How old is the pc you are currently using?

Well, the pc I am using current to make this post is the Intel Pentium III, which I have been using since five years. Its still efficient with its hardware parts. For the connection of internet, I don't think this really matters, but with the AVG antivirus installed in this system, my pc works pretty slower than before. Before I don't really use antivirus when I didn't have internet. But now I am bound to and its making my pc slow. It takes about 2-3 minutes to load everything while turning on my pc.
But I am satisfied for now. What about you? How old is your PC, which processor do you have?

My computer is a crappy Dell Dimension E520 Desktop computer and I have had it for about two years now, and yes, this computer has given me nothing but problems since the moment it came out of the box. Everything is running smoothly now since my boyfriend and some of the Dell Technical Support (I had to yell at them to get them to fix my computer because Dell would not fix it)have fixed the problems in the computer. Next time, I am buying Alienware. Those are way better computers.

I am going to get a new Laptop soon, and I am going to get either AlienWare or the Dell Studio XPS. I have never heard of anyone have any issues about these two computers.

i used to have intel pentium III as well i used it for more than two years until the hard disk just failed and i couldn't get it repaired since the technicians said that it's hard to get the parts that failed. that pc was second hand so it may have been obsolete. now, i'm using intel core 2 duo and i'm satisfied so far.

So you have upgraded your pc from pentium III to intel core 2 duo. I hope core 2 duo is very nice. For me, I would like the new computers for games only. I get struck with this pc only when the games doesn't run into my computer. Other necessary programs are efficiently working, so for me this pc is fine till now...Later on, I will also upgrade this...Let me earn enough through mylot first lol...
Don't you play games in core 2 duo...

We actually just got a new laptop after many many years of using an extremely old desktop computer. This one is a Gateway and I don't know all the facts - I just know we got it from Costco and it is working really well. I have 3 months to test it out. We were choosing between an HP and this one and decided on this one since it is a better deal and eventually we will upgrade to a MAC anyway because I like to do graphic design and want to pursue that as a career. This PC is really fast and I'm liking the fact that I can take it everywhere and am not forced to stay in just one location. I'm not sure about the processor and all that stuff and actually just took off the stickers that would have let me known about that info.

Anyway, Congratulations for your new laptop. I wish the long life of your laptop. We really need very fast processors for graphics design and also the very good graphics cards, especially for 3D graphic design like Maya, 3d studio. Well I used to learn MAYA for 3d modeling with this pentium III computer before 2 years, but I have stopped it due to its slow performance...

well, this laptop is almost a year now and my husband bought this one. i got my own pc which is almost 4 years now but it's pentium 4 with a combo dvd and printer. it's still working well coz i mainly used it for chatting and internet stuffs. simple researches.

the pc i am using now is been 5 yrs i am using, it has a dual processor. it is an old pc but its still working good, but planning to get a new one as i think its time to replace it. so i am saving money to buy a new one soon.

I think dual processor works very nice isn't it. But I don't really know about dual processor which is five years old...Anyway, best of luck for your earning and hope you will soon be able to buy new pc with it...Thanks for your time to respond and happy mylotting...

I'm using a 3 year old laptop with a AMD Turion64 processor with 1Gb of RAM. Everything from surfing internet to doing daily work is no problem but I can't play latest games on it as the processor does not accept the games. It's ok to me since I don't use it to play games.

Yeah! for doing rest of the task my pc is also fine. Only when playing games I have to bang my head lol...But we can't expect to run new games. New games come out each day...The brand new pc today may not be able to play the game released just after two or three months...Thankgod! my pc is superfine for internet and yours too...Thanks for the response...Happy mylotting...

I have an Acer Laptop. It is an Acer Aspire 5515. It works really good. I just have poor WiFi Internet Connection. I had this for about 1 month as of now. It is still pretty much brand new.. I have Windows Vista Basic as my processor. I also have Avast installed too. And McAfee Security as well. It has a great pop up blocker controller.. It is a really great laptop!

Any way happy mylotting with your brand new Acer laptop. I used McAfee once, but now I am using AVG, just the free version. I am satisfied with this antivirus too, though this is the free version...

I've been using my laptop for almost three years.. it was a birthday gift from hubby.. though it's an old school laptop, i don't have plans of replacing it with a new one.. i really love my laptop.. i've never encountered any problems so far.. =)

I am using the computer left behind by my son when he moved out with his family about three years ago. He bought a new monitor for me, but the speed is relatively low, and i cannot upload of lots of lots of photos. I said i do not play pc games so do not need to update. may be i need to upgrade some day, and
what do you suggest to add to speed up my computer? thanks in advance.

May be your computer is just as old as mine. Is it pentium III or IV? For we have no more speed of internet than 15 kilobyte per second, I don't this the speed of my pc really matter for the internet connection. But yes, for playing games, this pc is very much problematic. I really need to ugrade this pc for playing games. Hope you too be able to upgrade your pc with this mylot earning lol...
Well as a friend above has told, to speed up the pc, the disk defragment and disk clean up would help. Some months before when I didn't use internet, I didn't use antivirus, but now I am using AVG as antivirus and it takes certain memory, so this is making my computer a bit slower than before. But i need AVG too.

Right now I am at work and using approx. 4 years old PC. Recently an admin guy changed its part so basically it's newer than 4 years. At least some parts of it.
At home I have a laptop which is my first computer ever. It is 6 years old! Still in a good shape

Old is gold and dearer...Yes mine pc is also still in good shape. I get complains from friends that their new pc is damaged very soon. But mine old pc is still in good shape...

I have a HP Pavillion DV4 and it works nice, I have P4 2GHz dualcore, and i have 4GB of RAM and 400GB Hardisk, AVG antivirus is a good antivirus software, I uses AVG until now coz it's nice, i think you need t scan your PC with a spybot search and destroy software, and try to clean your disk and try to defrag.

Well congratulations. You have got very nice pc, I am jealous lol...2 GHz dualcore, 4 GB of RAM, 400 GB that very very great. I hope your pc is very fast. I want to shake your hand, because I am also using AVG as my antivirus softwore and it is very nice, so I am satisfied with it. Well I will try to clean the dist and try to defrag in free time. My laptop is four years old. It's a Compaq Presario and it's still working good. I am using Avast as my anti virus and so far, it has not affected the speed of my computer.

I am using my pc with Pentium 4 in it. It is almost 5 years now. I have bought it in 2004.
2-3 minutes is okay with P3 but my PC takes generally 5-6 minutes on booting. I don't being an audience when it gets started. Other thing is that my processor generates enormous heat that I can' play game as it may damage the cpu!

I'm currently using a laptop with a intel centrino duo and it's about 18 months old.
I normally use a notebook but it's currently at the store as there is a problem with the screen!! The notebook is only about 6 months old but I can't remember which processor x

I bought my first desktop computer 5 years ago. Then I abandoned it because it's hard to bring it around. I bought a laptop 3 years ago. The brand is ACER. It is really convenient to carry it with me whereever I go. I prefer to use laptop to desktop computers.
