when i was a teen and my sister was in germany where her husband was stationed while in the army. my sister sent us some seeds for german flowers. we liked the idea and so happily planted them. after the seeds had sprouted and developed green stems and leaves i was looking forward to seeing the beautiful blossoms. and then my dear father got carried away with the lawn mower and mowed down all the german flowers. we took it okay since it wasn't intentional. has anything like that happened to you?

I planted a plum tree once and my son mowed over it . Just two weeks ago our puppy dug up a flower I just got for my birthday! She must have ate it , because we couldn't find any part of it in the yard . It was very kind of your dad to let you pick something new . Good luck with the new plant !

Wow!! This would be a little embarrasing as well as sad. Considering it was something clear from Germany and you were wanting to see if it would grow, it had to be upsetting for sure. But I know that your dad felt bad, and I am sure tried to make it up to all of you as well. The only thing that ever seemed to happen when I was growing up was when we lived on a Farm and the little goats got lost in the Corn fields and we ended up finding them too late.

hi krausehome...wow back at you---goats in the corn. what a deal. from a distance i've found goats interesting. but they're more trouble then i would want to deal with. at least the corn would be healthy for them. nice of you to plant the corn for them to chow down on. hope they didn't take too much from you. have a good day.

hi baileycows...hehe yeah well nothing grew back. it was a variety of flowers. the thing is i had to point out to him what he did. he didn't even realize it. just had his mind on mowing. we got over it and took it in stride. sometime later he let us pick out flowers in a seed catalog. i chose a peace rose it was white. then we planted them in a place to the side that was designated just for flowers. they were safe there and my rose came back for several years. i loved it. have yourself a good day.
