Playing against the computer

I like computer games because I like chess and I don't often have someone to play with so it allows me to practice (when I have them time) so I don't completely forget how to play. There are times though that for whatever reason, either the system responds slow or doesn't register your move and it makes me wonder. Does it ever seem to you like the computer is cheating at a game?

Hello, i think computer is not cheated but it's made like that by the programmer to make the game more challenge for anyone who play it :D For example it's normal in PC strategy games if the computer is so fast when build the house and army. It's just to make us curious about how to beat the computer and therefore can make us addicted to play it, at least until we can beat the computer :D For chess i think it's the same, it's all based on the algorithm that's being used to make the games :D It's only my opinion LOL

Interesting idea; it's certainly a possibilty. I guess the only way to know is to talk to a programmer.

The computer cheats at Need for Speed Underground 2. When you get too far ahead, they cut across the track lol. Old game now

See, I'm not the only one who thinks about these things! I have my suspicions about the programmers!

I don't get to play online much anymore. I still like to play Cubis online when I can. These days I usually just play something I have on my computer -- when I have the time.

I find sometimes that the computer does not always respond to allow you to make your move the way you intend especially with games that are timed.
