I spend quite a lot of money on food because I like cooking and baking a lot and I do it everyday so I consume the goos very quickly. But even I do experiment, I won't taste them because 99% of time come up good(lol) hehe. How about you guys?

I feel the same way! It's okay to spend a little bit more on food since you after all are going to eat it, and the better it is the better you feel :) I have a cooking blog as well, it's very fun running one. It motivates me to try new things. Although I have been lazy lately and not been updating much :/

hello mermaidivy there are four of us in our family so i guess that we spend at least four to five hundred dollars a month on groceries each month if not more. i go to the grocery store around once every other week to stock up on the groceries and in between times, i have to go back to the grocery store if we run out of things like milk or bread or something like that. alot of times, something will come up that one of the boys needs to take some kind of food to school with them for the day. like when that they have a party or something at school. when my eight year old was in kindergarten, the teacher gave one parent certain days of the week to bring in a snack for the whole class. i did that many times when he was in kindergarten. i always love it when the kitchen is stocked up good with groceries. take care and have a beautiful evening.

I spend close to $900 a month for food. this amount is after all my coupons, and buying the cheapest. We are a family of 7 and we eat home cooked meals every meal. but its cheaper than eating out.

We try to keep it around two hundred a month, it's less during the summer, when we're growing alot of fruits and veggies. There's four of us, I'm a year away from being an adult, my brother just turned a teenager, and my parents both work...so we're hungry people around here. We're "experimenting" quite a bit nowadays, trying new things, new recipes, new ways of doing the same old dinners...we're eating alot better now than we were, too.

We spend between $500 - $600 a month for groceries but that is not mainly for food, that includes, laundry detergent, bath soap, tooth paste, etc. I am not cooking a lot because hubby has his cereals in the morning and sandwich and fruit at noon time.. so then I just have to cook dinner. I always go online also for recipes that are economical but tasty. Happy posting.

luckily we all 3 live together and contribute to the food. also go to dollar store for some extra treats like candy and chips. so we each spend about 40 bucks a week and still eat very good.

I usually spend between $400 and $500 a month of groceries. I like to cook and bake too. My son does not like a lot of new things, so if I am making something different I might make a sandwich or something else for him. That makes dinner cost a bit more.

I used to spend almost $500 a month but have managed to trim it down to $300-400 a month. One thing I did "wrong" was that I made *too much* food. And with no freezer space to save leftovers I usually had to throw it out. It wasn't necessarily much but a good portion or so. Imagine that building up over a month :) It's probably a few bags of rice, potatoes. A lot of soups. Various canned foods. I've eaten less due to the bad economy I think. But it also has given me a better perspective on healthy amounts of food to eat. I love cooking, and I love eating. But given that I can save that much money, just to be full and not OVER full - that's an option I'll take. I don't know what would've happened if I was wealthier. I'd make three course dinner everyday probably, gain 20-50 pounds a year and have mad cooking skills :) Problem is that food prices just keep going up :(
