I usually just take a lean cuisine, smart one or left overs from dinner that night for lunch. I also do salads and soups.

I make lunch box everyday for my hubby because if I don't cook for him, he won't eat so it's good for him.

Hi Chaitra,
Yes, I am packing lunch everyday for office. I am preparing food in the morning and me, my hubby and kids are taking food with them. Home based food is good for health and financially it is a wise thing. We don't get quality food from outside and the cost also will be high. Mostly I am preparing rice for lunch and as a South Indian you can guess what will be the main dishes.(lol).

I usually go home for lunch. Lucky for me I get an hour for lunch and its only about a 5 min drive back to my apartment. I like being able to get out of the office for even that 50 mins to just relax. However I do work 2 jobs and on days when I work both jobs ill pack a supper on my lunch break to take with me to the second job.

I've only recently started to pack lunch. Before I wasn't spending so much time at work, so I used to eat at home. But since I'm spending more than 8 hours a day away from home, I started to pack lunch because I don't see the point in spending money on packed food I can buy close to my work, not to mention this kind of food is not healthy.

Yes, most of the time I will pack lunch and have it during the lunch break in the office. It is healthier and I can save money, too. Sometimes I found it's boring to eat the food outside all the time. Whereas I always can finish home made food.
I love China

We usually opt for home made foods over outside foods. This is mainly because one can never trust how hygenic or fresh the outside foods are. Also, no one knows what ingrediants are used at times to prepare the foods or what additive are put in. We eat only vegetarian foods and usually prepare it at home.On one of those hectic days or when we are feeling really lazy we opt for outside foods. We usually have roti, rice, potatoes, or some other veggie. We also cook a few different types of dals whenever possible. Nothing beats the nutitional value of home cooked foods. If you want something really simple and delicious maybe you can try yogurt and boiled potatoes(Aloo dahi) with salt, peppers and jal zeera. If you like rice, then there are many simple yet delicious dishes to be tried out. Yogurt and boiled rice with fried termuric, salt and any other spices which u prefer is great. Try out the rice palou. We add just whatever vegetable catches our fancy and add it to the uncooked rice after making the masala mix in the cooking pot. Are you familiar with north indian dishes? Have you tried Basen Khadhi with yogurt mixed?

Hello Chaitra,
I am not the one who wants to carry lunch with him to work. In fact, I stopped carrying lunch when I was in my 6th grade and I have never taken lunch after that. There is no fun in taking in food that is cooked in the morning after so many hours, it just doesn't suit me.

hi shekhar thats true after long time it wont be hot and fresh like we have as soon as prepared in the morning but compared to outside food its better to take lunch box and also it depends on what food you take for lunch box because some food wont be good after two three hours. Thanks for sharing happy myloting.

i often pack lunch for work, i think its a smart thing to do as if you make your lunch your saving money rather buying lunch out that will cost more. but once in a while i buy lunch but not very often just so sometimes make a difference and eat food outside.
happy posting!!!

for me, it is prohibited to bring food into office, otherwise , you will get heavy fine or even get sacked thanks to the gloomy economy, but our company runs a restaurant itself, the food there is by far not bad as well as the price, i guess, during this hot summer, the lunch you bring will decay in case there is no refrigerator in your company

I don't like having to leave the office either so I always bring packed lunch to work, but its a lot easier for me since its my mother in law who prepares the food. I don't have to spend time preparing my lunch, when I wake up in the morning, its already prepared for me. hehehe

When I use to work nights, I would pack my lunch. We only had a thirty minute lunch break, and the only restaurants that were open were on the other side of town, so it was just easier to pack my own. I don't really know any delicious recipes for a lunch box....sandwiches are always the easiest things to fix, along with some type of fruit and yogurt.

How about scrambled eggs and mayo on a sandwich? Or crabstick and mayo and mango on a sandwich? If you're not into sandwiches then soy tofu is something yummy and healthy. You can even eat it cold. I think bringing lunch to work is a smart idea because you can save money and time. The only downside is that you have to wake up extra early to make the food...

Hey there! I do bring lunch with me. I don't buy outside the office or at the company canteen. You can't be sure if the food there are healthy or not. Some of them contains food additives that can harm our body. I eat good healthy food. Foods that I prepare. I bring maki with me and vegetable salad, some smoked fish, tuna, sweet potato chips. Every thing should be fresh and no additives.

Only vegetarian recipes? Well, i also make my own lunch, not always but 3-4 times a week if i wake up early in the morning. For me, a bowl of rice for lunch is very important as i don't eat rice for dinner (it's for my new planned diet FYI). So for lunch, i usually cook fried rice - the ingredients are of cabbage, carrot, onions and spices (i also put eggs but maybe you don't want to). There's always a way to make different recipes with rice, believe me.
If it's only a bit of time left, i make sandwiches as my lunch of the day, but rarely.
P/S: If you find it a bit difficult to cook rice (Which usually takes 45 min average to cook), you can cook rice before you go to sleep. That way, when you woke up, you only have to prepare the other ingredients, and cook for less than 15minutes. I hope that's help.
