Dogs or cats?

I am a lover of all animals and have respect for all. I think if I had to choose it would be a dog. THey have more personality and are able to communicate with easier. You can play more with them...( I have not yet seen a cat play fetch in the yard).....Both are very loyal companions and need love and care from their owners. Its much harder to bathe a cat than a dog too as a rule..Then again, cats are usually much quieter...Oh I dont know..Can I have one of each????

I've always had both dogs and cats during my entire life. In fact, my parents had a dog before I was born so I've never lived without a pet. We've also had some iguanas and a couple of large snakes which I wasn't too fond of but they belonged to my son and he took them with him when he moved out. Right now I have two dogs and two cats.

I love them both but since i'm asked to choose only one then it would be dogs.. dogs have always been part of the family.. we've got three dogs right now.. 2 shih tzu pups and one askal(asong kalye) dog..=) apart from dogs, we've got three cats and one dwarf rabbit..=)

I love both dogs and cats. Right now I just have a dog and thats all I need. I found out last year I am allergic to cats so I will not be able to have a cat anytime soon.

We have dogs and cats in our house. When they first arrive they quarrel a lot but now they they just ignore each other. I love dogs more than cats.

hello smooch i would have to agree with ya on having a dog versus a cat anyday of the week. my family and myself own a female dog, her name is Doughnut and she is a stray dog, and i wouldn't give anything for her either. we have had her now for about seven or so years. she is such a good dog. she knows how to sit, stay, shake hands, and she will even give you a hug. isn't that sweet of her? i have a photograph of her on my Mylot profile if you'd like to go look at her. once i was at the place where that i take Doughnut to get her rabies shots, and some man there inside of the office there wanted to know if i would sell him the dog for three hundred dollars. i said no, right off of the bat, i told him that i had two boys at home that was expecting me and the dog to return back home. duh, what was he thinking. go get your own dog dude. lol right? take care and have a beautiful evening.

Dogs! I have always been a dog lover. I can also recall the names of our dog in chronological order: doggy, bravo, cindy, butch, ece, whitey, chubby and finally, the most pogi dog, moochie. Moochie's with my mom right now in Zamboanga city. I'm here in Manila temporarily for almost a month now so i kind of miss Moochie. He is my baby. Dogs, hands down! They're so much more active and affectionate, where as cats seem to be much more independent and have attitude. They're also much harder to train, if you can ever get to train them at all! I hate that cats climb on things....

Yeeeah, dogs are awesome, and way better than cats. Most of dogs are even more friendly than cats, and cats sometimes give me the impression that they just use the owner to get food and thats all, because a lots of cats come to the house to eat, and then tehy leave the rest of the day.

i was ten when i had two cats and a dog. their names are miming and minggay. my dog's name was chief. but when my parents found out i have a bronchitis, my pets were given to somebody else. i really cried because the three of them were my best of friends but i have no choice since their furs can be a danger to me. but if ever we'll have a house of our own. i'll consider having a dog first. then a cat will follow. :D nice discussion, smoochy!!!cheers!

I love cats but I'm allergic to them so I settle for feeding the neighborhood strays and talking to them. I have two dogs, my last pets because I'm 54 and don't want any beloved pets to outlive me-it's not fair to them.

We have been a cat keeper for many years. But we also have fishes as pet and hamsters and rabbit but we haven't tried a dog yet. I know how i like to have dogs but in our community back home, it is not wise to pet dogs since we don't have enough space for them to poop and stroll them and there are people there who eat dogs, yuckkss. Anyway back to the topic, since i know how to take care of cats, i would like now how to take care of dogs. They say that dogs are man's best friend. They are good companions and are loyal to their master. So if we will be able to live in a city, own a place of our own, we would definitely like to have dogs for pets, but of course i don't close my door to cats too.

i prefer have cats , for it wont disturbed my neighbors, and it do not pee everywhere, when i have cats in my house , the rats would have to go far away , or else it will be thorn into pieces.

i cant stand cats. i prefer dogs, big dogs. a dog is able to be taught tricks, skills, and is smart. cats seem evil and are very territorial. they arent even like pets, they seem like theyre trying to take the house for their own.

We've had all kinds of animals from sheep to goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, a pony, pigs, snakes, gerbils, fish, turtles, monitor lizards, rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, rats, birds, cats & dogs. You name it we probably had it. Right now we only have 5 cats, 2 dogs & 3 birds. I love animals but feel that I'm getting too old to keep taking care of them.
