i never thought i would like it as much as i do but now i think i would not be able to deal with out it! in fact im hoping to up my plan to where i have it unlimited texting since i use it so much and its so easy to keep in touch with people that way!!
if you are a texting addict could you give it up? would you not be as good of a friend if you didnt have it? i know some of my friends we only talk through texts so i wouldnt have any contact with some people if i lost mine..
and do you feel silly that this feature means so much? lol

Even when I did have a cell, I never got into the texting. I don't like it and if I really wanted to tell someone something by phone was good enough for me. I don't see the big deal in it at all. It can also be disruptive at times I think.

I've never really use text messaging. A few times I've used it to get a message somewhere quickly, but those times have been so few and far between that if I was no longer capable of sending text messages, I woudln't miss the feature at all. I also woudln't miss people spamming me with text messages, when I don't know how they got my number in the first place!!

Darn! I didn't realize this posted so many times. mylot was hanging up on my last night, not showing me that things were posted, so I kept trying again and again and again. I'm glad it did end up getting through.

It's very obvious that my wife is the sms type while I'm the talk type as I'm too lazy to sms? HahaFurthermore mine is a PDA without the touchscreen feature nor have I a keypad, so it's stylish stylus poking all the way which is quite inconvenient, haha

In our country, competition with network companies is very tight. So every network company also offer pocket-friendly prepaid subscription. We have text all-you-can, call all-you-can, call and text unlimited, to name some. Where can you find 50 pesos (about a dollar) subscription that you can text all-you-can for one week, with an hour of voice calls? I can say it's only in the Philippines.

I do find text meassaging a handy way of sending someone a message without disrupting whatever they might be doing, especially when I know they are at work and what i want to tell them or find out isn't anything urgent. I was rather late in getting on the texting bandwagon though. But, I recently upgraded my phone (my other old one literally fell apart) and I got one that has a keypad. So, now I'm hooked.

I am very embarrased to say that if texting was banned for some reason and I couldn't do it anymore... I would be gutted!
I have a plan where I have unlimited texts, and I certainly get my moneys worth!

I think so. Since I regularly talk to people through texting. Well, it's more of calling now. But it's difficult to say instructions talking, it's better to text instructions.
Texting has made our lives easier, I guess. We can just send the account numbers, prices, addresses, phone numbers, etc. rather than turning our workspace or homes upside down to get that piece of paper or that pen to write the information.
Plus, it's discreet.
However, should text messaging be out. I guess we can live. As long as there's talking or other means of communication. At a cheaper way.

With my cell phone service.. I have prepaid. so i only get nights and weekends free. so i cannot use daytime minutes.. with having my unlimited text messaging i can talk to my firneds all day without using up the money i have on my phone...
I LOVE texting and use it everyday. but would it greatly effect my life?. NO,because i still have yahoo messenger and i could just sms text message all my friends hahaha...
thats does count as no cell phone texting right??...
now if i didnt have either one... that would defiantly suck. i wouldnt beable to talk to as many people as i do get to on a daily basis... I guess that can be a good thing too ;) haha

i am really into the text messages. im at work usually most of the day so it really helps to text my friends or boyfriend to make plans for the night and just to keep in touch with them.
sadly, if i didn't have text messaging anymore it would effect my life which is kinda sad but i still manage to talk on my cell as well but not as often as i would like

I currently have unlimited texting on my verizon plan. I had to get the unlimited plan because I kept going over literally by at least a thousand texts. I think I have a problem!!!! If I didnt have texting on my phone I'm not sure I would be able to function. When I think about it it does seem kind of ridiculous that I am so dependent on texting. I also think that I would end up losing some friends because I text more than I call I rarely call anyone unless its an emergency.

I think that taking texting out of my life would affect me a little bit but not enough to change what I did on a day to day basis. People should not be so dependent on texting and they should use other methods of communication. Writing letters is a good way to communicate with people, and so is sign language.

I think this is quite an interesting topic as it points out how much the world and the ways we communicate has changed; can you remember that only 10 years ago the first mobiles started to be in general circulation ( general enough so you cld actually text some friends); andnow, this day, how many people do honestly admit they can't even switch their phone off for a day anymore... or become frustrated when they don't receive this expected text straight away... I do too... ah, it used to be so simple ;)

I just love text messaging and it conveys a lot than talking, I feel. If I receive a text message, I normally give me response to the sender by conveying my thanks or else I send him/her a return message to acknowledge to let him/her know that I've appreciated his/her message. I love sending SMSs and as and when I receive some lovely ones, I forward it to my near and dear ones, of course with slight modification. I find it is a great fun to exchange messages. I many a times extend my wishes on Birthdays etc. through text message, very early in the morning, instead of calling him/her, this way I feel that I do not disturb the fellow in the morning, unnecessarily.

It would not effect me at all because I don't use it at all. In fact my cell phone is only used in an emergency if the car breaks down and is off the rest of the time. I live in the sticks and if I break down it could be a long walk to a phone in the winter so I have a very old, can't take pictures or do much of anything cell. I can do texting, but it is not that easy to do. I stay away from the texting as I hear it is expensive to do too. Also I don't really want to be located most of the time anyways. I don't do MSN or facebook either. LOL
Now my 13 year old daughter is right into that stuff and can't wait to get all that stuff. Guess I am getting old. LOL

a lot of people cant get calls during certain hours so its not possible unless you text them to get ahold of them.. of course i would choose im's over text anytime but most of the times its not a choice

No not at all. texting has become a vital part of i think almost anyone these days. it is our way of staying in touch with family, friends and even with our work. i could not imagine myself doing without text messaging. but i admit, some people over do it with just simple chat like exchange of messages and quotes. for me i use it only to be in constant contact with people who are part of my everyday life. be it family, relatives, officemates and friends.

For sure.. i love sending text messages to my family and some close friends wayback in college and i don't think i can survive without it.. it's way cheaper than making phone calls as text messaging fee here in our country is very affordable.. you can reload as low as PHP30.00 and avail the free text service for a day, cool isn't?

Hi.. these days text messaging had entered into each and everyone's life. And many telephone networks are providing as many offers as possible to attract customers. Every day I use text messages to greet my friends or inform any news and also for passing the time. it could effect my life very much if we dont have text messaging anymore.
