You know it is really annoying to me. I try to be open minded about a lot of things, Christians do not like me because I do not follow lock stock with the notion the bible is to be taken literal, The Muslims do not like me because I do not agree with them totally, the atheist think I am too spiritual, And All in all I am told just because I do not agree with them that my name "free thinker" doesn't fit. I can't be a free thinker because I don't agree with you? Scr__w you then. How if I agree with your dogma just because you are convinced that only you are correct make me a "free thinker"?
I have studied many religions and languages, And in my opinion I believe there is truth in all religions. The concept of god may be different, but if you go far enough back you will see where all religions came from. And if you look at science and what we are learning It appears to me something happened to man around 10,000 B.C. hat changed the course of history.
So if I am not a free thinker because I happen to believe something that you don't then by definition then I am a free thinker, not a clone of you, so quit telling me I HAVE to agree with you or else I am a robot, because I guarantee you there are very few that have my beliefs.

If you are true to your own beliefs, whatever they may be, then be confident in what you believe. It doesn't matter what another man's path is, it only matters the journey you take in life. Namaste-Anora

It is hard to kick against the pri_ks and thorns, Thanks for you response and reassurance, I just get so frustrated when someone keeps saying they are right and I am wrong and I must agree with them or else I am not a free thinking agent, can they not see the hypocrisy in that?

You are entitled to think and believe as you please. I'm a christian, catholic to be specific and I have friends all different faiths and religions and they have taught me so much. Im blessed to know them and learn from them as they have from me.
I agree with your statement that there is truth in all religions. I wish more people could accept that.

yup, I do agree with you on this. I find religion facinating and I'm quite open minded with it. I was raised catholic (if you can imagine) and worked for a medium at the age of 12...typing manuscripts before I even knew what a medium was! I just can not slot myself into any particular religion and yes...you do have to consider science. I would not call anyone "wrong". You just have to be open to learn or you just won't.

Wow! This is the first time I am hearing a spiritual guy saying such word.
Prdon me, are you crying because everybody disagrees with you or because nobody watns you to disagree with them? If people do not like to hear your views, then why on Earth do you tell them your religious opinions? Is it spirituality or freethinking when u know very well that others do not like ur opinions and yet you express your opinions to them?
I am a muslim. I disagree with everything except Islam, but I do not go expressing my opinions to everybody, except someone really wants to hear. I stay in India where Hindus worship snake, monkey etcc.. Do you think I criticise them? NO.
Even some of my muslim friends mock me saying I am too liberal, but I am not bothered. Let them mock.

U have not written what ur beliefs are. No idea at all. However, your post tells me you are far from spirituality. Not that I am enlightened, but your post is not spiritual.

TerribleMan How easily you are deceived, and you are one of the people i am speaking of, but know you have a new name, you keep reopening accounts under different names, then you get fooled by one of your fellow troubles. Plus you do not have the ability to read. I did not say I was too spiritual, I said the atheists say i am too spiritual. That's ok, I forgive you because you can't even tell me apart from those who are trying to shut me up.

Plus i know who you really are Indrajit, You were rude to me first and made many false accusations and you were the one who got banned for all your inflammatory comments, Then you and your friends followed me around to all my posts and took my star from an 8 to a 1. Christians do not hate you. Only SOME Christians even take the Bible literally. I'm a Catholic and we definitely don't. A free thinker is someone who thinks for themselves. Which is probably most people.

I was discussing the other day with a catholic priest the Sumerian and Akkadian text, and to my surprise he told me that Catholicism does not hold that the Bible is the only book of truth. We had a great discussion on the ancient texts, i am going back next week to discuss the Babylonians writings with him.

You proved the bible is that not enough for Christians here ? well there are some Christians who hate people questioning them but a FREETHINKER will never back down and continue his Quest the quest for gnosis
We had another freethinker (but this guy never read what others had to say) but some extremist elements on MYLOT got him banned they went to the extent of insulting him for being old and many other derogatory words were used
Agent please do not change your view and continue to think and write what you like

Hi freethinker, I think you have all the right to be a free thinker and you certainly are. The closed thinkers just don't understand that. I agree with your religious views too, but usually I just keep my mouth shut until I'm asked about it since spirituality to me is just between me and myself. Best wishes.

Good for you, for speaking out against what you believe is 'unfair'. I see what you mean, with the fact that the different religions 'hate' you, but I personally wouldn't go as far as saying that! They don't hate you, but merely do't believe what you believe, as a free thinker, is correct. Many of these religious people have been brought up in households which do not permit free thinking, and therefore, they believe that you are in the wrong.

I'm a Christian, and I don't hate you. I haven't read what your beliefs are, but I would definitely tell you if I thought they were wrong. If someone disagrees with you, that isn't hate. They are just expressing their beliefs. Anyone who has a strong belief in anything, and doesn't go along with the "tolerant" majority, is bound to get flayed on these boards. Posters that project the "I accept everyone" view, are playing it safe. It takes alot of inner strength to stand up for what you believe in (especially if it's unpopular), and those who sell their own beliefs out in order to be popular, are the lowest of the low. I see alot of this on these boards; they are generally the ones with the highest star ranking.
If you are a spiritual person, and you personally attck another person because of their beliefs, then you are NOT a spiritual person; you are a fraud. I'm sorry if you have been personally attacked.
It is best to state our views / beliefs calmly, clearly, and in a respectful manner.

Thanks for your response. I think a lot of people have trouble with my views because they are not mainstream and I use or try to use science and my studies of ancient middle east religions and languages to suggest what i believe is the source of so many religions, but in the end it just my opinion. But what ticks me off is the people that if you don't agree with them then you are not a free thinker or to be taken serious because theirs is the only "truth".

Personally there are too many robots out there, too willing to go along with the flow. I am also a free thinker. I am open to other's views and am interested in others ways of seeing the world. It is sad to me to not be willing to listen being so stuck in your idea of what is right that you can't see anything else. I agree with you on religion, that is why I am not a member of organized religion. I don't have the need to be controlled. I respect others beliefs but I demand respect for mine. People who are stubborn are usually somewhat ignorant. Continue to live and let live- let go of your anger. It really isn't doing anything good for you.

you sound like to can be something else, and that's kool, you should be able to be a free thinker we all for that matter, who say's what one should think and how or what to believe in. Your beliefs are your beleifs to be the truth for you, so continue to be strong in what you believe or stand for no matter who tries to make you defend your belief it's yours just remember not to be argumentive with those who may want to challenge or you challenging their beliefs cause that just doesnt make sense because to each own. I can only figure from your images you have very strong and different views about alot of things and thats cool to, I can relate to that to.
So continue to think and be free to express and remember many people didnt like jesus either he was cruicified.
