What's your Random Act of Kindness?

The world is full of bad news. It's all so depressing. Let's try to find the good things in life. Everyone tell what Random Act of Kindness you've done today. Even just a smile to someone you meet, a smile goes a long way to helping someone's outlook. Anything. Did you encourage someone on MyLot? Did you give some encouragement online to someone you've never met? Tell us all!! Brighten our day!
I tried to smile at everyone I met today (big deal, since I'm a grouch sort of gal), and I let an older person hang onto my arm while crossing ice. (Terrifying!! I just knew I'd fall down and hurt the poor dear, but I didn't. She felt better when we got to her vehicle. Could probably smell my fear of falling!)
What's yours?

Sounds like you did quite a bit yesterday!! Calling a friend helps them to feel better, then shared your meal with a friend. That's something!

Feeding an animal also counts. Just ask them!

I shared some of my sweets today with a couple of people, (slighlty ulterior motive though as I have kind of a crush on one of em!)I gave my dad my clove oil as e has a toothache,I also bought some sweets for my nieces and nephew. I have smiled at loads of people today and the last properly nice thing I did was give blood last week.

Oh well, even with an ulterior motive it still counts. You didn't have to do it, but you did. Giving your dad the clove oil was a nice thought. How does clove oil help? Never heard of it before. Smiling is a very nice thing to do. It spreads happiness.

I'm always encouraging people on Mylot, but my act of kindness for the day was to offer an online friend who is going through a troublesome time at present, my full and ongoing support. This friend supported me when I needed it, so I don't really regard it as an act of kindness... more a show of friendship and appreciation.
Brightest Blessings, my friend.

But those are the best kinds! To encourage a friend is as much an act of kindness as to a stranger. Sometimes it's harder to remember to support those around us all the time as well as the stranger we'll never see again.

I helped my boss, an elderly gentlemen with a computer problem. The IT guy is next door to me, but my boss always gets me to try to figure out what he has done to his computer. LOL. It was pretty easy to day, but he is very appreciative of what I do. There should be more nice people in the world like him. I also helped him with a community service program/idea he has. I gave him a contact name and number and also another suggestion, Louisiana Public Broadcasting. He called the contact, and he also suggested Louisiana Public Broadcasting so we may be on to something here! It's a program for pre-schoolers to prevent literacy. So that is my deed for the day--or should I say deeds :) Have a great afternoon snowcat46!

Thank you for being so helpful!! I'm sure he appreciates you a great deal (there's a reason he comes to you and not the IT guy), and so do I. I like hearing all these good things. It cheers me up a great deal.

ummm random act of kindess...i did once when i was inside a supermarket and i was falling in line over the counter, when i gave my items to the cashier and some cash to pay with it, she gave me back my change. while putting the things i bought inside my bag, i overheard the man after me that he would not be able to pay for the milk for his baby and the amount he needs is the same amount of my change! so what do you know, to do some random acts of kindess, i just gave the change to the cashier so that the man can buy milk for his kid.

I normally keep doors open for people and always make sure to say thank you to anybody who has helped me out, even if they have not done much. I smile back if anybody smiles at me too. Everybody can do something like this, it is a great boost when you are feeling low to know that you are appreciated.

I haven't done it today, but my families random act of kindness is when we go on our walks we will take two trash bags with us. One for trash and the other for cans and bottles. We pick up all the garbage and cans we pass by. Keeps our small little town cleaner.
Other than that I can't think of anything else. If I gave someone encouragement on mylot they never came back and told me, but I do know I have tried to encourage some not to give up.

Good for you! It doesn't matter if they told you thank you. You did it and that's what the important thing is.
And you're keeping your town clean. That's a big one too. Thank you for all you do.

Oooh, oooh...I got one!
I helped a pregnant lady put her groceries in her car cuz I didn't want her to strain herself. When she thanked me, I said - "no problem at all...you could hurt yourself or the baby by lifting heavy things and bending to put them in the car."
Turns out she wasn't pregnant...and she got real mad. She punched me in the stomach and kicked me where it hurts the most.

Plus you made me laugh with this one!! Moral of the story--if you help someone out, don't ever tell them why!! You could get hurt... Just help them, and keep why to yourself. Much safer.

Good for you! It doesn't matter what you were thinking, you did a good deed by not doing it. And still had the joy of thinking it. Heh

It was my mums birthday so I bought her flowers, a balloon, a cake and a present..and I sat with these on the bus travelling to the house and everyone was starring at me! It was worth it to see her smile! :D

I was taking my daughter to school this morning and saw another car in the parking lot w/the passenger door wide open. (I'm thinking the kid must have gotten out and forgot to closed the door). W/out taking anything, j/k, I locked her doors and closed the door for her. *crosses fingers* Hope she didn't leave the keys in the car. LOL

It was still a very nice thought. Someone else could have wound up ramming into that door and gotten hurt. I hope she didn't leave the keys in the car too! But even if she did, you saved her from a possible court action! Good work!

How about today? Any day can count! I just like hearing about good things. It sort of makes up for all the misery going on in the world, to hear about the little things that do so much good. A smile to another person, a kind word, these help us all.

Now that I think about it, I can't recall any random acts of kindess yet today. I took my husband to work so he would not have to walk, but that probably doesn't count.
My intention tonight on the way home is to let someone else out in traffic. I always feel better when someone lets me out into queueing traffic, so that will be my random act for today.
:)

Every little thing counts, just as much as big things. Cause the little things mean so much to the person it happened to. You did good!

Nothing major. Went to freerice.com and donated a little rice to feed people. But that is so little I don't know if it really should count.

Care about your colleague is one way to make your work enjoyable, so when in office every morning, just say hellow to people you meet.
At my home, I often bring the rubbish bag of my neighbor along, when I bring mine down to the rubbish center.
On the road, I sometimes will give a hand to the aged, or disabled people, when crossing the street.
My friends on mylot site are mostly young people, I like to respond their discussions, sharing my observations, hopefully to their point.

Hi,
Told "Namaste"(folding hands ,near chest), 2 lady visitors.
Smiled for few(including a small girl crossing road, with heavy scoolbag).
Shook hands with 2 old colleagues, who resigned recently.
One candidate (who came for interview)offered tea and finally told him "U R GOOD"!
