Save the Internet!!!!

Folks, I once came across a website http://www.savetheinternet.com, where I read astonishing news about some huge media corporations in the USA including Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, have been planning to turn internet in America into their private domain, filter all internet content, decide what websites internet users can access, and charge people for their blogs. As far as I know now, millions of people have been fighting with AT&T and other monsters for 3 years already, since 2006. However, the fight for the so called "internet neutrality" still goes on. This news really made me angry, even though I am not American, because I never thought this would ever happen with one of the most precious ways of communication today. This is outrageous! This must end!!! Thus, I am asking every USA citizen on who ever comes across this post to visit the website and sign a petition for the freedom of internet. However, I think that everyone on Mylot can help by sending the post to their USA friends on MyLot. I really hope this will help those who are fighting for our internet freedom!!!

i dont see how it is possible for these companies to do it..but it could be true too... big corporate companies have nothing else to do but poke their nose in peoples lives

This is the point: those corporations start it all separately, capturing a country by country, and then when this part of the plan is complete they unite to have everything under their control.

the backbone of the internet is to big for them to accomplish such an agenda, what the ycan do is control where you go and how you get there if they are your ISP. Comcast has been throttling down people using bittorrent and other have capped download byte counts. The Internet is a series of machines all connected to each other as long as there is a level three system they will only be able control there little piece of the pie. It is still control and still a worry some thing to fight.

Yes, exactly, it is still control, and I am sure that if everyone thinks that there is no need to fight against them, they will sooner or later take the whole pie, piece by piece!!!

Even the China which has the finest firewall could not block the widespread of the internet..I don't think they would succeed.

Fortunately, the whole internet is nothing but millions of computers linked together. Even if these corporations join and control what is now known as the internet, people will begin disconnecting their computers and start creating their own versions of the internet. Keep in mind the World Wide Web started out with a few computers connected by a basic ethernet cord. If you wanted to create your own internet, grab a friend, network your computers, and start sharing your files. Technically, this is known as a intranet, but collect enough people and eventually it can become THE internet. No one can every regulate the internet.

Hmm....All we have now has been built in years, and it would a lot of effort to start many things all over again being separated, and there is no guarantee that your new domains will not be monitored as well...for me this issue is really a scary one guys...
