 times I was called to her bedside and told that she would not live through the night. Each time she was touched by the hand of God and healed and I brought her home with me. She was going to have her right leg taken off due to gangerine one time. We went to the Elders of our shurch and pray for her. We watched as God touched her from inside and her leg turned pink and was healthy again. She never did lose the leg. Doctors said something must have broken lose inside and allowed the blood to flow again. We KNEW it was God and gave him the Praise for it. the bible says that "where ever two or more are gathered in my name, there shall I be also. If there be any sick among you, bring them to the Elders and let them lay hands upon them. Annoit them with all that God may heal their ailments." Doesn't getting any more up-front than that. I also know of religions that do not believe in Doctors. They say they trust only in God. Well I believe that God knows our faith isn't always as strong as it should be or as great as we need it to be to heal our own so he gave us good men and women with knowledge to help us when our faith is low. I believe God has allowed them to be and also has ordained their presence that we might be healed through God working in the doctors. HE, our Father in Heeaven certainly does not need the doctors to heal us. He knows that WE need the doctors and so he has allowed them to be. Yes, I believe 100% in healing and again you are right. The doctors do the physical and God does everything else. Give HIM the praise and glory for everything good in your life. Always, Darrel

I agree with you faith and prayers can move mountains. I've been sick before and i was hospitalized for a month just imagine that i was already having a blood transfussion and i've god a hole already on my lungs. but still i prayed hard to God whatever plans he have i lift up my faith on him and let him do his works on me. I was healed by my prayers and later on when i repeat my xray no lesion was visible. any marks that i've been in a serious illness. I always thank God for all the blessings he gave me. being here writing this response is another blessings coz its shows that im still here. every day is a miracle.

thats really true.. prayer could really move mountaisn. your faith in God would really help you feel better no matter what kind of illness you have.

I fully agree with you that our faith in ourselves, the Doctor and above the Almighty can cure us from the diseases later than sooner. If we do not inculcate positive feelings in ourselves that there is some Supreme Power, who will look after ourselves, it may take longer to get out of the diseases. I find that some people are so critical of Doctors that if they are not getting cured slowly, they start cursing the Doctor for the same. Those kind of people should have complete faith on the Doctor and nature, otherwise, they will always remain sick. Good Post!

I really don't turn to god for anything because I know for a fact that he has lots of things to think about. Also, turning to god is really quite redundant and would tend to insult him for inefficiency. He has given me everything that I need to survive in this world and all I need to do is use these resources like, my brain, reason, hands, feet, etc. If I abuse these resources then it is really my fault for doing so and to turn to god for help is just like saying to the jailer, free me so I can commit more crimes. Yes I totally agree with you ....... GOD is the supreme power and faith and prayers are supreme way to reach GOD ....... See ultimately GOD is the only power to cure all miseries may it be disease or anything which we get by our mistakes........... Thanks for posting nice discussion ...........

Yes I think turning to God for healing and health is a good thing because it's God Himself who created us, so He is the all-powerful to bless us with good health. I think He is the greatest Doctor on this Earth, so whenever we are ill and need healing, we must not hesitate to turn to God, to pray Him, to meditate on Him and to ask Him for health and well-being

i agree zandi but not all doctors who believe in God because they beleive in Science.yes i do pray.sick or healthy we pray even short and to give thanks for the nice morning

I was thinking about this today. So many want "Universal Health Care". I feel as if we already have it in God but don't use it. I'm not against doctors but I am against running to them for every little thing. We should still take care of our selves. And I always thought that praying for God to cleanse our food, in Jesus name, prevents any kind of poisonings. If only our faith was as big as a "Mustard seed"...

Its really becoming very common to all people. There are many reasons by which people may stuck to illness but the only way you may get rid from sickness is to maintaining your health. If one goes to gym or workout atleast one hour a day, you may be free from sickness, after all prevention is better than cure and one of the most greatest is the LIVING GOD, pray wherever you are, prayer is the free network to all of us to communicate with GOD. Be healthy and be precious to GOD.

Hi there Zandi! I always pray to God and most especially when I have an illness or one of my loved ones does. Even sometimes, when an online friend posts about a relative or friend of hers who has a disease, I always pray for them. I think that there is nothing impossible with God and he is the greatest healer ever. You still need the doctors though, and they will be used by God as His healing instruments.

I agree with you fully. God is the ultimate healer - he is the doctor! And yes - perception of one's mind is one of the strongest forces to how things will come out. If you think negatively then you really induce stress over your body and worsten conditions. If you think positively your body handles and recovers much faster. God is still working miracles today though - all you have to do is put your trust in Him. Have you tried Jesus? He's alright!

The mind rules the body, your thoughts, even the ones you are not aware of cause health or illness in your body. iI your thought are turned to the healing energy of God you will have health, but you must put full trust in this. That means that if you are ill and the world offers you healing you will know that the healing comes to you through God. This is what the practice of healing energy does.

I have proven God as my healer when he healed me when i was sick. Every time i don't feel well, i will only pray to Him for healing and He answers my prayer. Not a very deep related sickness but for my mother who suffered sickness that doctors themselves cannot explain how to treat her. My mother was diagnosed having a lung problem that was year 2007, but the doctors could not figure out her case and the symptoms she is having. And my dad paid the bill amounting to $2,300.00, it was really a hard time for our family. The doctors decided to let my mother go home for they cannot do anything else. This was the miracle that happened to us. For we are faithfully praying for her recovery and a lot of our relatives and friends and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ prayed for her too. It was an answered prayer my friend, she was healed. Not automatically, but within a month after her discharge from the hospital. Till now we experience the goodness of God in our lives. Because my mom is a living testimony.
